    When you remove the buds from the case, they start with both ANC and transparency off. To return to normal mode, put them back in the case and repair them.

    Hi Sozen, great review as always! I'm glad you got a chance to check these out because I've been really impressed with the NC2s. I think they are the best earbuds TOZO has put out to date. That bass is thumping and once you apply an EQ to them, you can get a really nice overall soundstage out of these. I knew these got loud but 104db? Wow! As for the ANC/Ambient on/off modes, someone mentioned on your review of the NC7s that if you manually power the earbuds while out of the case, you have effectively engaged ANC off mode. Once you put them back in the case then remove them again, they remain in ANC off mode until you engage ANC on/Ambien modes again. I know it's clumsy but that does seem to work. Thanks again for a really nice review! Best Regards!

      Hi DZMJ - yes, you really have to put them back into the case and take them out again. The long press doesn't work in my experience (i can't turn them back on, even after 20+ seconds touching the MFB - which is ridiculous anyways.) I don't find it to be much of an issue on these, the sound quality is affected as much, imo, as on the NC7's.

      @@SoZenGadgets Yes, I agree with you there. I don't understand why TOZO just doesn't take the time to include an ANC off function. If this feature was on available on this pair in particular, they would sell more of the NC2s for sure. I think they are the best earbud TOZO has produced so far. Best Regards

    The bass of this is super magnificent when put on ANC mode.
    Hifi on transparency and surround sound on ANC . Use jabra eartip style because it’s more occlusive. Or use the flat top eartip of NC7 and it’s going to be more wonderful.
    Jabra eartips are flat on the top and short length wise. They are the best if you want to harness bass or occlusion.

    I think you may have understated the wind noise issue. With ANC on or off the slightest breeze sounds like a hurricane inside the earbuds. They sound great indoors, but a jog or bike ride is just out of the question. I'm sending them back.

      out of curiosity, what buds do you use while running? I still use the MPow Flame Lite & Solo - but both suffer from wind noise while running. I don't mind because I like the awareness of hearing traffic at the same time and also not hearing my footsteps pounding the pavement.

  • @gregs5738
    @gregs5738 3 роки тому

    Excellent review. I bought a pair and really like them. Regarding your comment about not being able to use them in "off" mode, for my NC2 earbuds, they are always in the off mode when I take them out of the case, but can still stream music, etc. Tapping the left earbud once puts them in ambient mode and tapping again puts them in ANC mode. Subsequent taps then just cycle between ambient and ANC modes. Once you put them in one of those two modes, you are correct that they cannot be put back into "off" mode until you put them in the case and take them out again. Personally, I don't like this feature. I wish they would come out of the case in whatever mode you last had them in, such as with my Airpods Pro, but I am willing to live with it, as the performance is excellent. I create audiograms of many earbuds and exam 11 frequencies of noise and these earbuds are outstanding, especially at frequencies below 1000 Hz. Love your channel.

    • @SoZenGadgets
      @SoZenGadgets  3 роки тому +1

      Totally agree on wishing they'd add an "off" mode other than when first out the case. But I'd like to see how you measure that audiogram too!?

    • @gregs5738
      @gregs5738 3 роки тому

      SoZen, use the following website, which is an excellent source for performing an in-home audiogram. Find a quiet place and calibrate the sound like it instructs you to do and you will find the results match very closely what you will get from a professional audiogram. It makes an excellent comparative tool, also. If you scroll down in the website, you will see selections for "Alt low" and "Alt high" frequencies. By selecting each of these, it adds additional frequencies to the audiogram measurements, for a total of 11 frequencies.
      hearingtest.online/hearingTest.php?s=nB_250_25nB_375_25nB_500_40nB_750_40nB_1000_30nB_1500_40nB_2000_35nB_3000_40nB_4000_40nB_6000_30nB_8000_60

    • @gregs5738
      @gregs5738 3 роки тому

      In addition to what I wrote below about the audiogram website, you can also check you natural hearing against a particular set of earbuds and determine exactly how many decibels the earbuds are reducing at each frequency.

    • @SoZenGadgets
      @SoZenGadgets  3 роки тому

      @@gregs5738 thanks Greg! I'll check it out. All of my anc impressions are based on measurements across the audio spectrum from 100hz, at 100hz intervals until 1000hz, then I jump to 1000hz intervals because anc doesn't do much above 1000 hz, only passive isolation. You can see my measurements chart in this video. ua-cam.com/video/l15ydepWPiU/v-deo.html

      I have both and like them both the NC-7 has more accurate and crisp sound with perhaps a slight emphasis on treble to maintain the overall clarity with out being sibilant and still have accurate bass that is tight and fast not overly boosted with instruments and vocal clearly being the priority is with a good sound stage.
      The NC-2 as Sozen says here really are bass powerhouse yet surprisingly not muddying up the mids or highs, as although the bass is strong it does not overpower the mids and highs so the treble is just elevated enough to make the sound more pleasing and with the mids not being ressesed the overall result is a very plesant and fun sound perhaps not as clinical as NC-7 that focuses more in clarity and accuracty.
      The ANC both on NC-7 and NC-2 are equally good not Apple Airpod or Sony XM-3 level quality but still very good and quite noticeable in the NC-2 ANC broad range that comes across noticeably stronger.
      The only nag I have on NC-7 is the high pitch feed back noise they make sometimes when they are taken out or put batch on the case, not a deal breaker for me more like annoyance.
      Last, both the NC-7 and NC-2 support wireless charging NC-2 so as far as the wireless charging your are set no matter which one you pick.
      Which one to choose is purely based on your particular sound signature pregerence, Clinical or Overall fun and if the broad ANC frequency range is what you are after in which case the NC-2 would be the better one of the two.

      Tozo nc2 or boltune elite. Honestly I've spent the past 3 days scouring all over reddit, forums and YT and it has come to these 2. For me I wanted good sound with good anc and good fit for the gym and these seem to tick all the boxes. The ANC obv will not be as good as the 200 dollar buds but I don't want to spend 200 dollars for anc that is at best a little better that the hybrid anc these have.
      The ambient mode on nc2 is louder and better than the boltune, Apollo and t2 if that's important to you. For me it is because taking out your buds all the time because of crappy ambient modes is annoying, with good transparency mode you won't have to.
      Only peeve with nc2 is not being able to turn anc or transparent mode off and having to put it back in the case to reset it. This isn't an issue for me because knowing it has good ambient mode I plant to always leave it in this mode or anc anyway.
