Here's a step back in to Pinstriping History! Goodguys TV sat down to talk with Steve Kafka, the current owner of the Original Von Dutch Bus. Steve was more than happy to take us on a tour of the bus and explain why Kenneth Howard, the eccentric artist and pinstriper better known as Von Dutch, has such a strong place in Hot Rodding history.
Nice to see a fellow artist give credit to his colleague (as deserved) - instead of trying to take the credit for himself. Mr Kaftka seems like a humble man.
You are the true savior,of von Dutch history. Thank you.
My husband was so ecstatic to see this video. The photo that is shown at the 1:20 mark has his dad in it! His dad was Slimbo who is on the left side of the photo. My husband says that he used to be in that bus all the time when he was young. Thank you so much for posting the video!
If he’s in Phx I’d be happy to give him the tour, I was told that the interior configuration changed as machines wore out ,and were replaced
Nobody but a few appreciate a genius till they are gone.
Steve Kafka is a great guy and mentor to many up and coming pinstriping artists...
Dennis Schell thanks Dennis.
Where is the bus now? 2019
markman63 it’s still in Phx. Az. Waiting for a new home ,I just hope it ends up in this country...
It's for sale rn in Glendale California
The Shop Bus! He escaped Kali in it and eventually hated living in it then the Buckler's Family let him live in One of Homes. He didn't take it to France for the Le Mann's Movie. Kooler then the Grateful Dead Bus for sure! To bad the Demons got to him.
they should make a pinstriping or kustom car culture museum.
Craig Friday I’m all for it, putting all the sponsors together is the job...
@@stevekafka Steve have you seen this YT clip of Dutch? ua-cam.com/video/sO_6dTVvRLY/v-deo.html
stumbled across it a few days ago.
For all interested on Oct.17 ,on the history channel there will be a film about the restoration of Von Dutches bus. The name of the show is “Fully Torqued” hope you all watch it…
It would be appropriate for it to end up at the Petersen's. I guess even for them, the price is a bit steep, to say the least
Why did he call it the "Felony I"?
Wow…from 46 000$ to 5 000 000$ evaluation. Amazing
Turcot Yards funny how some things appreciate isn’t it...
I just found the bus on Facebook marketplace for over 6 million
You need to talk about how Kenny was always working on the souped up half tracks with McQueen.
Bill Gargan I usually mention the relationship he had with Steve McQueen , just more about pinstriping..
For sale rn for 6.8 mil
