@Grandpierrefull True, but it doesn't usually completely shift every patch and having one either once the meta settles or near the start of the set is helpful.
This video was very helpful, I've had to step away from TFT for a few days because it was driving me so insane, I'm truly hard stuck masters going 6th and 7th every single game, and I think by far my biggest problem is how I play my early game. I always end up rolling on 8, missing everything and going out with no hp and no money losing the entirety of stage 4. As you say by that point your game trajectory is already so far along it's difficult to make a comeback.
I've been thinking about this the decisions I make at 2-1 and how impactful it is lately and i feel like I'm learning so much by reviewing myself. Btw I personally enjoy videos like this where you talk instead of game reviews.
Thank you! I've been stuck emerald 2 for a while and this is the first TFT content I've consumed, now I feel dumb for not looking on UA-cam sooner 😂 I feel like I learned so much; the 1 and 2 cost holds felt intuitive but I havent been using the best boards with them apparently. I never realized how bad my earlygame is but now I see it's absolutely awful lol. Excellent video!
I'm fine with silver augments but high tempo prismatic parties literally obliterate my board. I can barely adapt to how much faster the tempo gets when everyone is already so strong so early on.
What i can say is that you need to play with qhat you get in prismatic party. Almost never try to be weak. Always play strongest board and be creative with finding the strongest angle based on augment option. It’s very flippy and snowbally, that portal. Burgerflip
2:52 - then you track your own results across a sample population of games, follow these numbers, but also take the standard deviation to see exactly how much luck it was relative to tilt and carelessness over time.
I want to thank you for this video. I feel like I should have paid for all this very structured information you presented and I'm so happy I found your channel. One thing I wanted to say which might present as an idea for a future video (hopefully) is what can you advise a player who is like 10 LP away from the next rank to not lose his focus and basically go 8th place and lose all his progress from previous games? I noticed I have this very very bad habit of getting so excited for my potential accomplishment that I simply cannot think the same way Im thinking when I grind.
Question about zyra vs lux. Doesn't Zyra have more comps that are relevant than lux? Academy is situational depending on academy items and zyra is also in Sorcs. Zyra works in both experiments and bruiser twitch and does well with twitch items as 2 are also good AP holder items. Zyra also provides a stun so has util as well. Ideally having both 2 star is obvious. But I disagree with them being on different tiers, they should be the same.
Zyra is a much better carry for sorcs and since sorcs is so broken this patch it has to be a better unit. However, “have more comps that are relevant…” It does not matter, you won’t have any item on Zyra in these comp. And you don’t want to play twitch in this patch to climb, unless you can high-roll getting Warwick.
Lux has Psuedo Synergy with other comps as shield helps Sentinels/Watchers/Tank Items. Also, the stun is nice, but it only blocks damage from one unit, which may not be their carry whereas the shield works against the entire team and could be the difference between one more cast or not. They’re both good, but even without their verticals, I’m much more likely to keep a Lux on my board for longer than a Zyra so I think its fair to have her a tier above
I hate trainer golems. Someone had 6 CONQUERER ON 2-1 cause they got sub service, hit ambessa and went to lvl 5. Bro had a rumble on 2-5 from the conquer stacks 😂
Haven't even watched but 100 percent lower-tier players do not value early game enough. My mantra generally is (I was top 2000 at some point, so I have some master/challenger/GM experience) -- every start is a good start. There are enough productive, effective comps/line in every single matchup for you to go top 4. You might not achieve that giga-chad 1st every time, but there's usually a way to make a strong board with a huge segment of augments and choices. It's really just about tempo/ensuring that you understand in each moment where you're weak and where you can feasibly get stronger. The real skill is admitting when things are going wrong. Usually, econ can fix many issues. You can't be delusional about winstreaking. If the whole lobby is overly strong early you have to figure out a different advantage. Also be willing to scrap your entire board and quickly re-compose on the fly if needed.
I disagree with sho’jin into scrap. You need so much items (2 items corki, 2 items Ekko + spark + a bunch of components) for that comp that I don’t think you can have a dead sho’jin on your GP, unless you’re not itemizing corki, which is worse obviously. Also, if you’re slamming items, you’re playing for winstreak most likely. Scrap being extremely contested, there will probably be a guy with more econ than you because he plays from lose streak that will take your units. Great video though, thanks )
Yeah for sure, i'm never thinking "oh Shojin! I can play into scrap"; it's more 'I have Shojin GP opener I don't only have to play into AP, I can continue this Scrap line still with enough tempo". Hard to say all that in what's meant to be a simple flow chart. I can agree that at that point maybe it should just be taken off as not to confuse newer players.
Bruh I'm hardstuck diamond: I climb to d1 and demote to d3 and do it all over on repeat. I'll keep in mind what you said and if I get to masters it will be thanks to this guide B). PLUS: I actually got to diamond thanks to your TEMPO guide. Before I didn't have a basic understanding of it and was kinda struggling in plat (this very season).
I just had a enforcer game with emblem on 2.1 maddie 2 trundle and Steb 2 and didnt get a single vi on rolldown on 4.2 so in went 6th with 70 hp on 4.2
Hello, I have a question for you. What is the way to fix low mmr? I get 35-40 lp for 1st place, -60, -70 lp for 8th place. I'm stuck on master 0 lp. At the beginning, I had earned about 200 lp, but after 3-4 matches, I dropped to 0, and then I am having a hard time gaining lp since 2 top4 earns the same amount of lp as 1 bot4. is there any way to fix this?
@SleeplessWrestling how many? When I first reached around 200 lp, I made 6 winstreaks. Even that was difficult, now I can do 3-4 winstreaks sometimes, but it doesn't have any effect, will it be okay if I do 15-20 winstreaks or something?
I don’t think it’s something you should worry about (personally speaking). I think if you try to learn and improve everyday, you will get better every game, lose less LP, and eventually rank up.
Following to see the answer, but I would imagine it’s either because you don’t have the time to benefit from it that would make it stronger than other choices, or, because that late in the game you don’t need to be giving up strength to sit back
Econ Augment 2-1 should have exponential value Econ Augment 4-2 should be a resupply after a 4-1 rolldown/powerspike OR a winmore econ if 100hp Econ Augment 3-2 does not have enough potential value compared to 2-1 bc it is harder to streak 3-2 for streak gold + econ value. Also hinders your 4-2 aug to only be combat, bc you don't want to take 3 econ augs or combat econ econ when everyone else is spiking with 3rd aug. Ideally you are going:: 2-1 econ/emblem/items 3-2 combat/emblem/items 4-2 combat/emblem
I thought I explained my reasoning in the video? I dont think it gives me enough econ to be worth it. No front line or front line items to slam. I don't think my plays are 100% correct and I'm always open to different analysis but if you're asking for my thoughts I literally give them right in the video.
@@WaterParkTactics I was referring to what you said at around the 6:00, not your first augment pick that you discussed at the end of your video. I probably would have chosen the dummy augment though, as to not get locked into ap (not even a 2* ap yet)

The 1 cost 2 cost holds are really helpful, if you made those every set I think you could get a lot of views
It depends on each patch

in the last part, you had no upgrades but chose an item augment instead of econ augment, probably not right?
Spark or utility items are a bit different. I take it for the spark; the fact that it helps me kill an extra unit or two is a bonus.
