Agree. One couple faced with a sudden flood were trying to get their daughters and themselves to safety were hit by a wall of water from behind. It pushed the wife under the water and their two year old daughter off her shoulders. They couldn't get to her. The father tried but he'd have died. They had to listen as their wee girl was screaming, carried away by the flood waters and the the noise of the water took over. She was found dead not far past their home.

Here in New Zealand we haven't seen a destructive weather event like this in decades. Our infrustructure certainly isn't designed for cyclones, because we usually don't get them. I also want to say thank you to Lady C and everyone for your prayers. Thankfully, Kiwis are incredibly resilient and will do anything to help each other. Our nation is pulling together in this crisis. We're a team of five million - always have been and always will be. But please keep praying - there are a lot of families grieving over the loss of loved ones, their livelihood and their homes. One of our youngest losses was a little girl of two years, who got swept away in the floods. It's heartbreaking. Much love from New Zealand.
Can you imagine silt that is just below your roofline. That is how many people found themselves. One woman got into her attic to escape & still didn't escape the water & sludge. I was holidaying on the Coromandel two weeks before this occurred. There was flooding the week we were there & there werr mud slides. After we left there was more rain that left destruction & loss of lives, but this cyclone down the east of the northern Island is horrendous. Lives lost; houses buried in silt & many destroyed. Families homeless & having to start from scratch. Many farmers could be ruined financially by this. Kiwis are a hardy bunch but there is just so much one can take. Prayers to all affected.
All of New Zealand is in my prayers. I have seen terrible destruction from a tornado in Oklahoma that leveled homes, businesses, and damaged a hospital. I cannot begin to imagine what you all are going through. May God Bless You all, and keep you safe.
A New Zealander here - thank you all for your good wishes. I have a daughter (with a family) and a son (with a family) who thankfully haven’t lost anyone. They are without power, food going off, and seem to be desperate to come here to their family. If roads are open and they can get petrol they will. We are heartbroken for the families who have lost loved ones and their homes and belongings. The news reports are horrendous to watch. 😢

Yes ♥️ from South Island NZ🇳🇿 for Turkey and Syria. Their struggles have only just begun. Took years for Christchurch to recover and some people I've never seen again and some have passed away. Just hope they have less red tape and get their rebuilds done far quicker to ease the pain.
From the US, we are also praying for the people of NZ. Personally, when I served in Afghanistan as an Army Nurse, I worked, side by side, with a New Zealand Military Nurse. She was top notch in her knowledge & ability and a joy to work with. She & the NZ Military came to mind immediately on my hearing about the hurricane. My prayers go out to all who are affected. And I think the senior Royals will take the long view. They know at some point in the future Harry will need his family. I've got a feeling divorcing H is already at the back of her mind. Her focus is her brand, to fulfill her ambitions, to become a celebrity and in order to do this, she relied heavily on H's status and her connections to the Royal family. It's now been backfiring, especially after the NF fiction series and even more after H's book. H's become an object of ridicule. She's conscious he is painted as someone who's very immature and not very bright, not only in the UK, but in the US more and more now where celebrities are openly mocking him and criticizing him and it's reflecting on her big time for being married to someone who has no star appeal like she hoped. Add to this that she must be panicking, running scared about her security after H's comments on his army "exploits" that went down like a lead balloon and put himself and his family at high risk. It's not doing her any favours to be associated with him anymore and H's become a stumbling block to the future she's been hoping to build. In my opinion, it won't be too long until she parts ways with him in order to "save" herself even though, to be honest, she will never be a celebrity in the way she hopes as she's burned her bridges and her popularity has been plummeting more and more in her own country to the point A-listers are keeping her and H at a distance now. More and more people are now seeing both her and his constant lies and hypocrisy and they're being called out. She's got nothing of value to offer either, more like full of hot air.

My brother in law and sister in law are there on vacation. My sister-in-law has relatives there so I’m praying for them. They had been waiting to go there for the past 2 years as they scheduled originally before COVID so they had to wait for the country to reopen. Praying they are ok. Even if they let us know it is going to rain for three days and four nights, I’m leaving town 😀) We prepared for the hurricane water, food, gasoline, important papers, etc. We all take sooo many amenities for granted and realize how fortunate we are to have water,food,gasoline,electric, and communication when we no longer have any of them. When the cat5 was over after two terrifying days of heavy rain going sideways and howling winds we were without electric, water, or communication. (We gave our cell phones a full charge before the hurricane and did not touch them) All the cell towers were blown away. Portable cell towers were put up as soon as possible, but they were inadequate. After about eight days later, our son finally broke through with very sporadic limited time to talk. We can talk later with the details. (Without electric to charge our cell phones, we had to preserve what little charge we had left in the cell and we still could not call out. Impossible.) Needless to say, our son was beside himself just to know we were ok. He was seeing on the TV daily what has happened that we could not, nor did we have even the slightest information what was going on around us that contributed to his concern. So, no matter what, keep calling your loved ones all day, all day and don’t give up. Remember, just the logistics alone to try to bring a community back as quickly as possible and the welfare of everyone is a monumental task. I’m sure your brother-in -law and sister-in-law want you to know everyone is ok, but perhaps logistically they can’t right now. Keep trying and I will pray all is well with you and your family. ❤

Agree. One couple faced with a sudden flood were trying to get their daughters and themselves to safety were hit by a wall of water from behind. It pushed the wife under the water and their two year old daughter off her shoulders. They couldn't get to her. The father tried but he'd have died. They had to listen as their wee girl was screaming, carried away by the flood waters and the the noise of the water took over. She was found dead not far past their home.

Here in New Zealand we haven't seen a destructive weather event like this in decades. Our infrustructure certainly isn't designed for cyclones, because we usually don't get them. I also want to say thank you to Lady C and everyone for your prayers. Thankfully, Kiwis are incredibly resilient and will do anything to help each other. Our nation is pulling together in this crisis. We're a team of five million - always have been and always will be. But please keep praying - there are a lot of families grieving over the loss of loved ones, their livelihood and their homes. One of our youngest losses was a little girl of two years, who got swept away in the floods. It's heartbreaking. Much love from New Zealand.
Can you imagine silt that is just below your roofline. That is how many people found themselves. One woman got into her attic to escape & still didn't escape the water & sludge.
I was holidaying on the Coromandel two weeks before this occurred.
There was flooding the week we were there & there werr mud slides. After we left there was more rain that left destruction & loss of lives, but this cyclone down the east of the northern Island is horrendous.
Lives lost; houses buried in silt & many destroyed. Families homeless & having to start from scratch. Many farmers could be ruined financially by this.
Kiwis are a hardy bunch but there is just so much one can take. Prayers to all affected.

A New Zealander here - thank you all for your good wishes. I have a daughter (with a family) and a son (with a family) who thankfully haven’t lost anyone. They are without power, food going off, and seem to be desperate to come here to their family. If roads are open and they can get petrol they will. We are heartbroken for the families who have lost loved ones and their homes and belongings. The news reports are horrendous to watch. 😢

I've got a feeling divorcing H is already at the back of her mind. Her focus is her brand, to fulfill her ambitions, to become a celebrity and in order to do this, she relied heavily on H's status and her connections to the Royal family. It's now been backfiring, especially after the NF fiction series and even more after H's book. H's become an object of ridicule. She's conscious he is painted as someone who's very immature and not very bright, not only in the UK, but in the US more and more now where celebrities are openly mocking him and criticizing him and it's reflecting on her big time for being married to someone who has no star appeal like she hoped. Add to this that she must be panicking, running scared about her security after H's comments on his army "exploits" that went down like a lead balloon and put himself and his family at high risk. It's not doing her any favours to be associated with him anymore and H's become a stumbling block to the future she's been hoping to build. In my opinion, it won't be too long until she parts ways with him in order to "save" herself even though, to be honest, she will never be a celebrity in the way she hopes as she's burned her bridges and her popularity has been plummeting more and more in her own country to the point A-listers are keeping her and H at a distance now. More and more people are now seeing both her and his constant lies and hypocrisy and they're being called out. She's got nothing of value to offer either, more like full of hot air.

My brother in law and sister in law are there on vacation. My sister-in-law has relatives there so I’m praying for them. They had been waiting to go there for the past 2 years as they scheduled originally before COVID so they had to wait for the country to reopen. Praying they are ok. They live in the Netherlands and my husband usually speaks with them everyday. He hasn’t been able to contact them so we are concerned. Praying for everyone who lives there. 😢

(My first and last time I will never do that again. Even if they let us know it is going to rain for three days and four nights, I’m leaving town 😀) We prepared for the hurricane water, food, gasoline, important papers, etc. We all take sooo many amenities for granted and realize how fortunate we are to have water,food,gasoline,electric, and communication when we no longer have any of them. When the cat5 was over after two terrifying days of heavy rain going sideways and howling winds we were without electric, water, or communication. (We gave our cell phones a full charge before the hurricane and did not touch them) All the cell towers were blown away. Portable cell towers were put up as soon as possible, but they were inadequate. After about eight days later, our son finally broke through with very sporadic limited time to talk. We can talk later with the details. (Without electric to charge our cell phones, we had to preserve what little charge we had left in the cell and we still could not call out. Impossible.) Needless to say, our son was beside himself just to know we were ok. He was seeing on the TV daily what has happened that we could not, nor did we have even the slightest information what was going on around us that contributed to his concern. So, no matter what, keep calling your loved ones all day, all day and don’t give up. Remember, just the logistics alone to try to bring a community back as quickly as possible and the welfare of everyone is a monumental task. I’m sure your brother-in -law and sister-in-law want you to know everyone is ok, but perhaps logistically they can’t right now. Keep trying and I will pray all is well with you and your family. ❤

Thanks for everyones thoughts, best wishes and prayers for my homeland NZ. My brother escaped the worse from the cyclone but didn’t escape the earthquake. I still haven’t been able to get in contact with family and friends in Hamilton yet though ….

@@beccaboo3040 We are ok thanks, there has been so much going on with him in the past 5 years since his accident, he wasn’t expected to live, then major cancer surgery later on in the same year which again was life threatening. All this now is damage from the radiotherapy. We get used to bad news but we do try and stay positive. Thank you for caring 😘🙋♀️
