    • @cantstop-wontstop2138
      @cantstop-wontstop2138 7 місяців тому +2

      @Spencerlayne
      So in the UK, if they stay in jail prior to trial- what happens if you are found not guilty?
      Do they pay you for all that time of being jailed and wrongfully incarcerated?
      If so, how much?
      How do you justify taking away someone's freedom that may not have committed the crime?

    • @Spencerlayne
      @Spencerlayne 7 місяців тому

      @@cantstop-wontstop2138 we have what's called the crown prosecution service. And they will tell the police if there is enough evidence to charge them. And if the evidence is overwhelming, then they will be remanded into custody. A lawyer/solicitor can make an argument at the next court hearing to be released. But yh if some one has been murdered and there's CCTV and dozens of witnesses you won't be getting out of jail until it goes to trial.
      There has been cases where people have been found to be innocent and let out before or even after conviction. And it would depend on whether the evidence suggested they had reasonable grounds to hold you.
      For example a reporter was killed some time ago and it turned out to be a foreign soldier who did it because of ana attack NATO had done. A man had been convicted of it. But because he had been done for rape and stalking as well as stalking and abusing his wife. And was caught in possession of a gun the court deemed it reasonable.
      But in other cases you get about 250 pound for ever day you are in there or if you are in there for over your release date.
      In regards to justifying freedom. I can't justify it. I can only hope that the people locking people up have enough evidence to hold that person.
      Just in the UK even if the evidence was stacked up against you. We wouldnt set a bind at 2 million pounds knowing they can't afford it. It's just not on the table. Murder and rape is taken seriously in this country. It's a hold you and if you are innocent then sorry. Sad. But it works.
      We don't have people out on bail for murder committing other murders because they get no bins to begin with. Some people have and will suffer, but lives are saved.

    • @annamarielewis7078
      @annamarielewis7078 6 місяців тому

      Not true. They can’t even hold them for more than 24 hours if the court doesn’t approve it. They may not have to post money, but they do get out.

    • @Spencerlayne
      @Spencerlayne 6 місяців тому

      @@annamarielewis7078 that's not true man. If you are suspected of murder and there is reasonable suspicion you committed it you are getting remanded. Trust me. If course not everyone will do. But I'm talking about in America where they set a bind at 500,000 or even a million. It doesn't happen in the UK.

But they've been letting this guy out on bond since well before 2020. This isn't some new phenomena at all; judges have been doing this for decades.

    Different jurisdictions often have no idea what cases the perp has pending. Many jails will run an outstanding warrant check before releasing, but if no warrants are outstanding they will release the perp once the sentence is served. The fact that he was in prison while on bond was clearly a violation of terms of the original bond.The court for the murder case failed to notify the jail that the perp needed to be remanded to their jurisdiction upon completion of his sentence. A clerical oversight that led to another murder.

    Take the power out of the judge's hands right now. If you have a murder charge no bond and you will have to wait until your trial is over to be found guilty or not guilty.

    Good thing some states and counties don’t allow you to get bond for killing someone. But clearly that’s not the case in other places. Dam why keep giving him a chance especially for killing women.
