    Everything you need to know about Olympic Shooting.
    A supreme test of accuracy, shooting made its Olympic debut at Athens 1896, the first Games of the modern era. In Rio, competitors will battle to reach the podium in nine men’s and six women’s events, all individual.

    The shotgunners are really the most impressive, imo

      They're certainly the most impressive to watch at first glance, but I tried air pistol the other day a I've got a real newfound respect for those athletes

    I actually enjoy watching the athletes, altho some ppl find it boring. It's almost like I can feel the focus and calm in their eyes and their reactions as/after they shoot

    Personally I'm an Olympic air rifle shooter and I realized most people who watch shooting are either the athletes or former athletes. Hopefully I'm wrong.

    Is the blocking one eyes thing a rule or a benefit for the shooters?

    • @bigmatee

    • @CrazyGamer3047
      @CrazyGamer3047 6 років тому +4

      Shawn Darling Some shooters are trained to shoot with both eyes open like you said, however, most shooters block 1 eye with a blinder so that their dominant eye is the one which is the eye they aim with is clearer and more focused. Im shooting 10m air pistol and I use a blinder myself

    Now, what are trap, skeet and double trap about?

    • @SUPERkING0052
      @SUPERkING0052 8 років тому +8

      In trap shooting, the targets are launched from a single "house" or machine, generally away from the shooter. In skeet shooting, targets are launched from two "houses" in somewhat "sideways" paths that intersect in front of the shooter.
      Sporting clays includes a more complex course, with many launch points, it's bassically shooting golf and it's a ton of fun.

      I'd beg to differ considering I participate in the shooting events. Sure it may not have the immense following as say swimming but it has thousands of competitors across the globe. These events expand well beyond just the Olympics too, with the Commonwealth Games, Oceanic Games, ISSF World Cups etc. etc. This isn't some small 'even't that you 'can't name' simply because it isn't on the tv 24/7 like swimming. God it'd be boring if all we had were just track and field and swimming. Where I'm from the station that got the rights to cover the last Olympics only showed bloody swimming.
      The shooting events do actually have a large following around the world.
