Tom Clarkson was by far the number 1 Waterloo Road Teacher and I wish he made it through the last series of Waterloo Road and he has helped so many pupils change their paths along the way and no one can replace him at all. 😞
‘You’re wasting your time trying to teach him Spanish miss. He barely speaks English, he just grunts.’ Gotta love Finn Sharkey! Such a great insult! 😂😂
I really liked Finn because he was definitely the funniest student at Waterloo road especially when causing mischief towards teachers and other students.
Definitely the best English teacher at Waterloo road and I wish that he was my teacher because I would definitely have enjoyed going to English lessons to be honest with you.
Tom was Waterloo Road's alpha male. If a new female member of staff started at the school you just knew Tom would be hanging out the back of it five minutes later.
Every episode that has a fight scene i see only tom breaking it up like toms not the only teacher there im pretty sure toms also the only brave and strong teacher in waterloo road
I was just watching Corrie clips and the broad accent of Kylie and Gemma reminded me of the early days of Waterloo Road. It was better in England before they started filming in Scotland with Scottish actors.
The writers missed a trick by not making Tom king of the criminal underworld. What if Maxine's step father, who was abusing all those young girls in the 2nd series was not actually working alone, but was receiving information through a chain of command about all the girls he was supposed to attack. Tom had access to where these girls lived, had a rough idea of their most likely routes too and from School, knew the best places to carry out an attack. Tom would pass down through a chain of command who to attack and where to attack them and they would pass back up through the chain of command footage of the attacks and Tom would profiteer and sell this footage off for large amounts of money. He planned the attack on Stacey as her behavior was causing accusations to be made about him which were too close too home and whilst untrue, in a sense, Police looking into him would only cause them to connect the dots to his involvement with the attacks. He needed her as far away from the school to continue his business without arousing suspicion and the trauma of an attack would certainly do that. During Tom's weekend country Holiday with Izzy and Lorna Tom in his drunk state was not quite as careful as he usually was confiding in Lorna, whilst Izzy was out the room, about all the terrible, evil things he had done and that it should be him not her with the terrible life threatening illness. Lorna tried to push him for answers of what he had done which was so bad too which Tom replied "things which should not be spoken about let alone done" Tom instantly knew he had said too much and made a joke saying he was one who was nicking her beer during their college days and not her best friend and that he could not live with his actions. Lorna awkwardly laughed but with the timid tone of the forced laugh he knew he had said too much. She was highly intelligent women and whilst she may not have worked it out at that point she would not let it go and would not rest until she found out the truth of the evil Tom spoke about. At that point he knew he needed to kill her and later that night 20 minutes after Lorna had gone to bed and he was alone with Izzy he told a very drunk Izzy that he was going to the toilet and he went into Lorna's bedroom to find a still alive drunk Lorna sleeping. Looked through her handbag, found her pills, crushed them up and put them into water and then forced it down Lorna's throat. Then quickly wrote a sucide note, cut the phone wires and went back down to Izzy. Why do you think when Izzy first mentioned her fears that Lorna had intended to kill herself Tom downplayed those worries - the truth is because he was worried she would still be alive. After Lorna's murder Tom's hunger for crime only increased. In his sick mind he felt the only way to justify Lorna's murder was too expand his criminal empire even further and brought in an old drug dealing associate of his Jed Seddon. With the help of a few corrupt police officer friends of Tom's, Jed's nephew Lewis had his asbo lifted and they were ready to begin a major drugs operation at the school. With Tom's knowledge of the students and who would be susceptible to experimenting with drugs there was no limitations to what they could achieve. In fact it was Tom's idea to introduce a healthy eating policy at the school so more children would go to the burger van and get hooked on drugs. When Lewis grassed on his Uncle, Tom managed to inform Jed just in time of what Jack now knew. In fact it was Tom who managed to pull the strings to get Lewis a job in the kitchen as he could not trust Lewis and needed to keep a close eye on him in case Jed ever told him that Tom was the mastermind of the operation. In the final scene of series 2 Tom Committed his most heinous devious crime throughout the whole series. Izzy had kept Lorna's final letter and whilst Tom had tried to persuade her to get rid of it Izzy said it was the last thing she had of Lorna. On the night that Izzy met her end she was working late to finish some marking which had been building up. Over the past few weeks Izzy had been carrying some of Lorna's letters which she had received from her over the years to feel close to Lorna. Despondent, depressed and tired of marking Izzy looked over her late friends letters to bring her comfort however the more she looked at the differences between Lorna's early letters and her final letter she could tell the final letter was clearly different. Her language, sentence structure and tone and most importantly hand-writing were different to the final letter. Then Izzy looks at some of the essays she had co-marked with Tom's notes all over them. Suddenly she puts the co-marked essays side by side with the final letter and she finally realises what Tom did. Slowly reaching down into her pocket with tears streaming down her face she lifts the phone to her ear and whispers I know what you did too Lorna. Tom tries to wriggle out of it "saying you don't know what Lorna was like, she tried to ruin us time after time, just meet me outside the school gates at 10 past 9 and I will explain everything" Then Tom phones Jack and says there is something I need to urgently talk you about and it's not something I can say over the phone. Meet me outside the school gates at 5 past 9. Then Tom phones Jed Seddon telling him he owes him a favor. Telling him to meet Jack outside the school at around 5 past 9, and too instigate a fight with Jack and then when Issy appears pull out a knife. If she trys to run away stab Jack and then go after her and stab her too make it look like you were just trying to keep her quiet over your attack on Jack. If she runs over you know what to do, kill her and make it look like you made a hasty mistake after you panicked in the heat of the moment. Tom finishes by saying the most important thing is that Jack looks like the intended target not Issy so their is no way of it coming back to me. Would be a great intriguing story in my opinion which would have gripped viewers.
