  • Mark 10:46 - 52, What Do You See?
In Jeremiah 1, God asks his prophet, “What do you see?” This interesting question reflects a spiritual truth that though God sees all, we do not. Even when we do see things clearly, we often have selective vision. We see just what we want to see and not necessarily what is. Perhaps we are all guilty of putting on our rose-colored glasses.
In the seven verses of the narrative of Jesus and Blind Bartimaeus, the reader is left to question. “Is this just another example of the all-powerful Jesus pitying a blind man?” Isn’t the story of Blind Bartimaeus’s healing just another instance where Jesus does what Jesus does best?
Maybe these seven verses represent much more than just another miracle of Jesus. If we allow these verses to illuminate our spirits, we’ll discover we are all blind beggars sitting by the way in need of healing and restoration.
Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” A pointed question in that the beggar might have asked for many different things, money or food. But instead of asking for a handout, in faith, he asked Jesus to heal and restore him completely. Please listen in to this Sunday sermon as we explore the question, “What do you see?”‪@unionchargeumcs1887‬
