Even if it bounces perfectly, the bigger issue would likely be shooting (and to a lesser extent: passing). The aerodynamics of the ball will presumably be totally different than a regular ball.
Aerodynamically they’re almost identical, the airless weighs less though. So pretty much everybody including NBA players airball there first shot. They also don’t bounce as well as a standard basketball idk why people keep saying that, you can even see it in the videos and I’ve held and dribbled one it bounces like a slightly under inflated ball.
Apparently they tested it on dirt and outside and it doesn't collect little rocks or dirt in it & air doesn't affect it more then a real ball, but that is the company talking
I think it is worth in long term as people can be fully accustomed to a highly calibrated ball and fine tune their accuracy of ball handling and shooting only based on internal factors!
It’s useful for dribbling if you were to practice inside and live in like an apartment or something. Not useful for shooting bc the holes cause the ball to slow down in the air slightly
It's a cool tecnology, when (and if) comes down to the same price of a regular ball, It's going to be a cool option for poor people who can't afford buying balls every time they pop or who play in rough terrains.
Maybe if I had like a mini hoop in my backyard and didn't want to make sounds for the neighborhoods, otherwise what's the point. Also that price tag needs two 0s removed
I think the ball itself is nice but its a waste of money until it becomes more affordable. There's much better things you can do with that money than buy a basketball.
It weights the same?? That ball will get disgusting really quickly with sweat and dust stuck in between all those holes. And that airless ball will not be easy to clean.
Does it have the same feel? Can you Palm it? It has holes, playing outside with even a tiny bit of wind is going to turn into a giant wiffle ball... Wait that might be fun! Weird trick shots baby
It's not mean for mass production. For rich kids and influencers that can buy it, plus it's a collectable not so you can actually play it even though it works
🤔 I would think that this airless basketball would be better as a regulation basketball for NBA games, as the weight and dimensions can be far more uniform and accurate. Just a thought.
Maybe because it’s made my 3D printing… it’s called « Selective Laser Sintering » and I think they are working on elastomers like polyurethane thermoplastics in order to build these rubber balls. That’s why I’m really surprised about that price of 2,500$ cause I think I can print it whenever I want 😂
The squeak of sneakers and the bounce of the ball is the music of basketball.
tell that to my complaining neighbor.

I feel like a match with this ball would be awkwardly quiet, only thing you'd hear are the players breathing and the squeaking of their shoes
?????? Is everybody just going to magically forget how to speak? Is the crowd going to be quiet? Announcers? Buzzers? Bro forgot about his brain.
Car chases with all electric cars are pretty quiet compared to normal engines lol

Ball would be stolen in 2 seconds if you ever brought it to an outdoor court
😂
I mean, being able to hear the ball bounce is pretty important for things like court awareness.
Even if it bounces perfectly, the bigger issue would likely be shooting (and to a lesser extent: passing). The aerodynamics of the ball will presumably be totally different than a regular ball.
I concur, my thoughts exactly.
Ball is useless, airflow through the revolving holes creates resistance.
Who’s grabbing it at $2.5 k? Lol like is the ball going flat a real issue that a $2 pump can’t fix in 30 seconds? Lol
Right. I don't think you can find ten people combined that spend more than 2.5k on basketballs in a lifetime.
Resells for 10k too😭

not for outdoor playing. tiny holes can collect dirt and alter a shot.
also the wind through the holes

2.5k tht cost them probably 30$ max
Now we want to see an airless football 😂
Having airless basketball before GTA 6 is crazy 😱
If an influencer was in the form of a ball
Its supposed to do the exact same thing as a normal ball but cost 2500? This is likely the stupidest product ive ever seen
...but it looks cool! 😂
That's limited edition, there's only 75 of em out there, that's why it cost so much. It hasn't begun to massproduce yet!
you never need to worry about having flat balls ever again 💀💀😂😂
I hear it doesn't shoot the same. Meaning you airball at first shot.
Meaning its probable flows through the air differently.
Nah I’m gonna miss the swish if I have to use that ball
Problem is air goes through the holes when you shoot it and it will never go through the holes the same so it will always shoot different.
2 500 GFOR ONE BALL?! FUCK THAT LOL
If this balls fall in the river it's over
The only use case would be the sound if you're playing in an apartment building
$50-$60 for a basketball is already a lot,I ain't gatdamn paying $2500 for one🤷🏽♂️🍻🍺
Bro, they'll be 3D printing this for 12$ in a year
i can't agree more
wonder if its less predictable how it bounces of the rim
" this costs 2,500$ dollars "
3d printer : ...id make that just with 25$ 💀
Is there a shortage of air?
In probably a decade or so all basketball’s would be like this
I saw videos of people shooting it and goes airball. The air resistance to a regular ball is also a factor for a shooter.
It flies through the air differently
its good, once the price gets cheaper. It is standardisation of basketball and also allows for in house use
Imagine paying 2500 dollars to mess up your shot with a ball that doesn’t travel the same in air as a regular ball.
Retailed at 2500$ but nowadays the reselling price is 10k.💀😭
I’ll wait a few years when it’s affordable
I need to see a 5 v 5 with this
Probably more magnetic than the regular balls
I think it is worth in long term as people can be fully accustomed to a highly calibrated ball and fine tune their accuracy of ball handling and shooting only based on internal factors!
With that grip, everyones gonna turn into Kyrie with these balls
It’s useful for dribbling if you were to practice inside and live in like an apartment or something. Not useful for shooting bc the holes cause the ball to slow down in the air slightly
One bad jump crash 2,500$gone crushed
It's useful and a great ball but it costs way too much for it to be worth
only because it's still a prototype. in a few years it will be so cheap.
useful for what?
@@truthdetector4036 useful for playing quietly. a lot of neighbors hate the sound of bouncing balls.
Can make blisters
Did he say it costs $2500? If so, that’s too expensive
Reminds me of ANT’s shoe 😂

How well does it do outside?
Kyrie is gonna go crazy with these balls.
It's a cool tecnology, when (and if) comes down to the same price of a regular ball, It's going to be a cool option for poor people who can't afford buying balls every time they pop or who play in rough terrains.
😂Poor people lol
Hole edges will hurt fingers when you play long enough i think
It weighs the same, it bounces the same, but when you throw it..... it definitely does not move through the air the same as a normal basketball.
At the 2.5k asking price it's definitely useless 😂🔫
If that ball would be produced by me then useful for sure.
Maybe if I had like a mini hoop in my backyard and didn't want to make sounds for the neighborhoods, otherwise what's the point. Also that price tag needs two 0s removed
It's not worth 2500. It's still at the end of the day a basketball people. I can buy a good ball and a pump for way way less.
A youtuber made a video on this ball. Way different shooting and dribbling.
Shit resells for 10k😭
Its a child's toy they put years of work into making
I think the ball itself is nice but its a waste of money until it becomes more affordable. There's much better things you can do with that money than buy a basketball.
If it has a helpful technology built in to help track and improve shots/dribbling etc, maybe it's worth $2500.
I have never had a flat basketball on my life
I like the concept but who spending that much money on a ball besides rich folks?
it's only expensive because it's still on prototype stage. once it's mass produced, it will be cheaper than the leather ones.
It cost that much because it’s a Prototype when they release they wouldn’t be that much
I do need a solution for my flat BALLS
Good look hitting 3’s on a windy day
I'll print my own lol
If I was bill gates I’d consider it
I know we all heard the ai voice say “flat balls 😏”
Did the price of pumps sky rocket or something? Cuz if not how is a $2500 ball helping anyone financially or practically.
It weights the same?? That ball will get disgusting really quickly with sweat and dust stuck in between all those holes. And that airless ball will not be easy to clean.
It would be good if you live in a apartment and want to work on your handles.
I mean… are flat balls really plaguing basketball to the point of needing to create an airless counterpart? Lol
It’s cool but hell no it’s not worth it
I mean air is free so 2.5k is crazy
The exact same is the biggest lie I’ve heard 😂
$2500 for a bit of 3d printed plastic😂
Well it's useful but the price is high so it's not worth it
Would air resistance not be way off with the holes?
Apparently not they claim
Does it have the same feel? Can you Palm it?
It has holes, playing outside with even a tiny bit of wind is going to turn into a giant wiffle ball... Wait that might be fun! Weird trick shots baby
Perfect for betas
Like... how hard is it to inflate a $20 basketball if it gets flat that you need a $2,500 one?
It's not mean for mass production. For rich kids and influencers that can buy it, plus it's a collectable not so you can actually play it even though it works
if the nba decides to use it, it will be mass produced and will probably even cheaper than those leather ones.
Doesnt seem like it bounces very good so not sure why they said it bounces the same...
usefull
$2500 or get one for free by poking a hole into a real basketball
🤔 I would think that this airless basketball would be better as a regulation basketball for NBA games, as the weight and dimensions can be far more uniform and accurate. Just a thought.
But it doesn’t Shoot the same
it doesn't bounce the same
Literally every video I’ve seen of these, they bounce horribly .
