Well done. I started surfing there in 1965. Many nights during school term sleeping in my VW van and waking up to overhead surf with offshore winds. The smell of chaparral blowing down from the canyons. And nobody out. My van the only car there. No Internet in those days. You had to be there to score. Now I'm an old man retired in New Zealand. My advice to you young surfer dudes: Go out and get it. There's a great big world out there. Do it while you can.
@@RaulEdu33 Alot of great waves between Oxnard and Jalama (about a 2 hour drive). And many great points between Ventura and Gaviota. I'm sure you will be a "happy camper."
1971..moved to Ventura after 5 years in the service..I'm just 22...bought a Velzy Jacobs and started surfing at C Street...where I learned..it was a great break and some epic days were had...just before the short board invasion..still and all I did go down in length...good times...
Excellent captures! Bernie. You did a great job!!! keeping up with them (not easy), and with the Zoom; a safe distance away. I did this once at steamers lane and almost got into it with a surfer lol. Keep em coming!
Thx Al. One surfer came up and shared he'd prefer no buzzing sound but the rest of them were showing off for the Mavic. No zoom in this edit, It was hard enough in regular view.
Thx for stopping by my channel and checking out a few of my vids Shaun. Guess you have a bit of time to kill lately and I appreciate the time you spent here.👍
Thx Bud, I set out to catch Dolphins but they were not cooperating so I set my sites on chasing surfers. After flying 4 batteries and a few close calls, this is what I got. Glad u liked.👍
Thx Don, lol. We had 2 up and continually calling out elevations. Had a spotter too but liked it better when I was up alone. Went for Dolphins but got surfers instead. Made Lemonade.
You and the two joysticks are one... otherwise the surfers wouldn't stay centered. Those who think they could do that with a drone and stay that close to the water should go out there and give it a go. Be prepared to upgrade.

Thx for your comment clarkewi🙏
I don't surf but I do a bunch of other stuff like droning. You are right tho, get out there and do stuff while you can!
Great advice, thanks for sharing your story 🏄💯👌 I'm moving to Ventura soon because of work, I will definitely be spending time out on the water.

Beautiful... 🤙🏽Reminds me of point break.🤙🏽Love the footage Bernie. The dolphin was a cool bonus
Thx Chris, I was getting the hang of it by the 4th battery. There was a lot of hover around and waiting. Wished I was lower and closer, lol 🤙

A lot of talent on and above the waves! Great tracking, Bernie! How do they avoid tragedy without remote ID?!
