  • I walked up Cielo Drive to the property where the Sharon Tate murders took place.
    You will see Cielo Drive, where the killers parked their car, where they walked, the telephone pole Tex Watson climbed to cut the wires to the house, and part of the property as it looks today.

    This video was done to show what Cielo looks like from beginning to end with major points as well.
    As I said, I'm going to do another one and I will stop at different spots of significance to not only Sharon Tate, but of Cielo Drive as well.

      Brian scholl the whole Bugliosi show was a lie and a farce, the reasons for the murders were a simple drug burn and was about money nothing more complicated than that but Bugliosi knew he had next to zero physical evidence and besides Atkins jailhouse confession to her cell mate the case was circumstantial so he relied on Kasabians bullshit testimony and Charlies antics to paint a picture of him and the girls to the jury as demon possesed psychos and it worked

    • @mysticsurfer3684
      @mysticsurfer3684 7 років тому +11

      Hey Brian...apologies for the incredibly long delay in replying. To answer your question the best I can, the biggest thing that is wrong is/are the conspiracy theories offering unfounded, non-evidence based explanations as to "why" something of this nature took place. Vincent Bugliosi was a "top shelf" prosecutor and to my recollection, had no reputation of fabricating cases/evidence against innocent people. His assertion that Manson and his followers perpetrated these crimes as a result of Manson's deep-rooted resentment of the entertainment industry, specifically music, and anyone associated with it... is the most plausible as it is based on evidence. Despite numerous attempts to gain acceptance by the music industry crowd, Manson's music was never taken seriously. This rejection was taken to heart and combined with other disruptions during his developmental years, Manson was completely blinded by rage and driven to seek revenge. Record producer Terry Melcher resided at 10050 Cielo just prior to Sharon and Roman. To Manson, the residence represented everything that was wrong with the world and he would then unleash his master plan of "Helter Skelter" in an attempt to set society on a new path. Manson is the product of a dysfunctional and severely damaged childhood and Sharon and her friends, unfortunatyely for them, just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
      Again, apologies for the delayed response.

    10050 Cielo Drive was the last known address that Charlie had for Terry Melcher. Terry was well known in the Hollywood recording scene and had been introduced to Manson by Beach Boy Dennis Wilson. Dennis told Terry that Manson was "weird," but also to check him out, just in case he might happen to be a great songwriter. Manson & Terry Melcher had many discussions but Melcher didn't promise Manson anything! Manson cut the demo for one of the record companies (I don't recall if it was for Capitol, A&M, or one of the other major labels) and was rejected, outright. Apparently, the song was terrible. This led back into Manson's threats on Melcher's life. When Charlie gave the "hit" order to Tex on that terrible night, he told him and the girls to "kill everybody inside!"
    Melcher had lived there on Ciello Drive for months with a roommate, Mark Lindsay (from Paul Revere & the Raiders). They owned two ocelots! Ocelots are beautiful wild cats from South America. They look like dwarf leopards! Anyway, Lindsay's and Melcher's ocelots were de-clawed (a terrible thing to do to a wild cat) and when they could finally scale the trees on the property, they would always fall off. That led Melcher to exclaim to Lindsay "We have to move to a safer place for the sake of these animals." (Never mind the fact that these people de-claw their cat's paws)!
    Melcher and Lindsay left.
    "The next renters to 10050 Cielo Drive were Director Roman Polanski and his beautiful, young and recently pregnant wife, Sharon Tate."

      Poor Sharon: all she wanted was a future with her baby boy--and the killers had to snatch even that. God bless her mother Doris and her sister Patti and help them comfort Sharon and her baby in heaven for the life they could have had. Charles Manson and Susan Atkins died in prison. It is good that Tex Watson and Leslie Van Houten have improved their lives and it is understood that they desire parole: but there is no parole for their victims and there would be no parole for the victims' families. Both of these people willfully committed murder knowing that murder is irreversible. They should have been executed; but life in prison in this case should mean life in prison. Nobody made you commit the crime; now pay your debt to society.

    My brother and I went to 10050 Cielo Drive on a visit to Los Angeles in 1980. At that time, we drove up to the original gate and it looked basically as it did in 1969. I remember being worried that someone was going to come out and tell us to leave, but fortunately no one did. I had just finished reading the book Helter Skelter and had made mental notes from the book and I was able to identify the area where the killers parked down the hill and I saw what I believe was the telephone pole near the gate where Tex Watson cut the phone wires before entering the property. You could easily see inside the wide gates…. such as the garage building with some stairs going up the side, the stone wishing well in the front yard and a partial view of that end of the main house. I was amazed how it still basically looked like the photos that had been published after the crime. I would have loved to have gotten inside the gates, but I'm sure we would have been arrested and justifiably so. LOL.

    In 1979, everything still looked like 1969. The tall chain fence still existed. It was open, and I did walk up to the point where Parent was killed in his car. That`s where I stopped. The red house was easily within sight to the right.
