It’s great seeing the breeding projects it’s really inspiring me so I have purchased a jungle fowl game mix cockerel and I am running him with some old English game cross American game hens so I’m going to see what these turn out like I’m really hoping to free roam them, got my first batch of 9 hatched under one of the hens and so far they are looking great! Thanks for these videos I can’t get enough of them!!!😄
Im currently working on a game Rhode island red bantam cross. Trying to make a brown egg laying improved Rhode island red. Thanks Mr. Bullfrog you have inspired me to undertake this journey. So far half of my rir bantams died but the other half seem to have good survival instincts. As for the game I have one round head butcher rooster and 5 unknown game hens. So far none of the games have died. Hopefully the hybrids will have the genetics to achieve the goals I'm after.
I like the idea of the teacup bantams. I like a small but sleek built chicken like the old breeds. When you finish your line I would like to buy some hatching eggs
I am excited about them too. Right now it seems like they're going to weigh in about the size of a Dutch bantam, but with the longer legs and trimmer body. I have a teacup bantam pullet sitting on a dozen teacup eggs.
@@Florida_Bullfrog Please do post information when those hatching eggs are ready. I very much love the idea of a survival chicken. Less feed and material used for building coupes. They take care of you and they take care of themselves vs the other way around for inefficient meat/egg conversions to cash when cash is getting more and more useless over time. Brilliant. When dollar signs got in the way, modern society forgot that meat and eggs can be paid for with just a little sweat, thought, and love.
That’s really neat , I want to get into breeding bantams . First I need to figure out how my free range setup , should I make them a “safety zone “ fence around their coop ?
I have two. One is a generic Amazon incubator I couldn't recommend. The other is a Nurtureright 360 from Tractor Supply. I like it. The automatic turner did die on me but I can still make them turn on command by pushing a couple of buttons on the top of the unit. The unit gave me 2 good years of use before that turner problem arose. I think the control board got wet.
Hey let me know if any of your t-cup game bantams are ever available, I’ve got my own similar line I’ve been working on the Agbs are doing pretty good I had a pair make it to maturity
I've sold a few dozen this year off of them but they've been about the only eggs I've let off the farm. I got several more growing up and ought to have a robust flock of them by next year.
I haven't sold them since the fall. Late winter they started laying good and I hatched several for myself. Just a week ago my brood cock Number 1 was wounded by a predator and is recovering. If he survives I will have to test his fertility before I sell any. The wound and infection is near his reproductive tract. If he dies I can send for his father and he also has some sons growing up free range.
I am not from the U.S. but this term Stag for roosters is new to me. I always knew the males as cocks and cockerels or roosters. Is this a recent word to describe them? Just curious
No, I believe it goes back centuries in the UK. There are gamefowl books from Britain referencing the term as far back as the 1800s. Try a search of “gamefowl stag” in Google Books and you’ll see it come up a lot in old publications. The term is unique to gamefowl cockerels and generally isn’t applied to non-gamefowl cockerels.
Haha she's protecting those babies well.

Cracking me up, you didn't even flinch. Straight country boy right there, lol.
I flinched once at the end of that segment. She pinched me good and it made me laugh.
I love seeing your breeding results. It's something not a lot of people would spend time on. You're doing quite well. Congratulations!
Thank you so much!
Appreciate the update. Cant believe I've been with your content for over a year already. Covid has been weird

Do you still sell Florida cracker game eggs on Ebay? I'm interested in some. Thanks.

Would be wonderful.
Hope he recovers fully sorry to hear that.

@@Florida_Bullfrog Thanks
He where can I get some of these from you?
I sell them on Ebay from time to time. I haven' posted any in 2022 yet.
How do i contact you for purchase
I don't offer them at the time.
Do you have any cracker eggs for sale?
Not at this time. They’re laying well but I’m saving them for myself for a bit. I may offer some middle or end of the month.
