I am Thai and most Thais usually know specific time to visit those islands in the east or south of Thailand. In addition we also have to consider whether it is low or high season to visit. High season means it costs more for flight tickets, hotels or more tourists.

Keep sharing! Northern Thailand, Central Thailand, and Southern Thailand actually have different weather patterns. Most information sources only share Central Thailand seasonal patterns which may get travelers to other regions in a bind. Example: Northern Thailand is a no-go between January to March because of rice field burning.

The El Niña (not niño)? It has been affecting weather globally these past 6 (?) months. Apparently, it will now slowly transcend into El Niña with basically the opposite long lasting weather system, meaning higher temperatures and draughts. But how that affect different parts of the planet, like over Thailand, Idk.

Patong is a part of Phuket.. I have lived here in Thailand for 23 years. Unfortunately travellers like yourselves get ripped off, taken for fools and have no idea how this Country works. Nobody but tourists use Grab..it is far to expensive for us locals. Rawai beach is a tourist trap. The best Thai food is street food..we locals hardly ever eat in the tourist resturants. Just for info, during the monsoon season the main overflow sewer empties into the river one KM from Rawai Beach..A month in Thailand will not even scratch the surface of Thai culture, especially in the Tourist trap that is Phuket. You might as well fly to Las Vegas for a month and do the same there..But, thanjs for soending your cash 😂

Also, I have never heard of a restaurant saying they don't make non spicy dishes for farang. Never. Phuket prices are not Thai prices. Travelers should check out travel videos for Chiang Mai, Bangkok and Pattaya.

Hello Trevor and Anna, Happy New Years greetings to you from an equally grey and Mostly rainy Nova Scotia. Some days we all get more rain than we want, for sure. In my part of NS, we have had 11 straight days of rain, sometimes freezing rain and yesterday Jan 7 was our first day of any sunshine since Dec 26. And the night before it actually snowed enough to cover the grass and trees with that sparkly snow. Our first snow of any type here in the valley west of Halifax. It was so pretty while it lasted, couple of hours. Que cera cera!
I’ve been very busy with full time childcare these past few months which Allows much less opportunity to enjoy quiet moments to dream with you guys. Winter brings its annoyances no matter where we are on the earth. It’s meant for quieter spaces and more introspection time, so a massage and pool time even if it’s raining cats and dogs sounds like a good plan and , of course, really good food. Maybe like the couple on the beach, you just dance in the rain, especially if it’s a warm rain.😉Good days guys. From NS

We arrived in Phuket a few days ago and have had nothing but nice weather. What has changed from our previous visits is the traffic which has really gone from bad to worse. And the invasion of Orcs... this will be our last time in Phuket. Sadly...

We can totally relate to this. We also slow travel a lot and in Mexico we picked a place to stay for a month and the weather was no the best, had to run from a few tropical storms and hurricanes and ended up being next to a party house with loud music ALL night. But like you guys we stayed positive and made the best out of the situation. like you said travel doesn't always go to plan but you don't have to let it get to you.

Well it’s hot with high humidity. Throughout the early part of the daily heat evaporates water into Vapour which the less dense hot air Carries that moisture upwards. Once that water rises enough so it condenses in in cooler denser air that results in heavy rainfall. Heavy cloud cover in this case is likely due to abundant moisture in the air. The unsettled weather may also be contributed with some irregularities with this years Monsoon season.

Funny thing is that we are planning to be in Thailand next November and are kind of chuckling to ourselves as it seems that everywhere we go we bring the rain (which is ironic given that we are from the West Coast of Canada). As for what we watch when it rains: Netflix: Kaleidoscope, Recruit. Apple+: Echo3, Mythic Quest, Slow Horses Prime: Jack Ryan. So many more, but this is our latest set of TV goodness.

Did you miss that part? It literally downpours while we’re filming 😂😂😂. We also said in the video that it was December. But why bother paying any attention 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️..(FYI- most UA-camrs - especially in the travel genre are a bit behind - it’s A LOT of work, never assume something was filmed in the last couple of days).

The cost of living in Phuket is three times of Chiang Mai. Even most Thai people do not go to Phuket. So if anyone is thinking of going to Phuket make sure you have enough money. A place like Phuket if you have enough money you can get everything you want. If you want a beautiful environment like Phuket but don't want to pay a lot.You should choose another place to live.
In Chiang Mai you can live on 5 USD per day while in Phuket you have to spend 5 USD per meal.
