سورة الواق هي السورة السادسة والخمسون من القرآن الكريم، وتتألف من 96 آية. تُسمى السورة بهذا الاسم نسبةً إلى "الواقعة"، التي تشير إلى يوم القيامة، وهو موضوع رئيسي يتكرر في السورة. تصور السورة بشكل حي وواضح أحداث يوم القيامة، وتؤكد على حتمية هذا اليوم، وتقسيم الناس إلى ثلاث فئات: "أصحاب اليمين" (المباركين)، و"أصحاب الشمال" (المهلكين)، و"السابقون السابقون" (المقربين إلى الله). كما تتأمل السورة في قدرة الله الخالقة وحتمية البعث، مستخدمة أمثلة من الطبيعة كآيات على قدرة الله. وتختتم السورة بمقارنة بين مصائر الأبرار والفجار في الآخرة، مما يعزز أهمية الإيمان والأعمال الصالحة.
