    Most definitely ! We did play once under moderate rain and it was a blast. You can't hear anything but the rain. Changes the whole game experience. Also we didn't suffer any damages on the replicas (though I can only advise to use GBBs & shotguns just to make sure nothing goes wrong regarding electrical parts)/

    1) See what damage acrylic BBs can do. Example, can they shatter a car's windshield?
    2) What is the best way to destroy your GBB mags?
    3) Do springs compressed for long periods of time (days) lose tension? Recoil springs, mag springs? If so, how will it affect the function of the gun (especially a GBB)?
    4) Can you convert a Thunder B into a Tornado grenade?

    It's more like wanting to be versatile. A buddy of mine were in a large field playing Paintball in the woods (I know, paintball's different), we wanted to sneak across the river and steal the flag right out from under them. We managed to do it but for Airsoft games we couldn't even think about it. It's kind of for those guys who want to add a bit of versatility to their strategy in a game. Works too, they'll never see you coming.

    Nine times out of ten, an AEG works fine playing in the rain, and the receiver and stock does a fine job of keeping water out of the important electrical areas of the gun.
    I live in Florida, during the Summer, we play during the rain all of the time.
    Your biggest problems from playing in the rain are going to come from optics, or lasers/lights on your gun.

  • @xsaberdeck
    @xsaberdeck 11 років тому

    Gas Vs. Electric, one major thing to remember is that you will need to refill your magazines every mag or two, and they will not perform in the colder weather. CO2 Vs. Green gas, CO2 generally runs at much much higher fps, and many guns will break under the extra pressure, also need to note that CO2 has no lubricant, where green gas does (easily cured with some silicon oil), and so far as I know of, none use 88 gram cartridges, most use 12g, though some use external sources of compressed air.

    Awesome video. seriously! and matts face at 3:46 LOL btw that it is totally dangerous (trying an AEG under water) because if there is an electric shock, everything that is wet and under water, gets the shock and even can cause death.
    MATT YOU ARE AWESOME MAN! thanks for the video and keep us update with the AEG M4... did it work after all that?

  • @BerzerkBullet
    @BerzerkBullet 11 років тому

    Since you're just starting I suggest an AEG.AEGs are much more easier to maintain,less things to worry about,and there's alot more options you can choose if you're under a certain budget.GBBs are pretty expensive,and since you're starting I don't think you'd want to pay +$300 for the rifle,and possibly $100-$200 more dollars for extra mags.Also you got to know how to properly clean,and lubriacte the gun,or it'll not perform as well as it should be.

  • @BornofIron
    @BornofIron 11 років тому

    this it to show that if in the event an airsoft gun was wet for any reason ie: fell in a puddle, rain got into it, or for any reason did it as drastically as they did (fully submerged) your gun will still be in working condition. Regardless they did offer what to do after an airsoft gun is wet which is to let the internals dry off and be lubed. Even then it is still dangerous for anyone to do something as drastic, and also could mean a broken gun either way. It was an experiment to prove a point

    The gas blowbacks performed as I would have expected to be honest. And as for the AEG, surprised it still worked as it did. Although I have used AEG's in the rain (I'm from britain, rain is unavoidable) with no damage to my AEG. Really the biggest danger with this is rust. Even if your gun is plastic/nylon fibre, the screws will rust so drying off is important.

  • @Zero6421

  • @AlexMckillmore
    @AlexMckillmore 11 років тому

    Actually, even if whilst wet the electrics spaz out. They should be fine once everything is thoroughly dried out. Unless it's salt water. You're spot on about the GBB guns though. There is no reason for them not to work perfectly well whilst wet.

  • @the7thAceofSpades
    @the7thAceofSpades 11 років тому

    yes, it can be done but not at near the level in that movie. That amount of curve for such a short distance is pretty much impossible for any projectile because of the loss of momentum due to physics. (I'm talking about where the curve is over 90 degrees) You can however curve the projectile by a small amount. This is what hop-up does and if done right a curve up can work in the same way as a curve to the right of left. Hope that helps :)

  • @HockeyGunsKnives

    It depends on you're price limits for $250 and under, AEG I would recommend a WE-Tech M4 AEG. $250 and above GBB which would be KWA, G&P or WE. The AEGs are cheaper and they only need Batteries and BBs and mags are like $9 each. GBBRs need gas, which is expensive, and BBs and for some rifles mags are $50-$60. I would get an AEG with a battery, a SMART CHARGER, 4 or 5 mags and 5000-10000 BBs. Evike brand BBs are really good and its like $13 for 5000 which work great in both AEG and GBBR.Have Fun

    how about testing to see if there is a type of gas that will damage a GBB airsoft pistol or rifle, OR if you should not operate a GBB above a certain tempreture?

  • @tiger2elite
    @tiger2elite 11 років тому

    Well for the super hard core airsofter this might actually be good to know... If, for whatever reason, you should have to wade through a swamp or maybe your friend "accidentally" drops you best gun in a frickin lake (yes this has happened to me), at least you can refrain from punching your "friend" in the face until after you've tested the gun. I know gbb's are temperamental, but I still love them. I will be burried with a marushin m1 carbine and an m1911 GBB. :D thanks Evike! always interesting

  • @reeyuh526
    @reeyuh526 11 років тому

    Green gas is just propane with lubricant so the only difference is that you would have to lubricate your pistol more often when using propane since it doesn't have lubricant mixed in with it already. Assuming you mean equivalent as in more fps with one or the other, I wouldn't know, but from what I've read on forums it seems that propane is higher pressure, possibly because its purely gas as opposed to green gas being a gas with liquid in it.

  • @hunterjackson4539

    I have played with my spring rifle in the rain. I don't think it would rust or mess up because it's plastic, and it ain't electric. There's a scene from a movie where Navy SEALs are in a river, and they are walking because it isn't that deep, but they can crouch down concealing themselves and I've always wanted to do that. I don't have a real rifle, but from watching this video, it seems that Gas Blowback airsoft rifles work underwater, or at least when they are wet.

  • @Quadmachine0
    @Quadmachine0 11 років тому

    Yes, there was an M-4 gas blowback rifle that supposedly could have the airsoft upper reciever removed and replaced by a real ar-15 upper to make a "Fully Functioning Automatic Weapon", because the internals on the lower reciever were very close to a real weapon's firing mechanism.. While I don't think anybody's ever been foolish enough to try that, they still took the weapon off the market.

  • @shmelushka

    For gas guns in cold weather just use an external gas source with a regulator. That will take away any inconsistencies and it will prevent the cold air from having an effect on the performance of the gun.

    @Harry Hathaway I haven't heard of an 88 gram CO2 cartridge, sorry. AEGs are usually much more affordable(but can still be expensive) and they use batteries, motors, etc. While GBBs use gas to propel the bbs. GBBs are much higher maintenance and have much less magazine capacity, but they look much more realistic.
