Shanty Songs , St.Ives.Cornwall, November 2023

The tradition of singing shanty songs is a yearly event in Cornwall- people come from various areas to engage in singing songs . I find the songs and the celebrations kind of fun although I am not a singer of the songs. It is related somewhat to the days of galleons and pirates in my view. There are traditional songs that bring people together. I like the way people dress up for the celebrations and enjoy each others company. Fortunately the weather was quite good and the Western Hotel was absolutely packed out with loads of visitors and locals. It's quite good to keep these traditions going.

Theres little point in trying to sing when there is no order in the pub. Waste of time putting this up on tube
