I used to work seasonal for kohls so i always wondered what its like to work in Sephora i worked there only two times during a shift and i was so confused i dont know much about make up i dont use it so i was wondering which is harder if anyone has done both?

Oof depends on what you did at Kohls! If you were a cashier then it’s a little more challenging because the clients expect you to know about all of the products and to guide them and help them / test products on them so it can be a lot more hands on and can require good communication and listening skills. But the Sephora training also gives different methods on how to connect with the clients- also the pay is different so I think it’s kind of unfair that they throw associates from other departments in to cover when they’re short staffed (unless they offer/ want to)

Are you full time or part time ? Does that depend on the position ?

So I’m only part time, but the full timers did the same orientation and four day online sales training as us. Our sales lead, operations lead, and team leader were the only full time positions at our store- the rest of us are part time beauty advisors. If you’re going for full time beauty team leader, there’ll be way more online training to complete and shadowing at other stores for additional training from what our team leader told us, since they’re basically acting as our manager. Was the 4 day sales training/zoom meetings paid like the orientation was?

Yup, it was paid and they scheduled out each day for us - we just had to log the 8hrs in on a hour log sheet that we were given during orientation and send in a scanned copy to one of our Kohl’s managers to put on payroll :)
