@@askdeefaircommonsense1014 I understand the point that you are attempting to make. Being a MPD officer, you know first hand how the jump outs were whooping ass on curfew sweeps, putting false charges on people, and committing crime while covering up the crimes of other officers. Unless you are white and live in Georgetown, you have a reason to fear being beat or set up by the police in DC.
Edit: I don't think all police are bad, but acknowledge that many condone or cover up the actions of the bad ones, which doesn't make them any better. All of that said, I speak from experience and also as a family member of former Assistant chief Alfred Durham.

STOP VOTING FOR DEMOCRATS! It's really that simple. There are hardly any elected democrats that want you to be able to carry a firearm. Some don't even want you to be able to buy one. It took a Supreme Court ruling to get DC to fold on handguns. I don't even know how and where a DC resident buys a gun. Maryland is hardly better. No 2nd amendment in the state constitution. MAY ISSUE state. Here in Virginia right across the bridge we have permitless open carry and are a SHALL ISSUE state. No HQLs. If you move to Virginia PLEASE LEAVE YOUR DEMOCRAT VOTE in Maryland or DC.

Actually I'm not sure what police officers you came in contact with however that was how I was able to almost triple my salary every year and pay for a home in full prior to retirement in court testifying on DUI arrests during my career. Depending on the circumstances if you are not involved in a accident and you are not belligerent some officers will give you a pass however if you are involved in a accident you are likely going to be arrested. A DUI arrest is very time consuming I retired with over a thousand arrests including arresting Rod Strickland former NBA player and Marlena Cook wife to former owner of the Redskins Jack Kent Cook. I've even had to arrest MPD Officers that were involved in accidents. The police in DC are totally different from my era so there is a better chance of driving drunk and not being stopped because of the scrutiny of law and police in most cases find it easier to do nothing and get no complaints against them. Most police no longer do traffic stops or proactively police that's one of the reasons DC has a crime pandemic so the chances are in your favor today to drive intoxicated and not get stopped however with any game if you play long enough you will lose so I wouldn't push my luck.

That was my same response after hearing Dr. Fauci speak one of many reasons I'm not vaccinated. You have a right to believe what you want to however when did I say on a video all police will be held accountable? I said all police should be held accountable for wrongdoing like a average citizen no difference. One of the main reasons police aren't held accountable is most citizens do nothing but complain and talk but won't make a complaint if you paid them against police...watch the video on how to make a complaint and tell me how truthful that is..

Those automated traffic enforcement cameras orginally were for safety however the amount of revenue made GREED come into play. The mayor took it from the oversight of the Metropolitan Police Department so they could do things differently like place them behind trees and at the bottom of hills etc..these machines aren't always calibrated and I know for fact they aren't always accurate. I'm extremely familiar with the mismanagement of the DC Government. I've received my share of tickets allegedly going 11 miles over the speed limit. A police officer wouldn't stop you for that and I honestly don't think I was traveling at that speed however it was easy to pay it. Honestly in my opinion that system is one of the most corrupt systems for revenue that exists. People have received tickets after stopping fully at stop signs so I know this to be factual...
