The 'Red' and 'Velvet' concepts being swapped back and forth with every comeback, so for awhile you could kind of expect a certain type of song based off of whatever the last comeback's concept was. However, similar to Dreamcatcher constantly experimenting with their core Rock sound with each title track release, Red Velvet also liked to experiment with their concepts and sounds (experimentation is one of SM's known trademarks for all their groups). Especially the further you get into their discography, the more they start to blend their 'Red' and 'Velvet' sides into something truly amazing. One of the great things about Kpop is music genre fusing, and I believe Red Velvet was one of the groups to solidify that essence for the core sound in 3rd gen. Kpop.
Wendy will do Wendy things just like Solar and Siyeon do Solar and Siyeon things. Having Seulgi in your group is like having a super power; you'll hear a lot of vocals on this trip that seems like it should be Wendy but actually you heard Main Dancer Seulgi things. Red side videos will get WIERD. And Really Bad Boy is unrelated to Bad Boy.
Wendy is very very quickly becoming a real problem 😂 so yeah I can see the Siyeon and Solar comparisons in that she just goes off and blows your mind sometimes. But if you’re saying Seulgi is capable of doing that too, oof I’m in for a ride lol I am going to say I’m prepared for the weird, but I know I’m not 😂 and good to know, noted!
@@SylverReacts Wendy does the conventional top vocals and high notes but Seulgi hits in a slightly lower range with unique tonality and texture, kind of like the Solar and Hwasa vibe. It's too many things to enjoy, a great problem to have. The best bridge I've ever heard in kpop starts with Joy, Seulgi develops it in a way only her voice can, then Wendy tops it off with Wendy things (in Zimzalabim, defier of red or velvet labeling).

When Yeri joined the group, she helped Red Velvet add more layers, more depth, and more options when singing. It makes 'Happiness' better! Whenever talking about female Vocals of Gen 3, fans will always mention MAMAMOO and Red Velvet. But when MAMAMOO is known for Hwasa and Moonbyul both rap and sing very well. Red Velvet is only known for singing together, group harmony, and layers of vocals. Their vocals are much better than the other parts, so even though everyone knows Rap, it doesn't stand out. (Btw, Moonbyul has a song ft Seulgi called 'Selfish') Whenever other artists feature Red Velvet members, they only sing and never rap. This can be considered a minus point for them. If you want to find a group with unique performances, good choreography, good rap... Red Velvet will be a bit lacking. But when you want to find a place to listen to top vocals, you won't be bored when you see 5 people standing still or just moving gently, giving a little charm and singing a mini album full of ballads/slow songs. ... (slight spoiler) Red Velvet is where you want to go!

"I personally don't enjoy rap, and am glad that Red Velvet doesn't focus on it" is a lot better than "Rap's over-rated and I'm glad that Red Velvet treat it like an afterthought". We respect each other's opinions around here, even when we disagree with them
The tone is very different, one puts the feeling of dislike on your own tastes, the other says this genre of music is bad objectively. See the difference? I don't want to argue with you, like I said you're entitled to your own opinion, but if you can, try to make it clear that it's your opinion and not a statement of fact.
