I actually enjoy watching the athletes, altho some ppl find it boring. It's almost like I can feel the focus and calm in their eyes and their reactions as/after they shoot
They're certainly the most impressive to watch at first glance, but I tried air pistol the other day a I've got a real newfound respect for those athletes
Personally I'm an Olympic air rifle shooter and I realized most people who watch shooting are either the athletes or former athletes. Hopefully I'm wrong.
Probably, I genuinely didn't know it was a sport until about 10 mins ago 🤷🏽♂️ (let alone an Olympic one) I still don't understand how it qualifies as a sport but that's besides the point 😅
+James the dwarf remove events if there's not enough athletes to make it competitive. presumably there wasn't enough countries fielding women Shooters in that event
Shawn Darling Some shooters are trained to shoot with both eyes open like you said, however, most shooters block 1 eye with a blinder so that their dominant eye is the one which is the eye they aim with is clearer and more focused. Im shooting 10m air pistol and I use a blinder myself
In trap shooting, the targets are launched from a single "house" or machine, generally away from the shooter. In skeet shooting, targets are launched from two "houses" in somewhat "sideways" paths that intersect in front of the shooter. Sporting clays includes a more complex course, with many launch points, it's bassically shooting golf and it's a ton of fun.
There is only 2 disciplines that uses .22lr now, 50m three positions and 25 meters since they got rid of 50m prone because it was male only. Now most rifle and pistol use .177 pellets.
Maybe because it takes extreme skill and nerves of steel to do the things these people do? Get your anti gun rhetoric out of here and have a little respect.
+Ragnar Jackson Rotich nope false, there is a qualification round in wich the shooters on for an example air rifle shoot 40 or 60 shots depending on gender. Then the top 8 goes into the final. In the above clips its the final that they show
I'd beg to differ considering I participate in the shooting events. Sure it may not have the immense following as say swimming but it has thousands of competitors across the globe. These events expand well beyond just the Olympics too, with the Commonwealth Games, Oceanic Games, ISSF World Cups etc. etc. This isn't some small 'even't that you 'can't name' simply because it isn't on the tv 24/7 like swimming. God it'd be boring if all we had were just track and field and swimming. Where I'm from the station that got the rights to cover the last Olympics only showed bloody swimming. The shooting events do actually have a large following around the world.

The shotgunners are really the most impressive, imo

ur wrong! it looks pretty interesting to me, I would love to do it after covid ends

@@hauntingthegrave Well what's the difference between disc or javelin throwing, or archery?
Assasin here lol😅
In the same vein as an E-sport athlete.
Can't wait to see Shotgun, D.Reau and J.Rossi again !!!

NATIONALIST CHANNEL @yes you are eligible with glasses
Yusuf dikec says yes
Thanks for the quick guide 😝
So How many of you expect Abhinav Bindra to win another gold?
Satyam Srivastava Abhinav Sir retired form shooting in 2015 for nation or inter nation match because of age
So you're saying that there's only men's double trap but the woman at the end won a gold medal in double trap?
Women's Double Trap was part of the Olympic programme for Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004.
+Olympic And why was it removed? Not meaning to be rude or something, just curious.
+James the dwarf remove events if there's not enough athletes to make it competitive. presumably there wasn't enough countries fielding women Shooters in that event
Tony Zan Hopefully they will drop women from all the shooting sports.
Hear me out they should introduce lever action rifles in the Olympics
Is the blocking one eyes thing a rule or a benefit for the shooters?
Most of shooters do it, but it's not a rule. There are shooters who use both eye.
e.g 1:25
MrTen.nine thanks
Bostonzo B Actually it's a disadvantage it helps to keep both eyes open.

Only thing i want to know what the sights looks like
Why are all these older olympic videos unavailable?
Me trying to learn more about this after the Turkish guy and the Corean girl 😂
Is 4 am where I live😂😂 pulling an all nighter
Good luck
Gl!
Thats AWESOME
Weird how it isn't an open event :/
Now, what are trap, skeet and double trap about?
In trap shooting, the targets are launched from a single "house" or machine, generally away from the shooter. In skeet shooting, targets are launched from two "houses" in somewhat "sideways" paths that intersect in front of the shooter.

.22 and 12 ga

Wow, the music on the Olympic channel is TERRIBLE!
YO
Until they put a decent shooting sport in there like ipsc or 3-gun, olympic shooting will always be boring as f**k.
Sorry, but in the Olympics, you should actually be required to hit the target.
@@atozed932 i gave you a thumbs up for being simple! Yay benji!!
Just realised this was a sport this year. Why it's still in the Olympics I dunno 🤷🏽♂️
Better this than “women” with penises lifting weights tbh…
Count your blessing and just dont watch if you dislike it being there i guess
Maybe because it takes extreme skill and nerves of steel to do the things these people do?
Get your anti gun rhetoric out of here and have a little respect.
why shouldn't it be? The amount of weapons and gun owners is larger than ever before:
it takes skill more than you realise. in that sense, horse riding shouldnt even be a sport then
There are too many events in shooting!
why?
Squibbins Squeegler it is boring and easier to win medals there.
+Ragnar Jackson Rotich dude obviously you know Nothing about shooting competetions
JoyIsNiceDK there are not many competitors. So it is much easier to win medals there than in any athletics event.
+Ragnar Jackson Rotich nope false, there is a qualification round in wich the shooters on for an example air rifle shoot 40 or 60 shots depending on gender. Then the top 8 goes into the final. In the above clips its the final that they show
if you want to save your guns vote MAXIME BERNIER PPC.

+mirkthirteen being honest barely anyone watches this shooting thing whatever it's called
