Trying out the SIMMS Headwater Boa wading boots (GEAR REVIEW)

In which Jon and Steve of Good Buddy Fly Fishing try out some new wading boots in another episode of Good Buddy Gear Gab. Jon bought the Simms Headwater Boa wading boots and is planning to put them to the test. The hope for all new gear is that it will help you catch more trout and sometimes it's just about the mojo.

Hey Guys, you will love these boots. I've had the simms rivertek boots with BOA for 4 or 5 seasons now, basically the same boot. For the first time this year I had to bring them to a shoe repair place to glue the soles back on and email BOA and get some replacement laces that are free with the lifetime warranty. I'm very hard on my gear as I'm over 6' and 260lbs. Also, I fish well over 100 days a year.

Waterproof itself to avoid saturation I would imagine. When I first got started I had all my money in nice rods/reels/lines. Wearing waders about as useful as leaky trash bags and old leather boots with the insoles removed. Anymore I'd rather catch a fish with my bare hands in a nice set of waders/boots. Keep up the great work guys. Love the content.

Yeah. They have been really great so far. The best part is how easily they go on and come off. I always felt like I was damaging something on my waders when I had to struggle to take the old boots off. Thanks for coming along with us.

Salesman: They also have aircraft grade stainless steel wires and EVA.

Since this video was published a year and a half ago, how have the BOA systems held up? Any major problems with the cables breaking? Any real world feedback is appreciated. Cheers!

Honestly, I am really happy with them. No problems and I’ve used them a ton. I think my favorite thing is the liner in the Simms boot. So easy to put on and take off. Thanks for watching.
