There is so little information about the Vikings, it is good to see more discoveries. I just hope funding supports sustained investigation.

The Wends moved to Serbin, Texas, South of Austin, Texas. Some moved deeper into the Lausitzt in Germany by the border with Poland and The Czech Republic. Towns Batzen, Cottbus, Berlin and Dresden started out as Wendish cities before conquest or conversion by Christian crusaders.

Charlemagne, the butcher and oathbreaker, slaughtered 1000 Saxons in the river at Irminsul naked, being baptised.
The Saxons sought sanctuary amongst the Jutes of Jutland. An Allthing was called, in which it was concluded correctly, that Charlemagne had fallen into a foreign cult. It was decided that they would employ the Vikings to attack the Abrahamists in their centers and This is what sparked off the Viking raids.
We Saxons, people of Our Freya, remain indebted.

I have also speculated about why they began to attack monasteries, especially Lindesfarne, which were the holiest place for Christianity in northern Europe. That is why I made the video "The Viking Age Began Because of Heathen Resistance". When the people in Scandinavia heard about what had happened to the Saxons in Verden at the river Aller, they must have thought about resistance against the Franks.

There is evidence of Viking raids in the Baltic before Charlemagne? And almost 150 years before Lindisfarne.

i'd bet we'd find ship moorings, and docks right where the river bends. interesting rectangular long building shape just north of the civilian side of the fort. it could be seen as a fortifide town. water access, trees, good farm land. fire arrows set wood alight even on a 18 ft. parapet. from outer space we can see all along the river by the fort the bank is much steeper which indicates man altered for defence. i'm sure there is a wealth of knowledge under the ground. isn't this a lesson, how mother nature takes it all back. how all that seems important today in the end does not exist. only mother nature. thank yew skjalden. take care
