Ruth was so nice and friendly ! Made the trip out to Hooker's from Irving. I ordered the single grilled onions, cheese, and fries. Burger and fries were so good, I will definitely be back ! Chi Pisa La Chike Ruth ! Joe from Irving
You people have the best job on earth. Texas is a huge state. Plus, Texas has the best food if you ask me. I have worked in every part of Texas over the years. Even in some of the most remote places in Western TX, you can always find some really great food. Now, I want to go to Hookers so bad.
I am some 20 thousands miles away from Fort Worth, TX. Being in Milan, Italy. The only place where we have burgers is Mac Donald's. We don't consider hamburgers something you can have at a restaurant, because they can be made at home with no efforts. It all depends on what you expect a chef to cook for you of course. But I love hamburgers and fries, and I would easily get along with tex mex food for the rest of my life.
Born and raised a couple of miles from there. Now i live in Los Angeles Ca. Next time I'm back to my hometown I'll have to stop by there....Love a good burger...
BTW, is CrystalCity hanging in there?..... I used to stop there back when I was a trucker years ago..... great people.....had a great restaurant on outskirts of town .... a person got all of the local news there....lol..... good food too for sure
Remember fishing on the Okie side of the Red River when I was a kid.Saw my first Texans throwing something our way across the river. My dad laughed and gave me his Zippo lighter and told me they are firecrackers. Light them and throw them back. Now I find out we even had to show them how onion burgers were made and just about everything else....
@@christhompson9486 Been and they are real. Hambuger Inn Ardmore Ok. Use to be a quarter when I went to JR.high just down the block for lunch. Not a quarter anymore but best onion burgers in that part of the world..
I wish this was in existence when I lived there. Now I live close to Terrell that I could make a trip back home and have me a Onion Burger & Fried Bologna- look too damn good to pass up! I hope I get there before things start getting crazy..
Man my friend took me when I moved to Arlington and my heart melted the people are so friendly once COVID settled down im going there again and I’m bringing some bucks
I make & the family eats Oklahoma onion burgers with heavy amounts of yellow sliced onions & dill pickle slices, normally no cheese , but add it if you want, make em' here in Ky. ever since we saw them made at Sid's on the travel Channel with Adam richmann

Pro Tip: "Not frozen" meat is kept about 1 degree above freezing, it's significantly more risky to the consumer if something does happen the meat goes bad very quickly (so you much check it's temp often) and since it's not frozen it literally sits in a bag of blood until you stick your hand into the liquid trying to feel for it it out of the cooler. Ask me how I know =/
? pretty sure not frozen just means they get it from the grocery store or butcher and cook it within 3 days and it's kept in the fridge relax lol. It is obviously frozen at the butcher or grocery store before they buy it but dethawed for display. Frozen patties r like those patties that come premade and shaped etc.
It's NOT '' Hamburger Steak '' !! It's '' Hamburg Steak ! '' The Hamburg Steak originated in Hamburg, Germany ! It's a Thick Ground Beef Steak patty cooked and topped with a brown onion mushroom gravy. The Original Burger & Cheeseburger originated at a Truck Stop Cafe in Athens, Tx in 1898 by a man named Uncle Dave Fletcher who introduced it at the State Fair in Dallas, Tx in 1904 ! Two different food items ! And if the Bacon came from a Pig born, raised, butchered and processed in Canada, then one can call it Canadian Bacon !! LOL

Howdy from Glasgow 🏴 I love Texas
If you love Texas you don't really know it. Plus everything looks good compared to haggis.
Howdy to you!
@@genghiskhan7041 apparently neither do you. Texas is a wonderful place with warm and welcoming folks.
@@genghiskhan7041 You should just change your name to Gayass Khan. It would be more fitting.

Sometimes I think the same thing but then I realize I'm just hungry and want to make burgers
Not in Biden’s America 😔
I love her sense of humor 😆
I grew up on Oklahoma onion burgers in ElReno, OK. Robert Grill, Johnnies Grill, Side Diner and JBs in Chickasha, OK. Delicious!

This food is incredible! 💗💗💗 There’s a new one now, in Hudson Oaks. She has HOMEMADE PIES AND CAKES along with all the other amazing food...
Came for the burger, learned they were native as well 👍👍👍
Native? Native what? Everybody on Earth is native to somewhere on this planet.
What has happened to all the memoirs from the museum in Barstow? My brother and I had a chance to walk through it years ago.
Hookers and grill are my two favourite things.

anybody watching this, if you ever have a chance to get an indian taco do it. messy but filling.
It might be an Oklahoma fried onion burger, but it has the Texas wisdom only a Hooker can impart. Plus, on here they look bigger than in Oklahoma.
Well said EZ...

Thank you for the great story. Couple that with an onion burger, what else does a body need?
Is this place near the old litas place
I live in Oklahoma and what Ruth is making is a genuine onion burger. Mustard, fried onions and pickles are the only way to go when eating a burger.
Ymmm. How did I not know of this place by the stock yard. Now I have to find it and enjoy her food.
