THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! Excellent comparison for my needs. Due to wrist issues, I am unable to continue using only my laptop keyboard. I started looking around & found these ergo split keyboards. I appreciate your being so very specific! 😊
just fyi it's really hard to hear the difference between the two keyboards in your test. it would have been much more helpful if you typed only one hand, and then after typed with the other hand. You did sort of do that at the end, but just thought I'd point it out.
im left handed also and was trying to figure out a way to deal with the moonlander --have you gotten the ergodox ? Are the thumb keys and the outside row of key lit? What do you think of your choice? i went to your page but saw no place to leave a message im just getting into computer gaming and wishing there was a left handed central lol
@@dennis4697 I still havent purchased either sadly so i cannot give you any info, i did find a second hand moonlander that i might purchase. If i do then i try answering your questions.
@@redshirt256 thanks ill let you know i may go ahead with the ergodox wish all keys were backlit just also trying to figure out about if i can get a six foot long connector for moonlander i could then move left hand side to drawer
"Here is a sound comparison," he said and started to type on both keyboards simultaneously, making it absolutely impossible to tell one from another Great informative video nonetheless, thank you
I've tried kinesis for a few days, main problem for me was that your hands have to be parallel in order to reach thumb clusters, and if you have wider shoulders it gets a bit awkward. Is this a problem for you? Would love to see the comparison video with kinesis vs moonlander!
My shoulders are about 18 inches wide, and I have no trouble using the kinesis. It's actually very comfortable for me. I personally feel like your hands don't have to be exactly parallel. It's designed so that there can be a slight angle. I will work on the review! Anything in particular you would like to see?
I much prefer the Advantage2, the 3-dimensionality of the "wells" where your hand goes into makes it much more ergonomic. Typing is just less straining with the Advantage2. Of course both are much better than "normal" qwerty keyboards
I've been waiting for ergo keyboard to challenge the microsoft 4000 layout and have mechanical linear keys. I'm sad to say money wise, I'm going to dish out for the kinesi as it's super expensive. still much respect for your review, as they are far and few in the "vs" world and a person knowing what he/she is talking about.
Wrist positions is the main one, iirc there are like 3 different types of wrist strain that having a split keyboard alleviates. But one thing I like about having a split keyboard is I actually put an Apple Magic Trackpad in the middle, so that I can have those touch controls.
Speaking as someone with several decades of typing and physical therapy for shoulders as a result, you can also end up with shoulder issues that appear superficially to present as wrist issues. I have wide enough shoulders that it makes a meaningful difference to have the halves farther apart, not even counting the wrist angles.
I’ve seen so many reviews for this keyboard in the last few days that I’m convince I’m just going to buy it. My wife will probably kill me but that’s why I will request it for my b-day
I love split keyboards but I would never buy another ZSA. The build quality is too poor for such an expensive keyboard. The plastic on the thumb module on the moonlander has a known issue where it breaks. ZSA claim they support the right to repair but they won't repair the keyboard or even sell me spare parts. I think the moonlander is too old and they are dropping support and want people to just buy their latest rather than repair their old keyboards but I have only had the moonlander for a year.
Thanks. Now I'm even more confused which one I should buy.
IMNSHO none of them, try the ADM42, all the keys are easy to reach
@@LorenzoLeonini1 I've bought moonlander. I'm happy with it.

Loved our review! Thank you!
Solid review, Thank you
thank you for this video, you showed that the right side is independent on the ergodox, that makes it perfect for me as a left handed gamer

I am considering getting one of these because my Kinesis Advantage 2 is too high for me. If I could lower it, it might be more comfortable.
Yep, the Kinesis Advantage 2 is indeed a very thicc boi
Thanks for uploading this , but which one of these has the shortest distance for thumb travel from the homerow keys?

P.s. still going to keep my corsair k68 for gaming
What are the advantages of having a split keyboard besids having better wrist positions?

which one would you pick out of the two for big+ hands? if that plays a role at all...
Would probably pick the moonlander for the additional adjustability
wonder if the tenting kit for the sol 3 would work on the moonlander
Thank you!
Great video. Next time if you could improve the lighting a bit.
Thanks for the advice! I definitely have a better setup for my next keyboard reviews, stay tuned!
Would you consider selling either Ergodox keyboard?
Yeah, let me know if you would like to buy the Moonlander! I haven’t used it that much as I like my Kinesis more
