- Speedy Morman takes viewers on an in-depth look at some of the most aspirational and unexpectedly cool professions that you probably won’t stumble upon in a job search. On this episode of Jobs Unlisted, find out if Speedy can make it as music producer with Tay Keith.
Tay Keith had a meteoric rise in 2018, producing hits for the likes of Travis Scott, Drake, Eminem, and BlocBoy JB. And he’s only getting started. In the latest episode of Jobs Unlisted, Speedy Morman links up with the producer at his alma mater Middle Tennessee State University to find out how the 22-year-old first got into music, his influences, and what challenges he faced. They then visit the Sound Stage studio in Nashville, where Tay Keith shows Speedy what it takes to make a banger. Speedy also visits the Stax Museum in Memphis to get a rich history lesson on the iconic Stax Records label that featured Otis Redding, Isaac Hayes, and other legendary soul acts.

Complex oof
We need Metro, hes not the biggest in the Industry, hes above it :D
anybody who started making beats yesterday and now think they can make beats full time 🤬 how bout you try making a hit on your own with out a Grammy winning producer holding your nut sack?
Complex credit for the beat at 6:20?
Song 3:28-3:32? Pleeeease
Step 1. Hi hats
Step 2. 808 drums
Step 3. Claps and snares
Step 4. Send to Drake
Well u think it's so easy. Try it and we'll if he uses your beat.
Lol anything sounds simple if you generalize it
What was your point
@@NetWorthNinjas anyone can you just have to get popin lmao
relax ,take it as a joke why so mad
U forgot piano
Bless Tay Keith for keeping a straight face haha.
Not a bad beat for the first try, good work!
I know you
This is fire for a FIRST beat. My first didn't even sound like a beat
nah this is great for the first beat ever. if you go down my channel you can see how shit mine are lmao
Best first beat i ever heard
hello I need help on making beats I have a midi keyboard and garage band also check my youtube music out plz promote my music thanks and also sub
This man starts his beats with hi hats tf
That's what I was thinking
lmfao ikr
Actually a lot of producers do. It gives that bounce real quick. I'll do it sometimes if i want to make something banging.
u heard of zaytoven right?
@@turkeyjerkey111 lol, wtf is wrong with starting with the Hi-hats, even Zaytoven starts with the Hihats
This man watched him put the snare on the 1 and didn’t say a thing smh
Bruh hahahahahahah i thought the same thing
He has to learn that's why! If you are self taught you also made that mistake. He's actually letting him get the feel of it instead of holding his hand the whole time.
Trunks Briefs that’s not necessarily bad
Trunks Briefs it really depends on the music, different rhythms exists. So get out of ur 2019 trash music head
Trunks Briefs bro this is mainly applicable to house/dance/etc type music, hip hop is mainly the snare on beat 3, however every pattern is possible in all genres.
DAM Speedy... *SLOW DOWN!* - off his record breaking hit _"Speedy Gonzales"_
808 likes!!!!
hello plz check muy music out and also sub to it I am a 20 year old college student I am also visually impaired thanks
Bruh how u be on every single youtube video ever
tay keith let that man click in every single hat 1 by 1 and did not show him the ''fill each two steps'' feature lmao 7:47
😅
baby steps make for longevity
🤣
That’s how I learn , I got like 100 cringe beats on my page but maybe one day one will get views
That's the easy way to do it he said lmao
Tay Keith looks like a very humble and lovely guy. The industry ain't changed him. Props for that
Yeah but She looks like a GUY. 😂
At 6:50 you can see the pain in Tay’s eyes lmao
El Uno chill explain 😂
Awful freestyle
No chill my guy lmao
I thought the same thing
he's like this shit trash
“Speedy slow down if it’s getting Complex” 😂
snavarro688 💀💀💀💀💀💀
BAHAHAHAHA
snavarro688 that’s a bar lmao
@5:32 Tay Keith: “Do you know who I am” *has a necklace with his name on it*
lol ikr
I was deadass just thinking that lol
all because i know your Name is Kyle Quiriconi doesn’t mean that i actually Know who you are
The song is A thousand Grams by Push n' Glide
Speedy makes the complex beats that play in the background lol
💀💀💀right
RIP To all the Audio Engineers watching this video smh.
😂😂😂😂
Why?
Lee W because the vocals was so dry not mixed at all
Lee W cause seeing an amateur kinda cringes us especially when we know all the shortcuts and stuff lol
Lol this is not at all what I’m talking about, but those are all true. I’m just looking at all that money’s worth of studio equipment and so sad that he doesn’t know how to use it. Or the fact they didn’t emphasize how important those tools are important in the transition from production to the mixing you hear when you listen.
I take back my statement about Tay, I actually like he stays in his element, it allows him to do his thing and focus on the production that driving this success thus far. Dope cat. Really hope I can work with him one day.
Step 1: Copy and paste drum patterns from previous beats
Step 2: Change the melody
Step 3: Send it to any rapper and you’re done
Yungdagger lmfaoooo
SHEESH! Lol I mean that definitely works, but people switch up the drums by their sounds or with different 808s usually. I hate using the same drum patterns though, so I always try to switch it up every beat
That's a signature thing I mean you probably talking about Tay Keiths drums always same hat hat hat hat snare etc.
Beat was fire and tay was an absolute nice guy
Urban Media he a chill dude
ASAP Pain till he fucks a nigga up
the beat was completely trash no cap
That tag is MONEY. Speedy might have found a new lane for real.

There is a difference between a beat maker and a producer. It's not that easy folks.
It's Wiz facts 💯
No difference between a beat maker and a producer. They both PRODUCE music. 🤷♂️
Payton Paciotti this comment deserves so much likes 😂😂
@GoodWorkWill is actually right. A Producer produces the beat. It's still "producing". Then you can have a producer who produces a song. There is no difference between a beat maker and a producer. idgaf what Khaled is talking abt. @@paytonpaciotti8243
Only old ass niggas say this
“Speedy slow down, it’s getting Complex” fire ass lyric
That tag HARD tho. What????
Navjot Sandhu you dumbass that was compliment

You must not have gotten the entire point of the video. It's that "mans" channel an he is giving his viewers a chance to see what it's like to be a Producer. He invited the successful Tay Keith to SHOW HIM HOW. Maybe YOU picked the wrong video bro.
This might be my fav episode from this series. Love how he payed homage to funk and soul music and highlighting the connection between today
An original video thats also pretty informative. Good job Complex. And Tay Keith wasn't cappin that beat is hard
This was a well put together episode. Salute to complex for always delivering quality and education for the culture.

i really appreciate how they took time to look at the history of memphis music beyond hip hop
It's really nice to see a famous person in the music industry in school and still learning there is not limit to knowledge!
S/O to Tay Keith for finishing his degree!
before anyone says it yes we know its not that complex to make a trap beat its still fire we still like it and it still makes my head bop
Tay Keith a Top producer but still in college grinding, respect it.
It’s cool that he is still getting his degree. He isn’t just dropping out like some people would. He is big motivation and influencer at his college campus and probably at others too.
They changed the drum pattern when the rapper came in lmaooo
“Do you know who I am?”
*literally has his name in diamonds on his chest*
“Isn’t it like King or something?” 😂
really needed this video, i was struggling on how to make beats with tay keith
this is simply greatness. Love it
i love that he went to learn about the history of memphis music just to go and learn how to put a sine under drums an sometimes a nexus piano
You can hate on the his simple repetitive style but thats what the artists wants. He aint making beats for producers.
I tend to forget that sometimes thx. But having to make basic beats on purpose is boring me tho
Aye Complex continue this series! It's fire
This is what i want to do in life is make beats but i really dont have anyone to guide me so i just watch vids like this to help🔥shout out tay keith💯
u still making beats?
that " i'm impressed" was everything 🚀
