Carson901 just got the model kit. I'm ordering a proline micro crawler for parts. But now I'm looking for the best leaf springs for the realism factor. I am also making a rear cab racerback and a Lund cab visor. But now I'm stuck between painting the body Red, blue, or white. What's your opinion?
Your own opinon on color is most important ofcourse! I always lean towards black (maybe white), because color wil make it look toy-ish. If you want to do color, i advise not to go with really vibrant/hard colors. Real cars also use toned down colors mostly, so choose that if you want scale looks :) But it's your build, you should enjoy it!
Hey man, if its no issue, could you possibly tell me the measurements of the links? Ive been dreaming of building a truck like this (I have a 2000 ext cab Z71) and i finally came across a one of these model kits. i really want to do the same, but the only part that stumps me is the link lengths. If you possibly have those, i would be forever grateful! Thank you!
Great to hear you are doing a similar project, would be fun to see! Did you find the exact same resell model? My link lengths (ball-center to ball-center) are: Front-bottom: 39mm Front-top: 38mm Rear-Bottom: 78mm Rear-Top: 76mm However, i do highly recommend you measure your own needed lengths. The different kind of twists and bends to move freely round frame parts are hard convey in measurements. Luckily, the threaded ball cups allow for fine tuning of the lengths afterwards. I managed mine with a little trial and error, i have no doubt you will succeed as well. Good luck!
Carson901 Thank you so much!!! Yes I’m using the same Revell model! But, in the time since I’ve commented that I’ve actually been working on something even cooler. I took two Revell kits and cut/molded them together. I made one crew cab long bed truck out of two extended cabs using perfect scaled down measurements of my real life CCLB Chevy. All that I have left is a little bit of body filler and paint! (And if course working out the rc chassis to! I’ll post a video on her when I get it done!
Thank you so much! It was a very fun build also. The body is made from a plastic model kit by Revell. It's actually ment for just sitting on a self after buildin/painting, but the dimensions work perfectly for the Losi Micro Crawler parts! Revell has lost of different car models, i got mine on ebay cause it was discontinued. (lot of them are now days)
Revell doesnt, they only make plastic model kits in the 1/28 - 1/20 range ment for sitting on a shelve. If you want a 1/10 crawel/scaler body with great detail you should search for "1/10 hard body". There are quite some out there, mostely for scaler builds
That would be great. If you want you can do it on media file or I could somehow PM you somewhere and give you my email or something. Which ever you prefer
Very Nice build!! Thank's for showing how you did it!!
Beautiful truck bro and good video greetings from Mission TX
This inspired me to work on a revell 1989 f350 Losi crawler.
That's great! i'd like to see it:)

Nice job on video and build. Can I ask what the rc donor chassis was?

How can I get all the shale of the truck
1/24th scale Plastic model kit by the brand Revell
That's a great build! What model kit did you use for the body? Thanks!
RC Newb Thanks alot! i used the Revell '99 Silverado CK. They're hard to find nowdays though, but i think you can make most models work
Carson901 do you think Thay make 1/10 bodys like this one
