Gudgeon Pin Replacement at Black Rock Lock

A team from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District's Soo Locks came out to Buffalo to replace two gudgeon pins at the Black Rock Lock.
The pins facilitate the movement of the lock's gates and are essential to its operation. The team brought all of the experience and tools needed to accomplish the job, which they did over the course of two weeks.
The lock supports over 2,000 vessels and tens of thousands of tons of cargo each fiscal year, vital to commerce in the local area.
