The manual says to use 2-point "if you must calibrate with the transmitter in the ground", so sounds like that's only if something happened to the receiver, like maybe you received a loaner mid-drill. Also says 1-point method is preferred; I think it's also what they use at the factory. Manual says 2-point "should only be used with caution" and is "rarely needed", and it's 8 steps instead of 5 for 1-point. I'd stick with 1-point :-).
