Rode there from Tonopah, NV, to Bend, OR, then to Death Valley back to Tonopah. Froze on 32 deg passes south of Tahoe and baked in 100 degs in Death Valley on the same day and sandstorms couldn't see car in front of me on an '04 Kawasaki Vulcan - great bike - which led me to my first and only Harley '17 Road King. Good times, man. Do it on two whatever it is.
great , if your ever in the uk i'll show you around ,, as you have just given a tour of where i was in 1986 , so many memories ,, you have made my day , thanks ...
Thank you Matt for giving us the most thorough, organized, and detailed descriptions of places that you travel to. I really like the way you gently bring in some historical data in the mix, making these videos even more authentic and enjoyable. I love Harley, love riding and love nature. Great job Matt .
Been to Tahoe in August but didn't ride around it. Rode horses instead. If you haven't been, you need to put it on your list. Beautiful place. Shout out to your video photographers. They got some great footage.
Thank you for the video. You are definitely living the dream. Seeing what beautiful scenery the United States has to offer with your lady on a Harley-Davidson. Thanks again.
Matt I use that same U Haul trailer all the time. Its a great trailer and just an FYI the U Haul service is awesome. I had a flat on the trailer and called the hot line and was back on the road in about an hour.
The east coast would love to see y'all come ride the tail of the dragon US 129 the blue ridge parkway, skyline drive in VA, North Georgia is beautiful. Come see us. Thanks for the videos.
Fantastic video! Kudos to the camera women giving us the Panoramas. This is my area and my MSF course is in three weeks. I cannot wait to ride around the lake after I earn my chops!
Thank you for yet another amazing video. I'm lucky to live near the Lake on the NV side and am retired so I can ride midweek with a lot less traffic. Fun watching you ride roads that I've traveled on so many times. People come from all over the world to see this place and I get to live here. Besides the lake, there are tons of amazing rides throughout the northern Sierra's. Going south from the Lake on 89 over Luther Pass to highway 88 and west to Jackson, then 49 north to Placerville and pick up 50 back to the lake is a favorite loop. You can head north from the Lake on 89 up to Truckee too and continue up to Lake Almanor or head north west to Oroville. There are many more beautiful areas as well and if you ever want to explore I'd be happy to be your tour guide. 👍
Cool. I'm retired living in Nevada on the other side of the Sierras. Going to take a ride to Tahoe tomorrow and cruise around. Been there many times on my RKC. Always a nice ride. If you're still there, take a ride to Pyramid Lake if you've never seen the lake before. Really beautiful.
Pyramid from my house is about 15 miles away. I always like the Pyramid Hwy ride to the lake, then back track to Nixon and Wadsworth. Will have to try it to Fernley, then 95 to 50.
@@cliftonwilder Yeah I do the Pyramid-Nixon-Wadsworth loop sometimes. Nice ride. Like to do a Virginia City loop from the north down to Dayton or the other way around.
South Lake - to - Genoa (oldest town/bar in Nevada) via Kingsbury grade to Carson and back up 50 to the lake is a fun ALT route ride. I'm homesick watching this awesome video.
🛑🛑 A Really Nice Trip and Video, Matt 😀👍. You took a day from my Home Photo Album. My wife and I sold our house in the Burbs, and built a Cabin on a lake in Pennsylvania. We decided, we wanted to live “on vacation” at the cabin, than waiting for weekends to “pack everything in all at once”. We now ride my Ultra around the lake every chance we get, going out on many dinner rides. We take our family out on the lake on the Boat or Jet Ski, Wakeboarding and Tubing. Our closest neighbors are the 4 deer that come into our back yard nightly, along with the hummingbirds and squirrels that hit their respective feeders daily. When we are Wakeboarding, my 6 year old Grandsons “Pump The Tunes” on our speaker system on our Waketower; to David Lee Roth’s “Just Like Living In Paradise”, because they say coming to the lake “Is Paradise”!! 💯😀👍 Sometimes you have to slow down, to see what you’ve been driving by for years, to enjoy life 😂💯.
@@MattLaidlaw Thanks Matt!!👍 I need to hang with you. You take the nicest rides in the prettiest areas. 💯 I would like to share a beer with you sometime. 🍺 Keep up the Great Work!!😀👍
Great footage and video Matt. Love Tahoe. Used to have a place at Northstar. Great place to eat & have drinks with a view... is the top of Palisades Tahoe (formerly Squaw Valley). Take the ski gondola to the top and you will find an Olympic museum, swimming pool, jacuzzis, bar & restaurant... surrounded by 6 mountain peaks, overlooking Lake Tahoe below. Spectacular.
Hey Matt. Well you have done it again. I now have another destination to add to my riding bucket list. Great that you brought the family along. Precious time building memories. Thanks again.

I got my first bike like 3 months ago (2022 Low Rider S). Your videos inspired me to get a Harley and put miles on to get out and see more. It’s been such a joy and escape. Really cool seeing a familiar place I love through your eyes!
As ALWAYS Matt.! Your videos are way beyond any othe documentary on Lake Tahoe. I did the same trip back in April 2021 on my '14 SGS. Thank you for a great video once again... My next visit will be on my '22 HD-PA-GI.
Hi Matt. Great vid. Picked up my 2022 flrt a few days ago. Need 3 on the road now. Legs aren't what they used to be. Pushing 84 . Your vid brought back memories of a ride that stayed close to the Lewis and Clark trail. Included Astoria, Crater Lake, Mt Lassen, (climbed the volcano) overnight in Truckee at a historic hotel, the earplugs where needed. Then on to and thru Lake Tahoe to hwy 50 and back to Michigan. Starting to think about Death Valley early next summer and maybe ride the Moki dugway road in Utah. So much to see, so little time. Keep putting out those great VIDS !!
Great video. My son and I did that ride back in June of 2015. Thanks for bringing back some great memories. Definitely one of the most scenic rides in the U.S.
Matt, I can’t tell you how much I enjoy your videos! They are so beautiful, entertaining and educational! This is by far my favorite UA-cam channel! Keep them coming!

Awesome! Emerald Bay has some boat in campsites that I someday hope to do. I’ve always wondered how Tahoe didn’t end up a national park. It’s got that special vibe to it all. A very nice ride through fantastic scenery, beautifully captured in perfect weather! I also very much enjoyed your use of music. Absolutely splendid job! Thank you very much indeed!
We loved it when we did the rolling rally a few years back. Riding around lake Tahoe stands out in my memory more than any other part of that ride. Thanks Matt for bring back those memories!
