Today I retrace my musical roots to revisit the first bass solo I ever learned to play, the awesome groove it bookends, and the unsung bassist that became a part of my musical language. The group is Maze (Featuring Frankie Beverly) with the unsung Robin Duhe on bass!

Finally somebody recognizes the great Robin Duhe. One of my childhood heroes too.🔥✊🏾
So good to see Robin Duhe get his just due. His Bass Grooves are insane. I always liked his Tone as well
I'm a huge Maze and Robin D. fan. I had the pleasure of playing Happy Feelings, Back in Stride, Golden Time of Day and Before I Let Go in a cover band.
One of the greatest underappreciated bands of all time. These guys are killers.
Glad you highlighted Robin Duhe . His playing on The Live Maze Album is Magnificent.
Thank you so much for shining a spotlight on Robin Duhe plus Maze featuring Frankie Beverly. I used to think of Maze as the Black Grateful Dead because they could sell out a venue with or without a current release.
Solid selection Paul and thanks for sharing. This makes me reminisce of a concert that I saw back in the day. Anita Baker opened for Maze and she and her group were phenomenal . Her bass player for this concert was Bobby Watson from Rufus. Then Maze featuring Frankie Beverly came on and amazed the audience. Robin Duhe was superb and the whole group was so damn tight.I can still hear and feel the music from that night.
The concert Maze did in New Orleans that was filmed is a complete classic. The guitar player in dressed in red was really funky and the bass player had a cool looking p bass. God bless you Paul for putting this excellent channel out there . By the way there is a track on this UA-cam called Norman Connors by the Mike Edmonds Bassic Requirement . It was released on vinyl and copies did get to Japan and Canada . It’s my tribute to that whole disco funk era
It is a joy to watch your channel and how well you break down some of the most prominent bass lines ever created. The are as fresh today as the day they were born by the talented fingers playing them. Surely, I am from that generation to have had every one of those records and I started playing bass in the early to mid seventies because of these guys and yes, including Robin Duhe! Thanks for keeping music history out in front!
I love Maze with Frankie Beverly!!!!
Once again, you knocked it out of the park. Frankie Beverly and Maze are one of my

Classic song that will forever be played..
Thank you for sharing your love for bass, and timlesss music in general.
Frankie Beverly and Maze is my all time to favorite band. My wife and I go see them every time in Los Angeles.
Great review again! I’m from the Bay Area and there was a lot of killer bass going on in the 70s. One of my favorite Maze bass lines is Too many games. Talk about funky! Check that one out!
Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly is one of the greatest R&B groups of all time.
I was blessed with the opportunity of having my band open for his band twice this past summer. Both gigs were in San Francisco. Wonderful guy and wonderful musician.
I saw them at show in Tulsa years ago, The Gap Band, Frankie Beverly & Maze & Teddy Pendergrass! Amazing! I saw 2 of my favorite bassists, Robert Wilson & Robin Duhe. Robin came out after introductions of the band & played the funkiest solo with an envelope filter/wah! I'll never forget it! Love your channel, knowledge & inspiration.
Everything I ever wanted, this blissful soul filled Melody. My my
