Civilian casualties by Israeli strikes in schools appalling : UK’s UN ambassador | Janta Ka Reporter

- UK’s permanent representative to the United National, Barbara Woodward, has performed a spectacular U-turn on her position on the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza and West Bank. Speaking at the Security Council, she condemned Israeli expansion of illegal settlement in the West Bank and termed the recent murders of Palestinians by Israel in schools appalling.
I just posted a comment , that didn’t post of course. Im reading the other comments and mine is in the same line. I wrote “talk is cheap, lip service only as her boss still supports the crimes she listed”
YT has been behaving awkwardly.

Illegal and condemn but still support Hypocrisy.
Only BS talk and no action.
*Waffle without substance*
We have never seen such attitude from spokesman of UK. Specially they have always plaid the role of tail of USA
@ahabderrahim5730
They are broke...
They cannot sustain supply of free ammo anymore.
US veto woman, exactly the same bs.
UK is utterly complicit, weasel words as usual.
The English Government.
@@audreymcgready4329 Yes, that is more accurate.
Mainly Sunak is complicit since he thought his support can support his PM and hypocrisy with towards the US. He got what he deserved from the British public
@@Arthur19751he got to give his father in law a billion quid of our tax money.. yea we showed him
Im in a wait and see for the new government. One thing is for sure, they weren't speaking against israel before. Since the elections the UK has spoken more in support for Palestine and against israel they all the time before combined. So something has changed. Time will tell.
Appalled, but still delaying an arrest warrant being issued for Netanyahu, still pretending to have not seen legal advice that would suspend arms sales and still not releasing funding for UNRWA. Still not introducing sanctions on the West Bank. Hollow, meaningless words.
Spot on, well said
I understand Britain has withdrawn that protest on jurisdiction, meaning the arrest warrant can be considered by the ICC without further interruption. Im surprised to hear the UK government hasnt resumed funding UNRWA. Here in Australia that funding was resumed quite a while ago.
She said ‘we re-affirm our support for UNWRA’ 😂
@@tileux... and Starmer, as soon as elected, 'U'-turned. That man canno t be trusted.
@@tileux The new UK government said it was going to withdraw the legal challenge to the warrants being issued, but the USA immediately put the UK under pressure not to do so. The foreign minister then went over to shake hands with Netanyahu. As of writing the challenge has not been withdrawn.
I don’t think she convinced herself with this speech.
Expressing concern about the crimes of Israel is their way of saying “I don’t care about the crimes but I’m worried about how it will affect our interests”. They are concerned about themselves and only themselves.
Can they hear themselves? 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
I definitely doubt so!
The UK all talk and no action.
Of course. NATO= No Action Talk Only.
Judge people and governments on what they do, not what they say.
Yet they have blocked the ICC?
NO, our new government is no longer blocking the ICC. So ignorant of the real news??
Major shift from UK, under Keir Kid Starver! Amazing the same person who supported the illegal activities is now condemning them without batting an eye lid! Such as skill! I was half expecting the girl at the back to burst out laughing and saying its just a joke!
I somehow feel if Starmer condemned Israel before the election, labour may have had problems getting in. It’s very late, but a condemnation is a start at trying to put things right and a truer perspective on a hellish situation. Hopefully
Not really Starmer spouts words when it suits him but as
@richardhart3911 above points out what is needed is the actions to back up these words. Something Starmer will never do,
@@ngiles1000 Starmer said that he is a " Zionist without qualification” and never called for a ceasefire, on the contrary.
He would not have been elected if he had said anything against Israel.
As a diplomat you say what the elected government of your country tells you to say, or resign.
I don't believe a single word this woman said. - all talk and no actions.
NATO fits them well By the way...
She's a diplomat and expresses the will of the British government which has altered (a little) over the last month - she's not giving her own opinion, duh!
Weird. I was today years old when I found out the capital of England is Washington DC. I always thought it was London 🤷♂️
UK has been run from Washington DC for generations now, ALL its foreign policy is written in DC and its Domestic Policy is mostly written in conjunction with the big US Corporations.
isn't their capital in tel aviv?
@sajoikic5293
I guess we answer to Washington while Washington answers to tel aviv
Don’t forget the advisers in Golders Green

They always say it's "illegal under international law" but they never do anything about it. Curious.
because it ISN'T illegal under international law, its just idiotic political rhetoric
@@rogerjohnson2562so what 🇮🇱 is doing is not in violation with int. Law and Human rights?
@@rogerjohnson2562 What is your opinion on the settlements?
Israel war crimes show that there is no more international law or that it is not worth the paper it's written on
It has now come to light that a 22 year old man suffering from downs syndrome and dyslexia. While in his own home with his mother. Had a dog set upon him by the IDF. While his mother looked on. His injuries were so severe that he died from them. He was prevented medical care and was left in another room for two weeks. His family was prevented from entering the home during this time. He died a painful death all alone from the dog attack. During the dog attack the man patted the dog and repeatedly said thats enough. He was saying to the dog what he wanted the dog handler to say. But stood by silent. My eyes have watered up writing this.
That was horrifying and could only be done by those against God .
Against God, against Humanity, against any divine and human Law. Very dark times.
This should not be allowed or overlooked.
That shows what kind of people we are dealing with. They have the sickest mentality and they are the worst of mankind.
This is the evil of the most fking humane army in the world. What a disgraceful apartheid state . The US is fully complicit.
She will say what she is told to say ,and get well paid for it.
Well of course, she is a civil servant and expresses the will of the elected government which is what she is obliged to do if she serves her country. No, they aren't that well paid considering their experience and qualifications, they get some nice perks and usually a title for towing the line.
I'm so tired of their "serious concern".
Bunch of hypocrites.
Front of camera we condemn but under the table we fully support pure hypocrisy 🤮
Israel is doing exactly the opposite of what she said... I wonder why?
Am I living in a parallel universe wtf?!!
A lot of pretense from her in the aftermath of an early visit by the UK Foreign Secretary to Israel that gave continued support to the war criminal regime there.
'Tackling the disproportionate focus on Israel in the UN and other international bodies, including attempts to delegitimise it or deny its right to self-defence. All states have a duty to comply with their obligations under international law, but scrutiny must be measured, impartial and proportionate. The UK and Israel will work together to tackle the singling out of Israel in the Human Rights Council as well as in other international bodies. In this context, the UK and Israel disagree with the use of the term ‘apartheid’ with regard to Israel.
The UK and Israel believe that the latest ICJ referral on the Israeli- Palestinian conflict represents an inappropriate recourse to the Advisory Opinion mechanism as this undermines the efforts to achieve a settlement through direct negotiations between the parties, which remains the only viable path to a lasting peace.' Sunak and Starmer's 2030 'roadmap' with Israel . . .

Isn't this the same woman who vetoed ceasefires more than once? What hypocracy.
She is just a mouthpiece
Israel's security but nothing about Palestinian safety, see how this clown talked?
Gradually, gradually, the horrid UK representative touches the surface of truth. She has a long, long way to go before she is truly honest....well after being complicit in Israel's genocide. Not a single 'sorry' or 'we lied' or 'are now on the side of truth.'. I am appalled.
Is she a war criminal for supporting genocide of Palestinians?
Im sick of hearing "We are concerned"....its insulting to the Palestinian people that nothing is done to stop the slaughter.
Which one? Are you not winning the war? Why stop?
More lies and hypocrisy
Two faced comes to mind when hearing her speech.
We keep hearing this. Where is the result?
Still full of victim blaming.
Utter BS
The UN is!
Playing both sides welcome to coward mentality
BUT STARMER SUPPORTS IT AS HE WORKS FOR A FOREIGN COUNTRY ISRAEL UK YOU HAVE FAILED CATASTROPHICALLY
Then why doesn't UK recognise Palestine?
Not a peep about this on the BBC, of course.
So why when it comes to votes against the wrongs of Israel does Britain abstain?
Where is mainstream media all complicit infuriating
Was the point of UN these days only lip service! All the UN officials just says how horrible everything is ??
Blah, blah, blah, status quo.
Don’t you block ICC decision??? What a hypocrite!!!
No we don't - the new government withdrew its objection, so not a hypocrite on that matter. Look out for Lammy's declaration about the legal status of UK offering Israel military support and financial support for its Gaza war, should be revealed soon..
Not only condemnation by word of mouth only. Where is the condemnation by action!
Condemnation by mouth only without consumerate action is known as HYPOCRISY!
How many of these settlers are British (especially English)?

Not so many, more Brit-Israelis in Israel that the occupied regions.

This is all very well but will the British do anything.
UK cut aid..kier starmer did not support ceasefire...whats changed?
80 years too late
I'm shocked that she's singing a different tune. After voting and vetoing against Palestine
Change of UK government and shift in rhetoric - keep up with the news FFS.
What a show behind the scenes you support Israel.
WHAAAATTTTTTT, she just woke up!!!!!!!
Duh, the UK has a new government - that's what has changed - a shift in perspective.
What is the ICC doing? did they get lost during the deliberation?
All talk no action

Right of return?
This woman is a 10p postage stamp if you know what i mean.
Perfidious Albion strikes again
Why insult the diplomat who is only relaying the UK government's stance.
She does and says what her masters in Westminster tell her to say…she’s just a spokesperson @ the UN… U-turn is not hers as she doesn’t work independently
Exactly.
UK is concerned... nothing much...
Is this the turning point to saving humanity of the world? My respect for the UK Ambassador will be restored if justice comes out from this
The ambassador only relays the current government position. She doesn't formulate foreign policy - she's a civil servant and not an elected representative. You really have no idea what her private thoughts are on the matter - she's professional and only delivers the wishes of our government.
Where is the ICC
In NL
She hasn't performed a U-turn on HER position. THe UK government has changed. However, it's all meaningless bullshit without actions. Starmer is trying to make himself look good without actually doing anything.
So true.
Two faced keir and his government nowhere to be seen for the innocent Palestinians victims before the elections
Peace family
But what the f you gonna do about it? Show concern? What a joke
Why not just acknowledge Palestine as of pre 1967 borders like you said you would!

DELAYING ARREST WARRANTS SHOWS THAT YOUR NOT FULLY COMMITTED AND THIS UNDERMINES PEACE
Stop spreading BS - the opposition to the ICJ has been withdrawn.

chalk and cheese here..same person, different story
Different government has come to power - that's why the position has changed.
Why now Britain?
Terrible isn't in when crap platforms like AdTube, delete your comments. ****s
Anyone know if the UK stop sending weapons to Israel?
Not yet, but that is relatively small - the main thing is the military support we are actively giving to Israel. Now he is in government, Lammy says he's looking into whether he can share the legality of our position in a public statement to Parliament - expecting a response any week now and I'm sure opposition MPs will keep asking him if he doesn't.
She defended the genocide SHE DID not the people of Britain 🇬🇧.
9 months later.... well, I'm grateful that, at last, you bloody woke up to reality.
Yet they still send weapons 😒
Funny how she is not so animated, when talking against the offenders! She's gone all sombre and sullen, bless!
UK reps are always like that when delivering statements about war or humanitarian tragedy. Do you expect diplomats to be cracking a smile when they are discussing civilian casualties?
@@edelgyn2699 Perhaps you don't recognise how excited and animated she gets when she criticises the resistance and how sullen and slapped arse she gets when she {probably forced to) criticises the invasive occupying enemy, I do!

where was the UK 8 months ago?
Is she going to stop arming Isreal?
You're really thick, do you think she has a market stall where she sells small arms and explosives?
Why these "compassionate" words now when the UK has been voting against a ceasefire for nearly a year. There is no "imminent risk of famine". Famine has been ongoing for months now, we have all seen the children who have been reduced to living skeletons.
Because we've had a new government come to power - that is why there is a change in the message.
Britain has fallen and it can't get up.
This woman is completely constipated and out of place.
Imagine going to sleep and waking up in year 3024
Is she testifying against herself?
Gee... I'm shocked. I had no clue...
Looks like all those votes for pro-Palestinian canditates in the UK's recent election not only got 5 independent pro-Palestinian MP's elected but showed the new Labour government that a massive block of voters support the Palestinians.
And it's a big enough block of voters to make Kier Starmer change his tune. He seems a little more Palestinian light, than before the UK election.
I'm so glad i voted for the Green Party despite the Green's not getting that particular seat.

She has a different tone than under previous Government. Hopefully they show some humanity now.
