Pretty good install process. To be honest I was paying more attention to the camera view swaps. Changing camera views without missing an audio beat, impressive!
This is better than Boondox, at least pressure distributed along track. Been working on my version using a support through the scupper holes holding weight from bottom. A lot of torque on that plastic...
Now that you have had a chance to use the P127 how does it compare with the Old Town Autopilot 120 or Hobie in terms of quality and stability? I know you can't really compare it to the Autopilot in terms of fishability because of it's unique platform but then the P127 is half the price.
Mark, I used to have boonedox landing gear on my PDL 120. I have the autopilot 120 now, and I miss the convenience of landing gear. I have the wilderness systems cart but it’s kind of a pain at the boat ramp. Any recommendations? Should I slap the landing gear on the AP120?
As long as you’re using boat ramps the wheels are convenient. It’s impractical to do an off-road launch by yourself. If you have a buddy then someone can hold the kayak up while the other person removes the wheels. I wasn’t so lucky when trying to launch in a muddy creek by myself.
uh....2 x 2 screws....tiny little metal tabs in a "plastic?" track....a lotta faith in very little....I think I'll pass... you did a great one handed install BTW...
Excellent video
Thanks for the visit.
this one was actually easier too follow than the bonafide one. i was trying to figure out why it would slide around.
Tanks for your time and your videos

I wish Old Town Kayak would get on the Landing Gear Boat!
So 4 little screws hold the weight of the kayak?
Screw with Confidence! lol

It feels more stable than the Outback but a tad less than the Autopilot.
Bien 👍

If you keep this boat get rid of those wheels and put C-tug wheels on it. Those tires don't stay aired up and don't last long
Too much weight on just those screws , get a bracket or some kind of backing plate . This won’t last long
