  • If you're an avid slots player, you know it takes more than luck to walk away with your pockets full of winnings. While there's no magic formula to guarantee success, there are a few things you can do to increase your chances of hitting the jackpot and ultimately becoming a better slots player.
In this video, we'll be sharing the top 5 things you MUST do to be a better slots player and go home with more of your winnings. Whether you're a seasoned player or just getting started, these tips will help you maximize your chances of success.
    1. Set a budget: One of the most important things you can do when playing slots is to set a budget. Determine how much money you're willing to spend before you start playing and stick to it. This will help you avoid overspending and will ensure that you don't walk away with empty pockets.
    2. Choose the right machine: Not all slot machines are created equal. Before you start playing, take a look at the payout percentages for the machines you're interested in. Choose a machine with a high payout percentage to increase your chances of winning big.
    3. Know the rules: Each slot machine has its own set of rules and paylines. Take the time to read the rules before you start playing so you know what to expect. This will help you avoid costly mistakes and ensure that you're making the most of your time and money.
    4. Play the maximum bet: While it can be tempting to play it safe and bet the minimum, playing the maximum bet can increase your chances of hitting the jackpot. Many machines offer bigger payouts for players who bet the maximum, so it's worth considering.
In conclusion, becoming a better slots player takes more than just luck. By setting a budget, choosing the right machine, knowing the rules, playing the maximum bet, and taking advantage of bonuses and promotions, you can increase your chances of hitting the jackpot and walking away with more of your winnings. So the next time you hit the casino, keep these tips in mind and see if they help you become a better slots player.

Following your advice my wife and I had an amazing day on Fri. We went in with $100 each and found some lower volatility reel machines to build up on. I ended up hitting a $900 line hit. I banked most of it and took a few hundred to go play Buffalo Gold. I got my first ever handpay! $5383. 81 free spins on the bonus game and all the Golden Buffalo heads. It was the best feeling in the world. The adrenaline had my hands sweaty and shaking.

I like to put in $100 at a time. If it gets to $150, I cash out and stash the ticket and put another $100 in. I keep doing the same (cashing out at $150 or higher) and putting in a new $100 until I lose the entire $100. Then I quit. And, obviously, if I lose the first $100, that’s my session and I’m done!

Yes I'm looking into different techniques. I was looking into doing exactly what you're doing but with a $20 bill and saying if it goes above 20 I'm just going to pull it out put that in my front pocket and take another 20 out put it in if it goes above 20. The question is what percent of the time do I lose my 20 or do I get $21 or more. At the moment it's about 33% of the time I get 21% or more I'm not sure how to raise that percentage. I'm curious with your $100 method what's your percentage that you get up to your $150 goal?

    • @slowmads
      @slowmads 6 місяців тому +2

@@painfullyhonest well, I’ve never been that scientific about it. I just know that the technique limits my losses at slot machines. And, every so often, I have a streak and come out way ahead! Once I had 8 tickets totaling $1100 until I lost my $100. A nice profit.

Also one time my mom sat down at a Buffalo link machine and picked $0.25 denom and put a $100 bill in, and pushed to bet 100 credits thinking it was a dollar. It was $25 😂 she had no clue. Luckily she accidentally won $6000, but it can be a big gut punch!

Happened to me! I thought I was betting $2.50, nope, it was $25 by accident. I won a jackpot, but only a little over $1200. Not really worth it, unless the JP shows up quickly. Four spins at $25 each = $100. That adds up way too fast. Other times, similar mistakes, but NO jackpot. Just lost a lot of money in a hurry. UGH.

When I hit a decent pay out spin, (that amount of ‘decent’ varies with everyone. But let’s say I make a $3 spin and get a good bonus round for a few hundred bucks, I usually cash out and move on. I like to accumulate a stack of winning tickets that way, instead of giving the money back to the machine by expecting another great spin.
After a bit, if I desire to play that machine again, I’ll come back with a conservative amount of money less than what I won to try and insure I’m going to hold onto some of that original win.
You’re right. Self control and discipline is the key to walking out of the casino with more money than I walked in with. It’s fun to play slots and even more fun when you’ve played for a few hours with a nice profit to enjoy.

Over the years, I started to deploy what I call my "Hit-N-Run" strategy. Typically, I do it when in Downtown Vegas where I can leave one casino and enter another in minutes. I find one of my favorite machines, drop in a predetermined amount and start playing. So say I put in a hundred...more often than not, within a few spins I will be up to $120-$130. I immediately cash out and start walking. If I lose around $30, I cash out and find another machine. This weird way of playing has netted me quite a few bucks over the years. Plus, it's a neat way to see what every place has to offer. Also, I've joined more than a few slot clubs and sometimes they have had free play, etc that I took advantage of.

There is something that I call "winner's tilt". This is why (in my opinion) gamblers put all their money back after a huge jackpot win. They actually go into a different mode after they win. I've done it so many times. They begin to think they can't lose and get very reckless, betting higher and staying at the casino longer. The best way I handle it nowadays is go home and buy something I wanted but couldn't afford before and pay as many bills as I can. Then I can go back to the casino next time with new money. It can be so much more fun that way!! It isn't even hard to do.

Used your build up method at Aria couple of weeks ago. Hard to find older games there. I did find a .25 five line top dollar and played every morning and built up at least two hundred for the day. Also ended my night there before going upstairs and usually walked away with another two hundred. Didn’t do as well on higher priced machines, but never put more than twenty in the one I found. yeah I like those little Winners' Banks - they're about the size of a deck of cards. But they have a limit as to how many hundos you can stuff into them - I've found that more than $800 just won't fit and the bills get torn up if you try force in more. So, I have one in my purse and one extra in my car. If I get a big win, it's good to take a break, walk to the car; put some of the hundreds into the extra bank; then I move the car in case anyone has been watching me. Then, with a good portion of a jackpot safely stowed away (the keys to the banks are of course at home), I can allow myself to play some more and enjoy myself, knowing that I'm going home WITH cash.

We know better but seem to not remember what usually happens…our wheels have fallen off again. It might sound really simple but #4 is a good tip. I made a massive mistake one time. I’m almost too embarrassed to even admit it, but what the Hell. I was in the High Limit room at I think the Bellagio and I was playing a game and actually won a small hand pay, but then I got up and moved to another machine. I put a $1,000 voucher in and saw that the button farthest to the right said 888 on it. I guess I don’t know what exactly I was thinking but I guess I thought it was maybe only an $8.88 bet. Nope. It was an $888 bet. Maybe the denomination was set on dollars and I didn’t notice. I really don’t know. Of course I didn’t hit anything and I was absolutely shocked when I looked at my credits and saw I only had $112 remaining. It was then when I realized what I had just done. Then I said to myself “Damn, if only I had hit something.” But, what can you do?

Great advice to stick by. I am so bad. I get sucked in and end up losing what I won and then put in more money to chase my loses. I cuss myself out for doing this. I had a counselor once who told me that the high you can get from gambling is the same high people who abuse drugs get. It works on the exact same receptors in the brain as addictive drugs. Also, one casino I’ve played at won’t let you go take a break and sit in the seats away from the gaming for more than a few minutes. After a few minutes they will tell you can’t sit there any longer and that you need to be playing. It didn’t happen to me, but I saw it happen to a man who was waiting while his wife played.

I jumped on a machine at the pala casino last week thinking I was playing less than I thought. I put my 50.00 in pressed the button and won 800.00!!! Thank goodness I won otherwise I would’ve been crying especially I was walking out the door at that time.

Thanks Marc for the advice. I've bet $125 when I wanted $12.50. It's so easy to miscalculate the bet amount when you are dealing with denom, lines played, and wager per line. Three separate decisions will dictate your total wager per spin.

Thanks so much for your videos. I'm shocked at how much money I've left with casinos over the years... partly because I didn't have the knowledge you share and also because I simply went along with the machine's 'designed temptation'.
I'm grateful to have access to your channel.

Hi Marc that’s really great info about the game rules, I never knew they showed things like the actual bonus payouts on the piggies and stuff. I will definitely pay more attention to the game rules, after all it’s our hard earned money we’re putting into these machines! It gets tough when your local casino has like 7k machines 😂 Thanks guys.

As far as I can see the only thing that will make you a better slot player is to understand that slots are a form of entertainment the fact is the more you play and the bigger stake you play the more you will loose
in the long run you will never win at slots understand this
then pick your favorite slot and enjoy 😉

Slot machines are like day trading. You need a game plan and technical skills like trailing stop loss and stop limit. If you are just mindlessly pressing a button, casino always get their money back.

My wife & I just started going to the casino and playing slots. How do you tell the difference between the progressive and must hit by slots?

    • @CowboySlots
      @CowboySlots  Рік тому +1

90% of the progressives you find are "normal" progressives. If it's a must-hit by progressive, you will see the words "Must Hit By", "Must Win By", or "Must Pay By" and then the number somewhere near where the progressive is displayed to you. On older games, it might be in the game rules, but that's very uncommon.

So, I used to work in Vegas, rarely played at all. But when I would go for a coffee there was that lone Video poker machine had been sitiing there all night. For sonme reason when I played it, it almost always gave me a winning hand within the first 2 or 3 games, Then it seemed to start sukin it back. So I would take my little earnings and buy my coffee or whatever.
I say all that to ask this question, does inactivity on a game have anything to do with the wins ?
Probably not, but I always looked around the casion at the machines that looked like they were not played recently, seem the first bets were winners often, then came the suck back.

We like to play at the casino on cruises. Does the machine respond differently when you have a players card? We've made friends on the ships who are bigger gamblers than we are.
It feels that we can sit next to them, mimick what they do, and they win and we don't.

Contrary to mainstream advice, I always use an ATM card. My budget is $1,000 for a one night stay. I pull my daily $500 limit when I arrive. If I get wiped out then my card resets at 1AM and can get $500 more. My bank refunds all ATM fees. Don’t bring any other way to get $ so keeps me honest and spaces my max limit out.

A long time ago I sat at a machine and I spent about $100 trying to get the bonus round to hit. FINALLY, to my delight, I got the three bonus "free spins" symbols.........and nothing happened. I was confused. It was then that I looked at the game rules and discovered that I needed to be betting max to be eligible for the free spin bonus. I won't even try to describe the anger I immediately felt. From that moment on, I have never sat at a new slot machine without reading the rules before putting any money in.
