I like the videos like these where you zoom out of perspective of the cities. Very insightful and giving me a really good visual scoop of the Hawaii cities. Keep it up!! It’s helping me solidify a decision on where to go eventually
Mahalo for this video...Like other vids you have posted, I have enjoyed hearing about all of the places of my youth and the changes since I left for the mainland...Again mahalo.
definitely probably ono thai place is fire
We grew up in Ewa Beach when all you could see was cane fields. It sure has changed, and I'll be checking it out this month. Vacationing at the Mililani Mauka Resort, and will be driving around Ewa Beach to reminisce about the old times. Our family has lived there since 1960, and things were really laid back. Kids would play any kind of sports right in the street using the slippers for markers. Times have changed, and all we can do is remember. I'm going to get some limu from Oneula beach where our mother used to take us. Lived across Ewa Beach Elementary, walked to Ilima Intermediate on the hot asphalt of Papipi Road, and graduated Campbell in 1976.
Good idea, come in with a low cost listing grabs more attention and buyers will bid it up
In regards to why we don't have mainland banks like Wells Fargo or Citi in HI, it's complicated. But it basically comes down to being too expensive to win customers in HI and the market not being large enough to justify the investment. The local banks and credit unions first of all have a pretty firm advantage from already being here and having built relationships over decades. Bank of America actually had operations in HI up until the 90s but withdrew because they weren't growing like they wanted to and having operations for islands a couple timezones away from any of their other customers (not to mention daylight savings, which pushes HI even further off from the hours of the nearest federal reserve bank in San francisco) is difficult (i.e. expensive). Local institutions have built some custom ways to cope (e.g. they run their own network for Bank transfers without having to send everything through a federal reserve on mainland hours).
We can actually see the same thing play out locally with businesses like Bank of Hawaii withdrawing their operations throughout the Pacific (e.g. selling their branches in American Samoa to the government to run) except Guam and Saipan because most of the island nations they were in they were losing money and the organization was unable to focus on where they were making money (HI and GU).
@@jofujino thank you for the comment. Do you work in banking?
@movingtohawaii I used to work in banking. Specifically corporate banking.
Not sure if this is the location or not, but there is a condo/townhouse location in Ewa Beach, that has HORRIBLE reviews. do your due diligence, by seeing it there are reviews from property owners at the location and what they say, before going too far into things with a purchase.
Always good to do your research as well then ask Core Team the questions you need to.
They are very honest with their clients.
I love living in Kapolei. Ewa Beach is a good area as well.
A little slower at the bumps!! Glad you kept that part in.
8:50 Brian and Danielle are my neighborhoods
@@Audioaddi great people
My family and I are moving back to oahu from Texas. Summer of 2025. We have 2 cars. Mines an 07 cadillac runs fine but has high milage and a rebuilt title. Currently worth tops $1,500. You think it's worth taking or no.
I live in South OC, CA & Ewa Beach seems like it would be a very easy transition yeah?
those HOA fees gonna eat you alive
no sidewalks? why do developers do this? we really need less of these sorts of homes in Hawai’i. it’s isolating and depressing
These are condo single family homes. There is a maintenance fee.
