  • Scott Holland is currently Emeritus Professor of Theopoetics & Writing at Bethany Theological Seminary in partnership with the Earlham School of Religion in Richmond, Indiana. He divides his time between Richmond, Pittsburgh and his writing studio in Yellow Springs, Ohio. He works internationally building cultures of peace in concert with the World Council of Churches and the Global Anabaptist Peace Network. Holland has pastored both Church of the Brethren and Mennonite congregations in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

    There seems to be repeating here....not sure why....words: institutional - seems to be - movement - renewal of pietism? Do not wish to be judgmental so will not go on critiquing this conversation. My fellowship in church has been where I was carried in 95 yrs ago...oldest church in Pequea Valley (PA) affiliated wit Alliance of Mennonite Evangelical Churches (AMEC). Listening to this conversation would raise a simple question: Is Jesus in any way a part of the thinking here? One might wonder if the Reverend Dr. Holland would ever be blessed by singing: "Jesus loves me this I know...for the Bible tells me so." Not meaning to be judgmental....so, good night.
