My hope. The unexpected visitor is ' Celeborn' but is in reality a shapeshifting Sauron. Once Celebrimbor discovers the truth Sauron reveals himself as the Halbrand Sauron
Think that black noodle thing in the beginning of the trailer is prob the black substance, that was attached on the tree of lindon
Nice Theory
The made up black stuff.
I first thought the treetroots growing where snakes
I'm thinkng Celebrimbor cut his own hand off when he put on a ring of power and felt Sauron try to take him over. Or perhaps Elrond cut it off.
That would be pretty extra.
oh i would like that a lot tbh
The transformation part could also be a flashback after Adar allegedly killed him.
With Celebrimbor’s hand gone, I wonder if it is a parallel to his uncle Maedhros’ hand also getting chopped off? Almost like the family suffering is continuing.
This looks pretty good, I'll admit. Still keeping some expectations low until season 2 storylines resume in August.
12:27 Celebrimbor is injured, I think he tries to hide or destroy the rings so Sauron can't get them.
I'm guessing that Anatar was meant to appear different from Halbrand; only to Celebrimbor and the Elves, and not to the audience. It would be confusing to the audience (especially non-bookies) if the two looked totally different. If that was the intention, then I feel they got his look right in the teaser.
Non bookies is the show's main audience. Given the disregard and disrespect of this show to Tolkien's lore they should've saved the rights money and just written a new show. Then by all means make up whatever you like. Not all the ideas are terrible, but they are all terrible within a context of Tolkien's work.
Thanks to you Harry, you are the Best
Thank you for sharing this breakdown. 👍
That might be a sort of barrow-downs but it should not be THE Barrow-Downs from LotR because that was formed after the fall of Arnor which has not even been founded yet at this point.
Agreed!
The show didn't follow the Lore last season; why should they start now?
It's an AU fanfiction. Tolkien Lore in this thing is non existent. It might as well be some other generic fantasy.
Agreed. But the later existence of Barrow wights doesn't mean there can't be similar beings earlier, under different circumstances. That said, I distinctly don't want them to be wights, as it feels a bit like they would be trying to stuff every single monster in Tolkien lore into one SA story.
The barrow-downs are there since they appear on the ancient burial sites of men that is there since 1st Age. The story from LoTR is there as barrow-downs are also being disturbed/used by King of Angmar, but they are not created by him. They are there since 1st age.
Is Halbrand/Anatar a flashback?
Fantastic breakdown. Kept it to the on screen elements without editorializing the hell out of it. Props, subscribing! Keep it coming
Anyone else think the tower at the end may be Gundabad which is in the North at the east end of Angmar
I don't think it is Gundabad. It is Sauron's fortress that we see in the first episode of the series, where Galadriel and a group of elves go looking for Sauron and confront a snow troll.
@@Ragar-ey5bl I agree with the location we saw Galadriel in the beginning. Definitely in the north frozen area, but what's a better guess? One of the old fortresses used by Melkor? Angband?
1 wig to rule them all and in the darkness bind them!
really impressive trailer, seems like things are really ramping up.
I really like Charlie Vickers' Annatar look, at first glance i didn't even recognize him lol, i guess that's the point
I'm still not sure if it was Charlie Vickers or not.
It would be pretty bad if he looks like that and Celebrimbor wouldn't recognize him.
But hey, it's the Rings of Power, they're capable of this.
@@elijoslyn1786 had to squint a little but yeah it's him ahah
What does Miriel outside of Khazadum.
Miriel is not outside of Khazad-dûm, her scene is in the sea I think.
Maybee Nimenlrians are in Anduniae
I don't think Sauron is walking out of the forge, it looks like he's working in it.
Where is Celeborn?!? It doesn't even seem like Celebrian is born yet
He’s presumed dead at this point - but he’s been cast. So she’ll discover he’s still alive at some point.
I'm excited for the new season!
Me too! It looks fantastic! Like they have finally gotten past introducing everyone so the real story can begin
Zhe forming zhing is a moving turd
This new season already looks fantastic!
There shouldn’t be any barrow wights in the second age. I believe they’re created in the third age after the fall of the kingdom of Arnor
There wouldn’t be specifically barrow-wights but wights as a concept definitely exists. Wights are just evil spirits which have possessed a corpse. These are probably just generic wights, not associated with the barrowdowns.
It has nothing to do with Tolkien. It's basically an AU fanfiction.
Theo definitely gets 1 ring, he got the sword in s1 and in s2 one of the 9 rings.
I think Galadriel screaming is a heart wrenching scream.
Perhaps it is the face off with Sauron but it involves an off screen Celeborn?
Ohhhh that’s fascinating
They got rid of the mystery box storytelling that automatically improves season 2 imo
I think that black wormy stuff is yesterday's Chipotle Barbacoa. Looks too familiar to me.
Morgoth's noodles
Oh my GOD! Tom Bombadil coming to save the day for GALADRIEL from BARROW WIGHTS who did not even exist at this time would be "interesting"? NO lmao, it would be the most stupid fanfiction imaginable.
The barrow-downs are there since they appear on the ancient burial sites of men that is there since 1st Age. The story from LoTR is there as barrow-downs are also being disturbed/used by King of Angmar, but they are not created by him. They are there since 1st age.
This thing is a movin tured. He only needs a wig to change. Sauron is Hallbrandt in a wig.
Oh yes, everyone will be fooled I'm sure 😂
The Barrow Wights are trapped fëar of Numenorians. They don't exist in the Second Age, unless Amazon does something dumb like say the Witch King made the Wights this early in the lore. More timeline compression?😞
More like timeline scrambling.
@@istari0
Exactly. McKay and Payne have never seen a Tolkien timeline they didn't want to scramble and/or compress.
It’s most likely just generic wights. The concept of wights are not specific to the barrow wights. They’re just evil spirits which have possessed a corpse. Barrow wights are specific to Cardolan in Arnor yeah which doesnt exist yet.
@@crabberdabberye
The Witch King, with help from Sauron's Ring, created the Barrow Wights. So Sauron with the One Ring could create wights. But why would he do that when he could (and did) create Nazgul?
The barrow-downs are there since they appear on the ancient burial sites of men that is there since 1st Age. The story from LoTR is there as barrow-downs are also being disturbed/used by King of Angmar, but they are not created by him. They are there since 1st age.
Amazon simp mode activated.
It was great!
Best season in the series! Going to tell everyone I know to watch it!
Gonna dig up my great Grand papa and say;"Grand papa, watch this amazing show with me!"! Six out of five stars!
Slay queen, yeeeesssss!
Why would elves not be asian?, Tolkien didnt say they weren't asian, also he didnt say they weren't reptilians so where are my reptilian elves? i feel offended...
Asian is a real life race that shouldn’t affect the casting of the fictional race in a fantasy world. Wtf are you talking about?
"European" is a real life race too....@@mckenanbundy3578
To believe Tolkien only wanted elves to be generically European looking, is to believe Tolkien made a fantasy world with the race of Men, eleven, and dwarves, but only one of those races has non-white people, no matter what region they are in. Weird.
Smh
@@mckenanbundy3578seriously the strawman is strawmannirg
Nothing tolkien about this. Stupid story line, bad costumes, bad casting, bad acting. A desecration of tolkiens life's work. It has given me one interesting experience, I've rarely been angry and simultaneously bored before. What a laughable shamebles
I totally agree with you about this being nothing like Tolkien, and he would have hated it. The books can't be touched, something Fran Walsh even admitted while filming LOTR. All we're getting is adaptions of his work, which I love regardless of how they dont live up to the Man that wrote it and his story's. My question for you. What would you different? How could you or anyone live up to the Great Author that wrote this or make it as good as his writings?
@@ericmillican1 I would want everything different than this abomination. And I'd start by hiring writers who knew and honoured the written lore. No one minded Jackson's deviations because the LoTR films honoured the spirit of the lore, RoP disregards it, in fact seems to hate it, and thinks it can do better than the Oxford language scholar and mythology expert who spent a lifetime creating what became the defacto standard for Fantasy and informed all future attempts to create it... Until Rings of Power! Wtaf??
The sheer god damn hubris is unbelievable.
More specifically: The desregard of the established timeline. The rewriting of the characters. The cynical inclusion of 'member berries from LoTR, but fundamentally the disregard of all Lore. The awful costuming and haircuts... I could go on, but that's why people hate this dumpster fire of a show, and why it will never be accepted by a fan base that has already written it off.
Tolkien would have hated this.
