Love your off the shoulder sweater! Classic Christmas mixed with organic! Real tree, fresh greens, paperwhites, amaryllis, velvet ribbon, gold and plaids!
I like to TRY to incorporate 1,3, & 5 - the traditional with the modern, mixed with natural, earthy elements. It can be tough to pull off, but I try! 😂 There are even elements of the cottage style I like, but I do not (at all!) like the 70s scene. Even as a kid, I disliked colored lights, tinsel, or what I thought looked fake. Now, all that gives me a headache and is not calming to me at all. I have an elderly Aunt who still decorates this way and when I visit her (if I visit-haha) during the holidays I remember to bring my Excedrin. 🤕🤣 Your tree is beautiful, btw, Ashley. Thank you for your ideas - always ❤
It's amazing how many different styles there are to blend in holiday decor! I love elements of all the styles and love pulling in bits of inspiration from each as well🥰
I love the more neutral, minimal look and traditional the most. Our 80s cheap medium sized tree and the coloured tinsel and the old coloured baubles always put me off Christmas. In the 90s when my kids were small we also had a cheap old style tree and the choice of decor was basic so I didn’t enjoy them either. We were in a remote Aussie town. Now I have a nice tree and decor and love it. I’ve just made 2 sets of bells, one set is a rustic style and there’s nothing like them online. I’m now going to make a few tall vases in the same style.
Bonsoir Ashley. ❤ the traditional style but the merry modern is starting to interest me. Thanks for your ideas. Always watching your videos on Sunday night. Christine one of your loyal fans.
I had a lot of fun a few years ago making 2 wreath bases from a vine in my yard. Each are 2ft wide and only cost $16. I wrapped the wire circles in raffia so the vine wouldn’t scratch a wall or door. Wreaths are expensive and hard to get in Australia so I’m really happy with mine.
I’m a cross between Merry Modernist and Organic Ornamental. Both are more “seasonal” and less “holiday”, which is my preference. I may put out a Santa or reindeer, but remove after the holiday and enjoy the greenery until early spring.
Definitely the merry traditional😍. Nothing other than the deep red and green can make the decor feel Christmasy. Not a fan of the Noel style and the other feels more like a seasonal decor rather than festive. Like the organic ornamental style though ❤️.
I'm Twinkling Traditional + Noel Nostalgic. Bright, sparkling, and opulent are my key words. I like Cottage Charmer, but I think I would do it once and then never again. Sort of like a fashion that you like on someone else but it isn't right for you.
To clarify, I like the Noel Nostalgic antique and whimsical angle. Antique train decorations, for example, and blown glass ice cream cones and candy canes. I also have a Lenox water pitcher of Santa Clause ice skating and a musical snow globe of a Christmas village and ice skaters.
I’m a mix of a few, you might say I have multiple personalities when it comes to Christmas decor 🙈😁. classic/traditional, vintage, natural, with a sprinkle of modern 😊, for me natural greenery plays a huge part in the classic/traditional look, because after all, greenery was how most people decorated a hundred or more years ago 🤷♀️..i have found over the past 3 or 4 years I’ve been sourcing vintage items that were familiar to me as a child growing up in the 80’s, but they are always items that are very classic, I’m not really a fan of the sparkly tinsel garlands, which were very popular in the UK when I was growing up, but my husband loves them 🤷♀️, I’ve vetoed tinsel for a very long time 😂, but this year I’ve told my husband that I will use tinsel somewhere…I’m not sure where 🤷♀️, but I won’t be draping the stuff all over everything, which is ideally what my husband would want 🙈🤣. I’m trying to find a compromise 🤷♀️ 😂, loved the video 😊xx
Ashley what are your thoughts on flocked tree and matching fireplace mantle with flocked or traditional green real touch garland? I did flocked for both last Christmas but thinking of changing it this year
Ohhhhh, I LOVE a flocked tree!!! I think ornaments looks so beautiful against the fluffy white flocking❤️ I feel like you can’t go wrong with classic green garland. If the tree sits close to the mantle, I might change it up for the mantle, but if the tree is in another part of your house, it might be nice to tie the two together visually by doing flocked garland on the mantle as well. Either would be beautiful, honestly... sounds like a dreamy Christmas design scheme to me❣️🎄
@ thank you 😊 they are positioned right next to each other. The tree is the king of Christmas flocked it’s gorgeous I want the tree to be the main focal point but just not sure of non flocked on mantle. How do I make it complement the tree 🤔🤔
@@marymccourt914 I think you could weave in some creamy white elements into the green garland on the mantle. Maybe cream velvet ornaments, pretty cream ribbon, or even white mercury glass baubles, or a collection of taper candles in a pretty cream color! Anything that would continue the color palette over on the mantle!

Traditional is the one it gives warmth feeling set for the holiday mood
It’s a classic! Reminds me of how my mom decorated my childhood home, there’s just nothing better🎄

That sounds amazing! I love that you were able to make your own wreaths, it’s always fun to DIY for the holidays❤️
Beautiful Christmas images! I'm definitely Organic Ornamental with bits and pieces of the other styles thrown in.
That sounds like a beautiful blend of styles!🎄
Thank you for the ideas. I wasn’t sure what to do this cmas. Now I know. 😊
So glad you found some inspiration!🎄

That sounds so beautiful! I love that you decorate for the season, not just the holidays, I try to do the same with some of my decor elements!
So cute!!!! I love the cottage Christmas charmer ;)
Awe thanks so much! Cottage Christmas is one of my favorites, too!🎄
Traditional with a touch of gold and introducing this year the color “Black”. 😅
Love the addition of black!! Sounds like a gorgeous holiday style 🖤🎄
@ thank you! 🤗
I’m traditional but sometimes cross over to other styles just a bit 😊
I honestly love them all too!
