15:06 hard agree, just imagine being a few months into a no zombie respawn run and finally finding a pack with a few cigs in it. The relief/joy that character will have lol.
Prone to illness and thin skinned are definitely takes and then counteract it with outdoorsy. So 11 points for 2. You won't see scratched by trees, no colds from exploring in the rain.
Thank you very much for making this video, I wanted to make a burglar buid and I couldn't find any video, now I was able to do it after watching your video, thanks bro hug from mexico
It's tough! I feel with it's changes, it'd be a solid negative at maybe +6. I've been running a trial build, cleared out most of Echo Creek and the gas station, and found a whopping three cigarettes and a cigar. lol
Thanks for the tips! Recently been busy, so figuring it out on my own been a huge time saver. Ive actually tried fast metabolism with hearty appetite. Eating more but with the metabolism keep me from gaining weight. It might be free -ish point.
Clever! Gives you 6 points. I'll have to try it out. Fast Metabolism knocks down your fitness by 1 point, which can be counteracted by the Fit trait (costs 6 points, would then raise your baseline fitness to total of 6), but that could be fine if you forego the fitness. I'll have to play with that a bit and see how big the food cost is. 6 free-ish points could have huge build potential.
19:18 just thought of it when you were talking about slow healer. I always take slow healer, but I wonder if it makes your recovery time from overexerted limbs take longer to heal. I haven’t tested anything yet just thought of it.
I think you're right. I'm noticing that fitness seems to be related to recovery more than anything else. My unfit character fully exhausted took 1hr 20min to recover seated, but only 1hr seated for my character at 5 fitness. I'm wondering if there may be some hidden debuffs to damage based on "Slow Healer," whereas though Infected means nothing serious, it could mean that it remains as a status debuff longer and thus provides a small debuff of strength from the affected area.
Unless it was changed, slow healer doesn't actually make you heal at a slower rate, it makes every injury more severe. That makes it worse than it looks at first glance, but in a game where a single injury can mean death, it's still worth it. Conversely, fast healer makes every injury less severe. If you trip while fast vaulting a fence with slow healer, you'll usually limp, but with fast healer you usually won't.
The only thing an infected wound does is giving your character the pain moodle. If its one scratch it really doesnt matter as minor pain doesnt affect gameplat whatsoever but having more injuries could be a problem and should probably be treated. That said just take pain pills and then it really doesnt matter
idk if this is the reason but while claustrophobic is relatively accurate, the term agoraphobic is not actually the opposite of claustrophobic. it used to be conceptualized that way but we know now that agoraphobia is a rly complicated and multifaceted disorder
I'm still finding smokes from cars and convenience stores. I don't have a pile of several hundred, but on my 3rd day on my current game I'm sitting on a comfortable 8 packs. I'm also finding cigars, cigarillos, and the occasional tobacco chew. The problem with smoker now is the incompatibility with athletic. Now I know the stereotype, but it's just that, a stereotype. I know people who are incredibly athletic that smoke. Yes, it's bad for you. Yes, they'd probably be better off not doing it. But no, they're not coughing wrecks that couldn't run down the street to save their lives. Hell, one of them is opposite and runs triathlons. Some people are just built different. Thankfully, a mod already exists to remove that stupid decision.
i agree, smoker nerf is completely stupid mainly not being able to pick up athletic with it. also not being able to wash rags in sink and needing a pot is ridiculous it makes no sense, and can't disinfect rags in boiling water just seems like difficulty for sake of difficulty being added with no logic behind it, it just feels annoying more than anything.
I disagree but to each their own. People forget this is a hardcore sandbox zombie survival game. If you go to the workshop and click to only show you b42 mods, there’s over 1k mods out now .
Complete opposite opinion here. I wish you guys would stay silent and let the devs make their true vision for apocalypse and use the sandbox settings and mods to dumb the game down if that’s what you’d personally prefer

Nice video! One thing though, I have always taken weak stomach, and I have *never* had an issue eating stale food. Not even once.
I use it all the time and have eaten stale food and it’s been safe just don’t eat rotten food or any unknown cans of food or like certain herbs.
man i've taken smoker for a 100 day run and jesus it's tough! thanks for talking about it i had no idea haha

I don't know if you meant rotten but stale food doesn't matter for weak stomach
Oh really? I swore I got food poisoning from stale during B41, but I must've been mistaken. Thanks for letting me know!
I was so confused at that part I thought they must've changed it for B42
you only become depressed if you eat stale food.
@@gredge6796Maybe you confused stale with burnt? Burnt food will kill you for some reason.

I didn't find my first nicotine until day 14. A single cigar. With all these plants, surely I can grow something? I whittled a dang pipe!

great video, easy to follow too
Glad to hear it, thanks!

Thin skinned is really good points, just stay away from trees.
i havent tried it but seems sleepyhead is not as bad since there seems to be a bug or something, drink a soda gets rid of so much sleepiness
I like long playthroughs but idk if it caps out my strength/fitness if I start with puny/unfit
idk why Indie Stone is so shy about giving us a more detail description on what traits actually do.
They said because mods do it better on a livestream

Im not sure if stealth is bugged. By default the zombie senses are random. You may have just came across a zombie with heightened hearing.
Seems like they just sucked more fun out of the game with build 42. Needs a lot more balancing.

I’m sure mods will do some work
New mod:
“Revert smoker”
