this whole system with quirks is so clever for getting you to really care about this car, since it requires you to pay close attention to what's going on
For quirks, I had 3 so far. When I turned the steering wheel, headlights dimmed, when I turned on wipers, my Gas gauge started moving in sync with them and later the car honked every time I closed a trunk. 😁 But I guess they will get more serious later

The gameplay loop is like candy-coated crack, obviously, but I wasn't expecting the writing to be so good? It's funny and dark and scary and sad, and there's so much more going on than I thought. What a game. (And I'm loving your playthrough, Welonz! P.S. Leaving your headlights on is what's constantly draining your battery ❤)
As someone who's played a lot of The Long Dark, I've gotten conditioned to think of flares as impromptu light sources. I guess this is the game that finally conditioned Welonz to think of them in that LIGHT.
Wow, so close to seeing the back door of that Box Truck, containing some of the best loot in the early game, nearly always a sweet Dumpster Pearl, and loads of paints/decals. I seriously hope Welonz discovers the huge trucks have back doors that are searchable, like the trunks of cars.
Excess battery drain could be a side effect of any quirk with the car to force the player to deal with the problem. Some RL car manufacturers would turn off the AC if there is a problem with the ABS because they know people will ignore the ABS light on the dash but rush in to get a broken AC fixed. This game reminds me of STALKER without enemies but in a car.
It can also be a side effect of Welonz constantly leaving the lights on 24/7, and even the windshield wipers and other battery draining electronics on the car.
I think you can pause time during the log readings in the settings. Might be worth looking into to have time for the lore bits without stressing out :)
Welonz how are you so good at video games. It’s unbelievable the speed and gameplay you always have for us. 😅 I struggle trying to get through one game without forgetting and moving on
There should be reflective tape on the garage door that says "If you can read this turn your headlights off"
