- My 2,123rd kite video. After several stormy days, this one seemed likely to be totally windless, but I went to the beach anyway, and had a pleasant surprise.
Anyone wanting to check out all my "How to..." videos on various aspects of kite-flying can now find them all easily on my Playlist at / jimskitesnz . - Розваги
Thanks to no wind, it was a nice that you showed us the surrounding areas of the dunes, the paths to the beach and the washed out beach. You see these everyday but it's new to me and others. It's winter time, do take care Jim.
It's strange that to you in Singapore winter is unknown. Here in NZ it's far less severe than in many other places, so we don't appreciate how others have such a hard time for several months of each year. I'm glad you enjoyed the views of the beach.
...."I felt a breeze stirring".. I had to laugh....so many times, we are sitting at the beach, waiting for that elusive breeze to return...
It reminds me of surfers...waiting for the cry.."surf's up!"..
Yes, it's a problem having an interest that is so weather-dependent, but perhaps flying every day would become boring. I did once manage to fly seven days in succession, but not always with great success.
I’m looking out of the window in Bingley, West Yorkshire. It’s 9th July, it’s cold, the sky is grey and it’s been raining since I woke up. Thank you for the blue skies.
Winter here, summer in Bingley, and the weather seems to be reversed! I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Nice video Jim. I liked the shots of the surrounding area. The storm really ate away the beach. Thanks Jim!
I thought it would be good to show a little more of our flying area, Dewey. I'm happy that you enjoyed it.
It was very good. It was interesting. It would something to see you in action before flying.
Very nice kites...my favorites ...Skate and Morea...thanks for sharing..
Glad you like them, Craig! They are great kites for light breezes.
Surprise kite flying sir 👍🏼👍🏼
I'm glad you liked it, Vikram.
Always nice to see your videos!
Thank you for watching and commenting, Evan!
Kites looked great. Enjoyed the interesting views of the beach and dunes.
A long time since you've been there, Carl. It hasn't changed much, but it's time you made another visit, bringing some good weather with you.
Very cool Jim, Ron
I was happy just to get those three in the air, Ron, as it looked for sure like a "no-fly" day.
Good video for the small wind. Thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks for watching!
Same here Peterrat in East Hampshire. Pouring down 😓.
Nice to see a blue sky with lovely kites in it ! Cheers Jim !!!
Sorry to hear that - my memories of English summers 50 years ago are rather more pleasant, but perhaps I only remember the good bits!
I am sure you are flying more in your winter than we are in our summer in the UK Jim, its been rubbish so far!
@rougham56 I'm sorry to hear that, Pete. My son manages a big garden centre in Sussex, and he complains that the weather is ruining the business.
Interesting. A old scooter buddy is manager of Haselmere Garden Centre !!!!@@JimNicholls
@TheKRU251 I ran a garden centre here in NZ for several years, which is where my son gained his interest before moving (back) to the UK.
Hello Jim, thank you for all you videos. I have bought several kites based on your recommendations. I want to send you an article that was written when me and a friend were asked to take 12 kites down that were flying great on a perfect kite day. It is a disgrace what is happening in Buffalo New York on the waterfront.
That sounds bad. There have been lots of places around the world where local authorities have banned kites for no good reason. Single-line kites are pretty harmless in almost all situations, but some people just seem to dislike them.
I must add a Pointer to my kitebag.
If you can find one! The ones that were made by Premier Kites years ago were good and well-priced. As far as I know, the only ones available now are direct from Ceewan in Malaysia and are quite expensive. Nice kites if you can get one.
Hey Jim. How are you? nice video, thanks for sharing
Hello Henk. I'm not bad, thanks, getting too close to my 84th birthday but still managing to get out and fly when our winter weather permits. I hope things are going well in your part of the world.
@@JimNicholls if you remember me. im from the netherlands, everything good here.
@@Henk4183 Yes, I certainly know where you are, Henk. I'm happy to know that all's well, and maybe a few kites are flying.
Where do u get rare and exotic kites like that ??? I’m actually curious
I bought mine years ago when they were available. Now, you'd have to search for them second-hand, maybe on eBay or similar sites.
Jim, it is not letting me add the link
I don't think UA-cam likes links to sites other than its own.
