This song reminds me of my neighbour's mother who passed away. They moved 2 years ago. I miss them. They were the best neighbours ever❤️❤️
This song has a 1970s vibe to it and it sounds very unique, even for a song that came out in the early 1980's.
I know. But even then, it does sound like a song in the 70's despite being released after the 1970's phased out.
When I met the love of my life in 1981 this became "our song" ...and we adored the Winelight album and played it for romantic times....over and over. We were together for a blissful life of 41 yrs. Later we had a tape version then a CD.
I was the young 32yo widowed mother of an 8 yr old girl when we met....she became a professional military pilot due to HIS encouragement and support.
We would lie together and dream of what our lives would be, make our plans, never sure we could make them come true...We had BIG dreams...we dreamt of sailing the Caribbean in our own boat once my daughter was grown. We had both been avid sailors since childhood. I was a college professor, he was a builder developer...bankrupt with a failed marriage...she walked out when he lost his money...lucky ME. I met him the night his divorce was final...we were just MEANT for each other.
He taught me investing we saved and invested and we made it to ❤50 and 55 and we were ready to sail away ...my daughter in the Coast Guard, enough money to buy the boat and live on hopefully for the rest of our lives...it was 1997❤. It hadnt been easy ...we worked hard at it together.
We sailed for 7 glorious yrs. The day came when we werent as fit to handle a 42 ft sailboat. We had already picked our forever place in the tropics. He built us a gorgeous comfortable home three stories with as much sq footage in outdoor covered terraces as inside...on all three levels for an outdoor lifestyle taking the place of living aboard a boat at sea. We were delirioisly happy there too.
In fact, the last chapter was the sweetest, though ALL of it had been a dream come true, even the striving, working, and saving. We were a team.
We entertained had many friends and I wasnt ready to give him up...I NEVER would have been ready, when he died in his sleep at ❤80 this past Sept of a heart attack. He didnt feel a thing.
But I did...it was a huge huge shock to have him wrenched from me. I can never be the person I used to be again, but oh what a joyous life I had.
I am dating a man 2 yrs older than he was and HE may not last long . He has COPD. No one ever takes the place of anyone else in ❤your life...each good person who enters your life is special and unique, but I of course cannot have 41 years of bliss again...
I was so so lucky and we both knew it as that life unfolded...we were so grateful, both of us. This is the first time I have listened to this song since he passed away past September and it makes me SO grateful...all over again.

After my mom passed it was just me and my day for 6 years at first it was rocky.
Growning up i always loved my father but due to work and responsibilities i had little time spend with him so he brought me toys and games to make up with coming home late and tired.
He and my mom were more than just husband and wife they were best friends far before i was born knowing eachother for 30 years since high school but never getting together till early 30s.
He alway stood by my mothers side no matter what even when she got breast cancer and doctor's said she couldn't have kids but they kept trying and had me.
But after my mother passed my relationship with my father was hard i remember coming home from the hospital late summer with my dad night with and when we got home.
I heard my dad crying both our rooms were only separated by a wall.
We rarely talked about eachother feelings and how we felt but that changed till i got into high-school i was at my worst thinking about harming myself.
Lucky my Dad was always there he always we reconnected and stay spending time with eachother.
We started watch more marvel movies together never missing a single one and he started to get into gaming with me more.
We even got a new house moving out our nasty old apartment it was a new step but sadly in 2020 my father passed away due to covid.
I always wondering how the hell im still have the will to live after losing the only two people i trusted and felt comfortable with.
Anyways moral of story make sure cherish every moment with the people you love and keep fighting for them love yall ❤👍🏾
