Always good to have options at different price points. There is something to be said about making a knife (or anything) your own. Happy Labour Day weekend.
The Puukko is definitely one of my favorite knife designs. I can't remember if I mentioned this, but the closest to a Puukko is my Cold Steel finn bear. I would prefer to stick to the traditional Puukko blade krind. ✌️🇨🇦🇺🇸✌️
I have the expendable and the ultra outdoor, both great knives, the grind put me off this one to be honest, £35 in the UK so cheap enough but for £5 less you can get the mora kansbol which I think is a better option.
G'day Mark, did you get my comment your end ? it's dissapeared my end, even though it was saved. The gist was, as a "Puukko", yep sort the edge out for carving and it'd be a winner, ..... especially for the dough. Cheers Duke.
at the top of the knife, end of the hilt near the knife, is that just the metal edge coming out because they lowered the hilt there? seems uncomfortable to me.
A good looking knife there and a pretty good price. Thanks for sharing Mark.
It is a good value even with its shortcomings . Thanks for commenting Steve

I have only made two knives from scratch. Turned out okay and very rewarding. Thanks for commenting

I have looked at the CS Finn Bear a few times. It is more of a modern puukku than this one is. Thanks for commenting

The proper Scandi grind would greatly improve this knife for sure. Thanks for commenting
Great deal for a knife, despite any shortcomings. If I didn’t already have a half dozen, I’d buy it for sure.
What? Only a half-dozen? Oh man, I have my work cut for me LOL. Thanks for commenting Jim
I really like that design. I just got the BPS Aura same type of design but N690 steel.
I like the look of the BPS Aura. I may get one myself. Thanks for commenting

Hi Duke. No, this is the first comment from you on this video. Yes, I may reprofile the edge and see what that does for it. Thanks for commenting

There is a very tiny guard there. Not uncomfortable but not required either. Easy to grind off. Thanks for commenting
@@MarkYoungBushcraft Any time! 👍
Maybe regrind the edge to a convex?
Yes, would likely help and easy enough to do. Thanks for commenting
The new BPS Finn Lite is another full tang “modern” puuko. And cheap! Mark, if you can get your hands on one, it would be great to have a review.
A bit worried on this one. its fine for someones vehicle survival kit bag. to me, not an e.d.c.
