I've never seen black stuff come from a mass like that! I was expecting a normal pus color. Does the color of the hair from the follicle make it black?
The debris inside are from trapped skin. The patch that came from was black pigmented skin, so the mushy skin flakes inside are black too
I first noticed it and got it diagnosed on my guinea pig when he was three years old, I did not choose surgery because I was terrified of him undergoing anesthesia. He is now six years old and the mass is too large to be excised but also likely more bothersome now. I still don't like the idea of surgery because of anesthesia but...I'm considering opting to get the contents out even though I know it'll grow back
Is anesthesia deadly for guinea pigs?
@@gambigambigambi no but small exotic animals can have more complications because they can decompensate (decreased temp, heart rate, resp rate etc) quickly.
Btw, he had surgery and the whole tumor was excised!
