As a kid, I would always want to save my marine buddies. So when I got to this mission I'd always drop a deployable cover to shield him from the flood.
Like this so Generalkidd can see it, when you start the mission 343 Guilty Spark at the start of the map is the lone marine easter egg, whats very interesting about this particular marine is, on Halo CE PC, if you bump possess him, you can play as him throughout the entire level, he is one very few npcs in Halo CE that go through loading points without freezing(all other npcs in Halo CE PC that I know of need to use vehicles to get past loading points), you should definitely do this for a future video, show people how to do it, it's a really awesome challenge because the marine has no shields, no motion sensor, he has health but his health bar doesn't display, so you have to guess when you need a health pack, so my theory behind why that marine is there in the first place is because I wonder if Bungie had plans to make the pvt. Jenkins vid cutscene playable, where you fight alongside Johnson and Keyes, fighting the covenant throughout the flood containment facility, where then you would finally die and become infected by the flood, than you would play as Master Chief. :)
+UltimateDominion That is certainly very interesting. I actually have a vid of that marine coming up soon, but I might hold off and integrate this into that video.
Excellent video on this marine GeneralKidd! for anyone interested the video explaining the secret marine is up, I also put a comment down below in that video putting in a few of my thoughts and explaining the theory more in depth, and why Mendoza during the development stages of Halo CE may have been playable(it turns out making the Halo CE pvt. Jenkins cutscene was very difficult to make because it's all real-time, they would been better of making that cutscene playable, plus, it would have been alot more fun, and even introduced Halo games like that to the franchise), thank you everyone for all the support, be sure to give GeneralKidd's new video of that secret marine a like! :D
I would usually drop him a deployable cover to make him (and myself) feel better. I don't know, I just hate it. When I go on a mission with 2-10 marines, I try my best to not have one of them die... But when I play with my cousin, he kills all of them....
Fun fact you can actually save as many as 10 Marines total throughout the whole level plus the 5 elites later on, so 15 individual allies is pretty crazy. Only hard part is keeping them alive due to too many guys commiting friendly fire.
I'm pretty sure it's 9 Marines, unless the Flamethrower Marine or the Crazed Marine can be recruited. In the first fight, there are 6 live Marines, 2 of which get infected no matter what. So there's 4 Marines. Then, there's the Marine who gets jumped by Infection Forms, increasing the total to 5. Immediately after him, there are 4 more Marines fighting the Flood, for a total of 9. If the Flamethrower Marine or Crazed Marine can follow the player, then it would be 10. Correct me if I'm missing someone.
Nin10do0014 it's 10. I got 9 solo. 10 in co-op but if you do that you won't get all 5 elites. There's 5 in the beginning that you can save. 1 which will transform no matter what, another one that can cancel the animation.
Ok so I could never get the crazy marine to follow me, but I did manage to "snap" him out of his rant. It was difficult. What I did was shoot him with a shotgun at a range that wouldn't kill him. He stood up and just stared at me for about 30 minutes but he never crouched down or talked and I just left.
3 years late but, He has some serious Post Traumatic Stress, that’s not craziness. He just experienced his fellow marines get gruesomely infected by the flood, and he had to kill them all. I’d be suicidal too if that happened to me
in mcc halo reach if you walk up to a marine he will say something like following you sir and his name will pop up next to your mini map that's just a cool detail I noticed play recently
Here's a tip at the part where you leave the marines, walk up to the flame thrower. You can now push them up to the stairs one by one and they will follow you all the way to the end. DONT BREAK THE GLASS AFTER YOU FALL DOWN THE HOLE.
One thing i always found fun to do in Halo 2 on Cairo Station was to push Johnson through the mission with you and then when you meet up with him and Miranda Keyes later on there's 2 Johnsons! Always fun to do, i guess you can push them both into the rest of the level maybe? Also this works in Halo 3 on Rat's Nest if i remember correctly.
I remembre that when i was a kid i saved this marine, I dont know how i just remember that i did something and he got up and followed me(Punched him or something), But the flood killed him
You CAN save him man... You can bypass that cutscene by DC launching past the cutscene trigger. You could technically couch launch the marine past the trigger and then you can backtrack and push him again once he is outside the cutscene trigger volume.
Idk if my game glitched when I was playing co-op with my sister , but what happened was I crouched right by him to hear the dialogue and the Marine stood up and just followed me , he had the same a i as a standard marine , so I don't know .
what if you shot him once with a carbine to make him stand up then throw a grenade near him because most marines jump out of the way of grenades right? So then he would (probably) jump out of the way and thats how you could get him to move right?
Maybe you can get out of the map like in the other video with the level before this one. and go around the cutcean then come back for the marine. You might have to play with it a bit because some loading chunk may be the only way for him to spawn.
This is a joke I heard on a radio station, so if you haven't already, feel free to use it A fungi walks into a bar, the barman says "sorry, we don't serve your kind here" and the the mushroom says " why not? I'm a 'fungi' " If you don't get it, say it out loud
Here I am thinking "Yep I love his voice when it echoes. Maybe I'll sub if he doesn't change it." but it was just because I had concert hall on for my music player and the recent update on my phone made it apply to everything :(
My brother did it with the regeneration thing by hitting him with it he just stood up and acted normal and ever since then everytime I play through that mission I try
it's the same with halo reach. if you are on the mission new Alexandra, on the drone section, if you have a jet pack you can go to the top and find a guy who is probably a rookie and is terrified or the drones. please put this in a videio
i remember one time i met this marine, i shot him a bit, and got up and followed me for the rest of the mision. same thing happened when i shot the marine on crows nest knocking on the door. everytime i play i can never do it again
As a kid, I would always want to save my marine buddies. So when I got to this mission I'd always drop a deployable cover to shield him from the flood.
kilAcez21 i saved as many as i could even the elites
kilAcez21 something in common! I drop a regeneration device. lol
PainfulHail13 4 i only use those when i speed run the level.
kilAcez21
i too, and I allways gived then Power Weapons
kilAcez21 same I try to save the UNSC units
he's not crazy he's scared he literally just met real life zombies a lot of people would consider suicide
Cracno112 He also killed his own friends who were infected. I'd be pretty traumatized after
Declan Jeffrey yeah... too bad we can't save him and get him to proper treatment and possibly bring him back healthy to his family
Yeah that's what I would do if that happened
Delta Juliet they weren’t infected tho
Ghost8456 what do u mean

UltimateDominion
UltimateDominion Good idea
I would love to see this in action. Could I get evidence please? I really wanna see!
I would usually drop him a deployable cover to make him (and myself) feel better. I don't know, I just hate it. When I go on a mission with 2-10 marines, I try my best to not have one of them die... But when I play with my cousin, he kills all of them....
My brother does the same thing and it always ends up with us in a shoot out because he won't stop killing the marines.
Innocent children are often the most cruel ones, since they just do not understand what empathy towards others is..
This is ten years of curiosity solved
Jamie Mills in 10 minutes!
Can you save the marine that's infected and transformed into a flood right before your eyes early on in this mission?
yeah this is possible but pretty difficult
Mr_Bax it is really easy tbh
T Dawg battle rifle works wonders.
Hunter Bond the first group is the only one that happens to as far as i can tell.
Hunter Bond i have watched them marines in theater mode. some might randomly die. but none turn after the first flood combat encounter.
I could see them crawling. Sliding around beneath their skin! Then they got up, started to talk. Oh God! Their voices! Oh God...make it stop!
"Son, that's a Marine... not a pet. No, we can't keep him; he has a family of his own"
"Can you save the marine?"
*10 minute video*
Nope.
"The answer is: sort of."
No Man's Sky presentation flashbacks.
What about the Marine who gets infected near the start of Floodgate? Can he be saved?
DrearyPlane8 yes
Schrödinger no he just gets infected randomly and cant be saved
DrearyPlane8 the ones in the yard cant be saved. but the one in the room definitely can.
Noble Actual By shooting the infection form off him?
DrearyPlane8 no you have to kill them before one jumps on him.

i did applaud when you said the pun... it was so "Good"
Jeeesus. People still posting videos about the original Halo games. This is a most pleasant surprise to me.
And 6 years after you made this comment, I'm still here for it. ✨️
Ok so I could never get the crazy marine to follow me, but I did manage to "snap" him out of his rant. It was difficult. What I did was shoot him with a shotgun at a range that wouldn't kill him. so punderful
50% of the reason i watch these videos are for the puns...
same
What’s puns
same
@@landonbaker3202 LMAOOOO
I am disappointed yet simultaneously impressed that you can dish out all these puns every video
There is a crazy Marine in almost every halo
The Socialist One in Reach halo 1,2 and 3. I think one on 4 and I am not sure about ODST.
I am a crazy marine
lol I love your videos man I love the corny puns and stuff like that, people wonder why you have so many subscribers, your doing something right 👍🏽
I did once shot him once with the plasma rifle and then he said yes master chief I only did that once though
Great videos, even greater puns. I feel like you and I would have been good friends IRL had we known each other. Keep up the great work!
I think it's amazing that people are still making halo 3 videos 10 years later, what a great game.
"he stood up instead of just standing there"
"were gonna save this crazy marine" *Kills everyone else* "that didn't work*
once i just waited for a long time and he got up and his dialogue turned to that of a normal marine, but he still wouldnt leave the room
I found this out when you didn’t upload this I stared at him and he just gets up and helps the elites
You know you take all the marines with you? You just push me to the stairs and they follow u for the rest of the level
Push him off the ledge and see what he does
You could have stood him up first by going to that cutscene place and then killed the marines so he would turn against you.
I guess you were flooded in this video! Happy to see you made alot of friends!
3 years late but,
He has some serious Post Traumatic Stress, that’s not craziness.
He just experienced his fellow marines get gruesomely infected by the flood, and he had to kill them all.
I’d be suicidal too if that happened to me
I remember when I was little I just waited for a really long time and eventually he just stood up by himself.
in mcc halo reach if you walk up to a marine he will say something like following you sir and his name will pop up next to your mini map that's just a cool detail I noticed play recently
I used to watch these kinds of videos ALL THE TIME. I miss those days. Good games.
your jokes are amazing
Here's a tip at the part where you leave the marines, walk up to the flame thrower. You can now push them up to the stairs one by one and they will follow you all the way to the end. DONT BREAK THE GLASS AFTER YOU FALL DOWN THE HOLE.
In every halo there's that one marine who can't take it and rambles about killing them self
Now, time for some puns !
_skips 30 seconds ahead_
Ciudecc a
HOW DARE YOU! The Puns are The Best!
DOOOOOOOOOOOO YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU SPEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAK ENGLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISH
I did the same ;)
He probably deloaded because he was one of the assets coded to deload when you reached that point. I'm trying to sound smart :)
if you through a grenade not at him but close enough to harm him a little the marine actually stands up and stops talking
One thing i always found fun to do in Halo 2 on Cairo Station was to push Johnson through the mission with you and then when you meet up with him and Miranda Keyes later on there's 2 Johnsons! i hope hes grown out of telling us puns with warning.
"He stood up instead of standing there."
Biggest confusion yet.
2:49
Loving your content!
Never thought of saving him personally
Came for Halo, stayed for the cool puns.
You CAN save him man... You can bypass that cutscene by DC launching past the cutscene trigger. You could technically couch launch the marine past the trigger and then you can backtrack and push him again once he is outside the cutscene trigger volume.
In halo ce there’s a crazy marine that shoots you when you first find out about the flood
your puns are so good that my sister dies when she hears them and is there a glitch where you can drive a frigate
5:26 you ALMOST sent him out w/ a bang
Best puns ever. Was applauding all the way.
The first time I saw him I ended his suffering, then the second I just popped a deployable shield
Drbeard I didn’t go out of my way to help him because it’s a game and he is programmed to do that.
Fun fact: If you push the marines up to the first staircase they will follow you through the level.
I wonder if it is possible to deactivate none of those 3 things you turn off on The Covenant and still beat the mission.
Idk if my game glitched when I was playing co-op with my sister , but what happened was I crouched right by him to hear the dialogue and the Marine stood up and just followed me , he had the same a i as a standard marine , so I don't know .
now you need to save to marine in halo reach that goes crazy after seeing the drones
Ahhh The memories, I played this mission more than 200 times like 5 years ago, Never had Anything to play with (I had no internet)
what if you shot him once with a carbine to make him stand up then throw a grenade near him because most marines jump out of the way of grenades right? So then he would (probably) jump out of the way and thats how you could get him to move right?
Maybe you can get out of the map like in the other video with the level before this one. and go around the cutcean then come back for the marine. You might have to play with it a bit because some loading chunk may be the only way for him to spawn.
I found a flame thrower in that part
he isn't crazy he is traumatized
That last pun just killed me xd
Am I the only person whose still been thinking about this for almost 7 years
This is what happens when you send Pyle into space.
I didn't get the ham samwhich joke for like a minute....
My question, is it possible to save the suicidal marine on the Halo Reach mission New Alexandria where the drones attack?
what was with that ridiculous screaming at the end XD
Me and my friends were playing Halo 3 and my friend decided to roast the marine alive with the flamethrower. Then he killed our third teammate.
4:24 this is the best part of the video imo.
Last pun made me hungry
This is a joke I heard on a radio station, so if you haven't already, feel free to use it
A fungi walks into a bar, the barman says "sorry, we don't serve your kind here" and the the mushroom says " why not? I'm a 'fungi' "
If you don't get it, say it out loud
I love the seagals joke
You can bring those marines with....you just need to push them to the stairs
I always try to save the marines I feel so bad when they die I go to the last checkpoint if I did not save them
Marge bouvier Simpson that’s kind of retarded and a big waste of time.
I thought he he said hamster instead of hipster
Here I am thinking "Yep I love his voice when it echoes. Maybe I'll sub if he doesn't change it." but it was just because I had concert hall on for my music player and the recent update on my phone made it apply to everything :(
Is it bad that I laughed at those puns?
I genuinely like the puns.
In halo ce in the mission 343 guilty spark I would kill the crazy guy
My brother did it with the regeneration thing by hitting him with it he just stood up and acted normal and ever since then everytime I play through that mission I try
it's the same with halo reach. if you are on the mission new Alexandra, on the drone section, if you have a jet pack you can go to the top and find a guy who is probably a rookie and is terrified or the drones.
please put this in a videio
They actually do when you are on the mining planet. I've tried. Also, never give a miner a rocket launcher before you shoot them.
One time I placed down a regeneration ability but when the flood entered the field they died....
Does anybody else want to hear that Marine's story? Like what sort of favor could he have done for the flood?
You're videos are a culture.
Hey, I don't "kill him for fun", I put him out of his misery, alright?
If I ran out of ammo I would just steal another marines gun, which normally meant they died pretty quickly.
CAN YOU DO MORE VIDEO PLEES
Generalkidd did you know you can bring the marines along with you through the rest of the mission if you push them up the stairs?
I like the Marines haircut
2:21 the roast :D
You can pass the cutscene by breaking your xbox in half. Worked for me.
i only hit thumbs up till i hear all the amazing puns.
We have Bandana Skull added to save almost all the marines from the flood.
Can you make some out of the map video tutorials? Maybe how to get out of Sierra, first mission in halo 3?
I like how when you are in the mist of battle you are saying puns. Also I did actually clap 4 you.
i remember one time i met this marine, i shot him a bit, and got up and followed me for the rest of the mision.
same thing happened when i shot the marine on crows nest knocking on the door. everytime i play i can never do it again
Wow that's life I guess one can . only imagine huh!
You should use the saving Jhonson glitch and see what happens.
