I edited this into a single video file, removing the mission start screens in the process and also moving the bonus clips to the end of the video.
This is the PC version of the game, made using a program called Hourglass. Tool Assisted speedrunning involves using emulation or other special tools to enable save states, frame advance, demo recording, and deterministic playback of a given game. This lets you choose exactly what buttons are pressed every frame, letting you "build" the perfect run.
I'll add timecodes for every mission when I get around to it.
Also, THANKS TO UA-cam FOR MURDERING THE QUALITY IN COLD BLOOD. This shit was 480p and it reduced it to 240p! GET FUCKED, UA-cam!

This is simply one of the best and most efficiantly executed TAS videos. Really shows how overpowered that Dante truly is if he was to not hold back at all, fucking unstoppable. The way Vergil got his ass kicked in Mission 20 lol he fucked him up sooo hard
That Real Impact at 8:10 was so awesome it gave the game an epileptic seizure. LOL.
The amount of time it took for the animation to complete was CRAZY like he didn't even do the spinning attack at the end for a while lol

UA-cam fucking ate my quality! The original video file is 480p. I went to the trouble of ripping from nicovideo during the non-economy hours for the highest quality video and then youtube ruined it. Baaaaah!
Yeah, this is surprisingly a really stylish speedrun. I think a lot of games in this category don't do so well for speedruns, but this one worked out great.
Evilagram's Crit Points Dante can't help but be stylish even in the most intense speedruns.

@Edward Jaquez you probably got your answer by now but in case you didn't, the dante boss in dmc4 was really good a parrying, or so I've heard, never played 4.
@@jamuraijak9886 That's about right. 4's Dante can switch to any of five styles when you are playing as him but the boss version can switch between four of them.
When he says "RoyalGuard", he will basically block any attack if not Release against you if you get too close. You can bait the guard with a whiffed move and Nero can grab him, but it is still terrifying.
Other characters can fight that boss Dante in Bloody Palace if not the campaign in 4 Special Edition.

This is really deliciously played. I forgot all about this game. DMC has this dark tint to the game because it has more hedonism. This is dark because it is more gothic. I love the reboot's streamlined controls.

It's the just release skip, you can skip the whole bridge using Royalguard and aiming for the end of the zone

Also what style is he using?
dinospitter Primarily royal guard so he can cancel stingers to move faster. He uses a few others though depending on circumstance.
Also this isn't a human player, it's a tool assisted speedrun. You can still learn from it, but don't beat yourself up because a number of tricks are close to humanly impossible.

Okay, what actually happened there? I blinked and he was on the other side of the map, that had to be some kind of world breaking tech.
I don't know and honestly neither does anyone else that I've asked.
Its a zip glitch, idk the specifics of it but he got his character to zip to the other side of the map somehow. He probably got out of bounds somehoe so the game fpllowed his momentum and put him on the part of the map closest to whatever direction he was going.
I think it has to do with him being on a the jagged edge slop thing and a royal release.

Probably recorded the TAS between multiple different saves or with notable time gaps (can't be helped with how long this takes).
It would have been nice for it to be seamless (no mismatched health, Orbs etc) but it doesn't affect the video in a big way.

@@violentjingo7899the royal guard rage meter was filled up at the end of the giant chess board fight. Then the style was switched but switching back to RG still preserved that rage meter.

I had a look, and I have no earthly idea. I forgot that was in this. I simply have no clue how it was done.
Knight_Rhoden lol. I am. This playthrough wasn't done by me, and it wasn't done in real-time. Essentially, someone used a tool that can slow the game down, so they can select which buttons they want pressed on a particular frame, then advance it to the next frame.
Kirmore: that's Royal Guard's Just Release aimed at the enemy that's on the other side.

Mission 1 to 10 can be more fast. I found some techniques at mission 11.
So I wanna recreate mission1 to 10 someday.

I think it's amazaing and you put alot fo work and effort in this, but since you are not going for a maximum time save you could use more weapon and style variety to make it more interesting.
