This is a beautifully jazzy, dynamic rendition, Josh - the only thing that's missing is Ed O'Brien's awesome descending guitar flourish (I don't know how else to describe it, but I feel like you know what I mean - he does it right before the drums kick in).
Thanks very much. There are always so many layers to try to incorporate into an arrangement, so after listening to the track a few times I just let the track evolve organically. Sometimes some parts make it and some don't :-)
I thought I was getting good at slowing down my addition to Radiohead's music... That was until I tasted this new drug, that is listening to your wonderful 'montages' at the piano. Thanks for the kind words. I currently do not have the licences to allow other people to use either the audio or video. I'm looking into how I can make this possible, but not sure that I'd like to go down that path just yet - maybe with some of my original compositions, where there won't be as many legal complications. hey Josh great arrangement as always. i have just one little point of critique; could you please release the tension on the snaredrum (i assume) when you record your next piece?

All good. You can see the pedalling in the top left hand corner of the clip. Out of curiosity, is it matching the sound that you're hearing?
Yeah , I agree , Amazing Work as always , but the pedal noise i think bothers me a bit ,
If you listen to most solo piano recordings, you will often hear the pedal noise. It can be challenging to extract the sound of the piano without catching a little bit of the pedal. Some people prefer the sound, others don't. I've used tape microphones before in the past (which you mount under the soundboard), but haven't been able to track down a pair recently. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
Josh, you had uploaded an older version of this a few years back. Is that one still available? Not to say this one isn't great, but I really loved the first one you put up. Thanks.

Hi josh,could you tell me a little bit about this chords progression?
Hey thanks very much. Not sure how much you know about harmony, but these chords are definitely not diatonic chords (meaning they don't belong to the standard major scale/key). I'm sure there are some harmony enthusiasts out there who could justify the harmonic progression here, but it's a little beyond how deep I like to analyse harmony. For example, I've always resonated with a C Major triad to Ab Major, or even C Major to F# Major (same progression in the whistle here: ua-cam.com/video/qUNyQTUOW1M/v-deo.html), even though the harmony isn't diatonic. Is there anyone out there who can elaborate?

Ah cool, no worries. Worthwhile having a read online about diatonic harmony. There are heaps of great sites online explaining the concepts in a less convoluted way.

Thank you for letting this piece breathe. One of my absolute favorite things about specific Radiohead songs like Everything In Its Right Place, Codex, Pyramid Song, and especially this song is that they are very consistent in themselves. They give themselves room to grow and evolve, but keep themselves confined at the same time. What I love about your arrangements is you breathe life into them, take the potential that they have and grow from it, turn that reverence and grace into something more, make it more human while still retaining that sense of almost robotic consistency, almost like bringing a cyborg to life. Thank you.

Dude!!! Can't remember if this was one of the ones I requested months ago but as soon as I saw it pop up, I had to give it a listen. You must have a blast doing the arrangements and you do them so well, the interpretations of all the parts, falling chord progressions in the closing minutes, as always....amazing job man!!!
