Nice job putting good information into a short video. One extra tip is get the best equipment for your budget. No more cheap Asian fly rods for me - snap crackle pop 😢. 👍🙏
@MichaelKaal-TriFisher When you pull it out of the box & the medium fast action is like casting with an 8ft limp spaghetti noodle you know you messed up 😂. 🎣 Learn the hard way. 🙈 Buy local & try it out. 👍
This video is incredibly helpful! I'm planning to start fishing this week, and as a complete beginner, it really helped me understand what to buy to get started. I’ll mostly be fishing from the beach, where the waves vary-sometimes they’re strong, other times calm. Given these conditions, would your recommendations in the video still be the best, or should I adjust anything?
I’m glad you found the video helpful. I would say everything applies to you as well, but you may want to make sure that the length of your rod is longer than a freshwater scenario. If I had to guess I would say a medium to medium fast would be perfect for that scenario.
Great video man. Fishing for panfish and trout on Lake Washington lately and this answered a lot of questions about my rod and line set ups (which were gifts from a friend)

Thanks, and yes, I agree. Sorry about your rod.

Thank You. I plan to start in the Spring of 2025, so this provided so awesome data. Also looking at fly fishing but will be taking classes for that.
I’m glad you found it helpful. Happy fishing in the spring
