- Swami Sarvapriynanda conducts a Q&A session following the discourse on "The Essence of All Vedanta" (Based on Mandukya Karika). List of Questions:
0:10 - Consciousness is witness or (sakshi) of what is happening around us. Just like we(eg: human beings) are witnessing everything (all the things happening in the world, body mind etc), concsciousness is also a witness. So if consciousness is a witness, who or what is making the choices that we are seeing around us or even within us?
14:43 - If the world is a manifestation of our thoughts, then how do everyone in the world project the same world (for eg: we all see the same flower etc). Why not different worlds?
20:56 - If Brahman is everything (doer and the done, seer and the seen etc), what is role/purpose/significance of Karma?
29:00 - Do laws of physics apply to an enlighted person?
37:00 - What is confusion? How did we become seperate from Turiya and why/where did this confusion start/occur?

It is so difficult to explain Chaitanya as described in Advaitya Vedanta. Our questions to you arise because we have not realised the Turiyam ourselves. You say rightly our only bondage is confusion. Waking world and dreaming world are still within our grasp. But the paromarthik world , since we do not reach with conscious mind, we disbelieve it.
You have a harder task than Swami Vivekananda. Rakhturam and Naren had both reached the paramarthik Turiya: but in the transactional world, Rakhturam was illiterate, not from a wealthy background like Naren. But both reached Turiya and both were free. Rakhturam would have had very hard time to explain the lesser mortals like us what he realised. You are doing such a difficult task of explaining Shukshma sharirer tatva to us who ahonidra(during waking and sleeping) remain in Sthula shorir. Plus we lack the faith to believe that Paromarthik jogot(super conscious state) exists because we do not take the trouble to shut ourselves off from the sensory world. Only when we are hit by difficulties, we try to reach inwards. When, even by reaching inwards, we do not find solace, we reach out to Paromarthik people like you. And you then act as the mirror which shows us the lesser mortals that: no that superconsciousness is also within you.
Waking reality, dreaming reality and deep sleeping reality. Plus absolute reality.

Ami jante chaichhi apnader kachhay : kon Upanishad e ei slok ta amra pai: dhan jon joubon sthaayee noy, atmantai ekmatro sthayee. Amar thakuma ebong pishi ami jokhon matro panch ki chhoy bochhor er, khoob shundor koray Sanskrit slok ta bolay bujhiye chhilen. Tin te shobdoi udahorin diye bujhiye chhilen kintu Atman ta bojhatay giye mridu hanshite onader mukh duto bhoray giye chhilo.
Is Atma and consciousness the same?
I understand that karma works only at the waker not the consciousness. Do we have to keep dreaming over and over? When do we finally stop the dream and end karma?

If I am the witnessing consciousness. What or who is the DOER that acts, thinks, sees the world & interacts with it? If I, now with this name & form am responsible for good & bad actions but I now realise that I'm the witness, NOT the doer. So I am FREE! What happens to that subtle body that leaves this gross body at death? Does it continue to exist & continue to reincarnate in another body & continue to experience it's own Karma? It seems to me that this subtle body has NO OWNER because I, as the realised free Atma, have cut my bond with this body/mind complex BEFORE death. I am confused!
It is difficult to explain Chaitanya or Superconsciousness to a modernday world where every wrong deed is labled Karmic, every good deed is labled Angelic : the witness or Chaitanya watches over both like the lidless eyes of Lord Jagannath. And when Thakur wishes : eder Chaitanya hok, then the Bibek or Conscientiousness tilts more towards Angelic activities as that give more peace and satisfaction and tranquil the mind. It is tough to explain Chaitnya: smaron monon ebong niridhyasan chhara.
Consciousness gets flipped over by its own mind posture and finds itself lost and living as a finite self amongst a physical universe utterly failing to realise that it is living a dream that it weaves out of itself.
The mind makes the difference between the real you and the false you. Get rid of the and wake up to get flipped over back to your reality.
Regarding the idea that we all see the same world, I think that is not really true. Fiscally, we all have different points of view. Bodies are made for that: to divide de mind. They occupy space and I can't see an object from the place you see it at the same time. And things, events, people, they all have different meanings for anyone of us... Definitely not the same world... Isn't this the play we are performing as a disassociated consciousness that believes it is inside a skull?
Yes , Its is inside Skull .. The Human psychological mind is nothing but Maya .. The Brahman is non sticky .. the bottom line question why this Brahman want to become Human Mind ? , but when we put this in other word .. . Its a question to non -dual .Mind by a dual mind .
dual mind cannot look the view point of non- dual mind ......Opps there is no way out to suffering for Dual -MIND ...... Sad thing
Hi Vasu! As you say, a dual mind always hurts! Separation hurts like hell, to us, who think it can be real. But it's a dream, isn't it? A dream in the Mind we really are and never actually happened, or we wouldn't even exist to experience this.
