Hi Emma! I started learning English from scratch when I was 23 years, yet I am an English teacher now. Besides, I have been teaching English for ten yeats. Therefore, everyone can learn a new language whatever their age is. You are one of my favourite teachers on UA-cam. I really admire you and like your enthusiasm and energy in teaching. You are a role model and a great success.

Hello Mrs. Emma. I'm a middle schooler and in my country everything is canceled due to lockdown. My English wasn't that good until I found you and Lucy channels and both of you two are really elegant and outstanding teacher. The tip that I usually do is when I watch my favourite youtuber videos, I turn subtitles and then I try to say like them.Thank you mmmEmma. Stay safe.

Thanks a lot for your advice, Emma, this is great. I found a method to improve my vocabulary: if I can't remember a new word, I use one or two words I'm familiar with to give me a clue, whenever it's possible. For instance, if I can't remember the word "cabbage" I'll think about a taxi or a "cab"; if I can't recall the word "hearse" I'll think about a theater or an orchestra that I'll link to the word "rehearse" or "rehearsal"; for the word "spaniel", I'll think about "Spain" and the first name "Daniel"; etc.

    Well, hey there, dear Emma!
I'm very excited to say process of learning new English words 'n' phrases isn't always so fast as it can seem at the first sight at all! I know one absolutely effective way of learning, internalizing and surely, keeping them in my mind forever. I just wouldn't like to reveal this secret but I'm convinced a lot of students are aware of this one actually.
As always, a huge gratitude for the new lesson, my lovely coach! God blesses you, I'm sure!

When I was at Sepang at the end of March (Malaysia), I was sure precisely a New Year always comes to this country at January, 1st like everywhere though.
Maybe, you meant it's your specific national holiday you all call the New Year?! It's so intriguing to know this! Let on this small secret to me, please!

Did u know Emma,I have been watching you here at youtube for a week now.and yesterday I learned a lot on how can I expand more of my vocabulary of adjectives, instead of using VERY to describe something, to avoid repetition and boring words such as very bad, good, small, also I have been learning the use of past continous and past perfect continous that it's making me confuse and dizzy. But I love the imitation lesson more than any of the lesson i had watched.

    My present-day own bubble:
    1. Grammar
    2. I am always mentally forming increasingly complex sentences and I go on to pronounce them in a low voice. At this moment I am already able to form: if clause, simple verb patterns, causative verbs, passive voice, etc.
    3. Reading
    4. Writing
    5. Dictation
    6. Listening: simple songs, coaches on youtube
    etc.
P.P.: I haven't still practiced with English native speakers but I am looking forward to doing.
Trick: When I am already saturated with English then it is time to slow down for a while and when I come back with more energy my English is even stronger and more settled.

I just wanted to say that, for five months (approximately) I have followed this channel, absolute congratulations for the work carried out, I have visited in recent years more frequently the beaches of my country: Oaxaca, Cancun, etc., from where many people (tourists) speak English, thanks to the lessons of the channel I have improved my English, especially the pronunciation, which has allowed me to interact in a closer and enjoyable way with people from other countries and know them better. In my case it has worked for me for example to search for song lyrics and start singing, (although it sounds horrible ha!) This is a particularly good video. The use of insert shots really helped illustrate your points. (My friends in video production call them "B roll," I think.)
I remembered a few techniques to help language learners:
Find children's books in the language you're learning. They're specifically written to use core words without being too complex, and many feature well known, classic stories that will be familiar. You can even start with baby books and, as your reading skill improves, progress through early readers to YA (Young Adult) and so on. The possible downside is that you may not be able to determine the pronunciation of a word that's new to you, but there are websites for that.
Maybe read a book or watch a lecture on a subject you know something about, like math or science. Some of the vocabulary might be universal and can help you put new words into context. Ted Talks are generally fairly brief, informative, and feature speakers with good diction, but there are plenty of others available.
Listen, watch, or read humor. A lot of English humor relates to the various meanings words can have and jokes or riddles help keep your mind nimble. I was on a tour in China hosted by two English learners and this was a technique they used in their classes. Their favorite riddle was "What are two things which go up but never come down?" Their answer was: your age and smoke.
Even though I have native fluency with American English, I'm still learning from your videos. Not only Aussie words, but just how much average people can rely on idioms, which can be confusing because idioms aren't always identical across all versions of English. When I'm writing, I try to present things as clearly as you present your videos, with precise words and few idioms.

Hi Emma how you doin' ?.
You are right Emma, practice, practice, practice, practice, that's what you need if you wanna master a language, I can say that, as a matter of fact I can confirm it because I lived in the USA for 8 years but I still got a lot to learn about English, that's why I'm brushing up on it (on English) with you. You can learn a lot of preposutions, phrasal verbs, adjectives, adverbs and so on but if you don't practice, all that is just useful, well that's my point of view and opinion.

I've learned so much in your videos. I recommend reading books in English. In this way you can see how the vocabulary, sentences and even the grammar works.

@@mmmEnglish_Emma The first book I've read was "The fault in our stars" and the second "To all the boys I've loved before." They use a simply and natural vocabulary.☺ Now I'm reading the Hungergames.

Hi, Emma. At 14:31, you used the word "daggy", which is a new word to me. According to the Oxford Dictionary, it means "not fashionable". It's an Australian informal word, so thanks for teaching us a new word.

'Use it or lose it strategie' you can use the new words you learn in something you are passionate about such as hobbies, music, soccer, art, etc. This way most of the vocabulary will become active instead of passive.

    Hi Emma, how's it going?
thank you very much for sharing these incredible and invaluable tips with us. Anyone who is serious about learning English should follow all these tips that your share with us in this lesson and without a doubt we will success.
At this time I am appying most of these tips, the only one that I am not doing is the post-its, I swear, I am going to put it into practice.
Another thing that I have in mind is, to write a diary, I'm having this idea for weeks, defenitelly is time for me to start with this project.
Another tip or advice could be:
Enjoy learning English. Find a taste for what you do.
If you love what you do, things will be easier and effective.
Don't think that learning a language is a race, is a journey. So enjoy the tour.
