As soon as Kohnshu said "I will release both of you," my first thought was "wait, only two?" And that contractual legalese definitely paid off.
Welcome to bargains with gods. They are very assholish.
I was so mad. They showed the visible three sarcoph...ah, burial thingies (can you tell that english is not my first language) and when he said "release both" I was at least expecting Steven to pipe up. Arghhh!
@@anaiswinter9893 think about how Steven was to some extent in conscious denial about his mother when talking to Dr Harrow, rather than being truly entirely unaware. The system is in active denial about Jake because they've barely gotten a handle on having 2 alters. They will have to confront it eventually but they're avoiding it.
I love that Marc and Steven fail to beat Harrow, and blackout to a victory, and separate themselves from Khonshu, getting exactly what they wanted, but it still feels uneasy. You said it right "Marc and Steven are where Steven was at Episode 1" being manipulated and kept in the dark by Jake and Khonshu instead of Steven kept in the dark by Marc and Khonshu.
That's brilliant
Two fish in the aquarium, in their own little world not knowing what goes around outside it
I didn't catch that goldfish metaphor on the first watching, but you're absolutely right! Two fish in the tank now but unaware of what's happening outside it.
You can go even further.
The fish with the missing fin, is Steven (with a v), who is broken because he is missing parts of his life and knows something is very wrong, but he doesn't have proof and he doesn't know if he is just going insane. At this point, he is not even aware of Marc, but still as much a part of it as Marc and as much trapped in the aquarium. When he finally gets confirmation that puts him on the right track and confirms it to himself that he is not "just" imagining it, the fish is replaced and has two fins.
@@TankInATree Nice, didn't go that deep
The silence at the end - hilarious.
AYO JESSE WHATCHU DOIN HERE???
Hey Jesse! Good to see you checking out the Preview'd boys!
Well this was an crossover I wasn't ready for when I scrolled down!
I didn't feel cheated at aaaaall with the blackout. Felt 100% entirely appropriate, I was laughing in joy so hard, I had to take a break haha
It felt appropriate and it made it pg 13, otherwise the brutal murders would've made it tv MA
Exactly, we only know Marc and Steven so we « blackout » with them too ^^
Plus, Im pretty sure the violence of Jake can not be seen on Disney+ 😅 (for now…)
I disagree, they should stop censoring Jack's actions.
@@Felhek they will in the next MK appearance. The blackout made the post credit more impactful.
The post credit scene was so fucking juicy. At first I didn't think it was Jake wheeling Harrowe away. But the dead nurses, the intentional hiding of the face... I kept asking myself if it's Oscar Isaac. And then the confirmation... God damn, that's how you do a fucking reveal.
As soon as I saw his murder gloves I knew. Then he spoke Spanish and Oscar Isaac is Guatemalan (and I think Cuban), so it clicked even more. But then again I figured he’d be the post-credit scene.
It's was the hat for me, I'm a long time fan of Moon Knight and that hat is iconic to Jake
@@ThePenpachi To be honest, I always thought he was just a white dude, so I was surprised to learn that he's not from the reactions.
@@TheOnlyHawkeye666 I wasn't even paying attention to the hat. I have never read a Moon Knight comic though, so even though I knew he had it, the hat just passed by me entirely.
For me, it was the fact that I was somewhat able to recognize Oscar Isaac's face from angles that you probably wouldn't stop to think "Hey, that's Oscar Isaac," and then it was fucking Oscar Isaac.
And then there was the kicking of the wheelchair. It seemed unnecessarily violent.
It was amazingly subtle. I actually had it in my head that it was the Midnight Man character or someone working for him. Didn't realize until the window rolled down.
In my opinion, I feel this is the first time Marvel actually used a post credit end scene for it’s truest potential. Not for humor or for universe expansion, but to keep the audience on the edge of their seats, begging for more and yelling out “That can’t be the end!” What a fantastic series!!!
The first time? Have you forgotten who Nick Fury is?
@@MikeySkywalker yeah but that nigga is old now lmao, this is a brand new venture and real Moon Knight waited for this dude to show up since episode 1!
@@murk4552 Real Moon Knight?
Except that it doesn't make sense since if marc and steven dies... Then so should have jake . His heart should have been scaled too.
But plot hole. He's not there
@@abdurrehmanmalik1513 He did die. It isn't complicated at all.
The moment between Layla and the little Egyptian girl really made me feel happy and warm inside. I have no Egyptian heritage whatsoever but it still brought me joy to see more representation in different communities, the smile of admiration on that actress’s face is what I imagine young Egyptian girls watching this would feel also.
Honestly, I felt the exact same way. I also chuckled a bit, because I know chuds are probably screeding about it right now.
Big time same. That was my favorite scene of the episode - Layla especially was the highlight.
Same.
as someone who is half egyptian i nearly cried
@@Leadman1989 Oh yeah I knew there would be those “that’s unnecessary” or “it feels forced” type of people but it felt very natural to me
Layla in her fabulous costume: "okay, okay..."
Layla bringing out her metal wings: *drops jaw*
My understanding for Layla in terms of the comics is that they've taken Moon Knight's usual love interest, reworked her into someone VASTLY more interesting, and then combined her with a minascule superhero called Scarlet Scarab from like...the 80s or something. So functionally she's her own new character but has at least hints of some minor Marvel characters. And she's awesome, obviously.
The person that was scarlet scarab in the comics was Abdullah El Foley (possibly butchered spelling) aka: Laylas dad.
Villain originally. They just recycled the name.
Can we just get a “hell yeah!” For a strong female character, who was strong even before her upgrade? I’ll start, in my best Stone Cold Steve Austin voice, “aw Hell Yeah!!!”
@@Wiley_Coyote Not a "villain" per se... just a hero who wasn't originally on the same side of the fight as the main heroes. He was protecting Egypt from outside invasion... that included the "Invaders" which were the hero team at the time.
@@TheLoreSeeker Fair enough.
The dead silence from pure shock for the entirety of the Jake Lockley introduction is exactly how I felt lol
I like how the Moon Knight fantom went "OUR wife" when Layla became Scarlet Scarab
This has absolutely been my favorite Disney+ MCU show from beginning to end (even though I wish the finale was 10-20 minutes longer).
It felt like they sped up a bit much at points. Sometimes it felt a little disjointed
@@GamerGrovyle Yes, exactly. Some moments, while great, needed just a little bit of breathing room.
While I agree with u I do feel the character development was still great for the main character. Maybe a tad bit longer but still a very solid show.
Same!
@@GamerGrovyle I did feel the last episode seemed a bit rushed too.
God this finale was so much fun!! Kaiju Egyptian gods throwing hands by the pyramids, Laylas gorgeous costume, the fight choreography; to quote The Collector “Magnificent! Maaaaggggnificent!”
They waited until the very last minute to show us Jake Lockley and man what a reveal! Bravo!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Can’t wait to see where they go with Moon Knight moving forward
After this "finale", Layla now appears to be an amalgamation of two existing comic characters in Marvel: the Scarlet Scarab, a Captain America-esque defender of Egypt, and Marlene Alraune, Marc's on-and-off again ex-wife in the comics whose story elements were lent to Layla for the show.
My favorite Disney plus show hands down. I love Oscar Isaac in this. Marc going back to save Steven was such a wholesome scene, that speech made me cry. Jake is a savage but I don't think he's evil. I hope to see more of him in season 2. Loved your reaction.
I kind of want an episode 7 called "Jake" where it's just all the times during the series where Mark/Stephen has blacked out and Jake murders a whole bunch of people
"Authorities still searching after the vicious Chainsaw murderer responsible for killing 17 people"
Because it's Disney, they had to get creative with showing how violent Jake is without showing the violence. Tarantino needs to do a Moon Knight movie! 😁
It will be called season 2, think jake will be the bad guy
I *need* a season 2 especially since they finally introduced Jake Lockley
@@mreese1984 Oh yes, please, I want to see that!^^
I love that they made something that Ethan Hawke just happened to add to his character as an important element to the endgame there in the "mental" asylum. Excellent writing.
It shows that Marvel / Disney and all the writers and directors respect their actors. Ethan Hawke came up with that on his own because was invested in the character they offered him, and the production team embraced it and ran with it. They made it such a memorable part of his every appearance when they could have made Arthur Harrow just another disposable villain to hate. Mad Props to Ethan Hawke and the entire team.
Me: Don’t get upset yet guys, wait until the post-credit scene.
22:40 - “Okay, I take it back. That’s awesome.”
Hahaha I know right! That post-credit scene completed the episode. It was the perfect ending to this season, regardless of whether the rest of the episode was a little rushed.
I knew that when Ammit grew, Jay was going to say, “MAKE MY MONSTER GROW!”
Just adding to the many t-shirt slogans: "The treasure was the hammocks we built along the way." 😂
Jay and Adam need to see this LOL
@@jeffquinz2118 Yeah that was one of my favorite things I've ever heard Adam say and Jay's reaction was the best.
I hope if they do a season 2, the first episode is the Jake cut with his origin and all the scenes we missed. If they thought enough ahead to shoot the Jake sequences, or can match the sets and do them well, that would be an incredible season opener.
I personally really like the blackout for Jake's actions. We had just received like 20 minutes of awesome superhero fight scene (which people still somehow complain about in comic book movies/shows), and here we get a psychological moment consistent with the character. If we had seen Jake in that moment, it would have made the reveal in the end credits weightless. You can't just shove everything in all at once. You gotta set your narrative dominos up before they can fall.
Yeah, post-credit scene redeems any issues I had. At first I wanted to see how he takes everyone down but we already got awesome action before that. Ultimately it would just be more of that but more violent, so really, the imagination fills it in just fine.
Agreed. We got plenty of awesome action. I like that Jake's specific actions are still being kept ambiguous for now.
Definitely a season 2. Jake Lockley has finally appeared and Khonshu knew about him. Just waited for the right time to use him.
Jake
Jake appeared in every episode not just the post credit scene.
It's a limited show ,we are not getting season 2
I want more Jake Loco- I mean Lockley
@@L33-v2k fully appeared. Got glimpses. Still you're right.
We saw Jake's work in the Alps, first episode. Steven was awake at that time, unaware of Marc and Jake. Jake took over, handled the situation so the trio didn't die. I just assumed it was Marc. Marc would've knocked them out, not mass murk everyone.
Yeah, it seems like Marc only killed his specific hits Khonshu would give him...because there wasn't THAT many people in the dead body room. And Marc could remember where he was when he killed them by the city name. There would have been many MANY more if that room included the bodies killed by Jake as well.
The ending was pretty interesting even before the after credits scene... Because there were two fish in the tank. It took me a second, but that's when I realized that Marc and Steven are on the same page, but Jake isn't.
I don't know enough comic references to guess at what Jake's costume would look like, but I saw the glimmer of a third costume there... I'm looking forward to it, soooo much.
its probably the black suit from the comics.
shadow knight "the black suit" maybe ?
Maybe the modern suit?
The Midnight Mission run from 2021 had a second “Fist of Justice” who kinda-sorta fought against our Moon Knight. His name was Dr. Badr. His Moon Knight costume had a full moon, instead of a crescent, and in addition to his black and white garb, he also had gold armor accessories. I think that would be amazing to see, even though this show took from a different run all together.
It’s SPKTR, all white with glowing eyes/headlights (which were on during the day), no parking problems and perfect for body disposal.
I think the scene in the asylum is from the moment when Marc went back to save Steven in the sand, and Osiris opened the door for them, the moment they saw the bloody feet of Harrow was the moment they realized the asylum realm is not reality and they got back into their body
Such a great reaction. The stunned, "No. No!" at the ending was perfect.
Jay and Adam Are my favourite rewatch. So emotional and funny.
That Kaiju Battle was icing to an already awesome fight sequence. I also love Layla's costume and how sinister Jake looked.
We do need more Moooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnn Kniiiiiggghhhhht!
I'm not judging this by episodes... I'm judging the entire series as one. This show could've easily been in theaters and would've done well. Phenomenal acting from Oscar Isaac and Excellent writing and directing.🏆
I have to disagree, I don’t feel cheated on not seeing that fight scene
, it just gives much more fear that we have no idea how the fight went and it’s consistent with show.
I disagree.
If they keep censoring Jack's actions, the show will be a total disappointment.
They better change that the next season.
Show me his violence.
@@joegreene7619 also this. If there’s one thing I hate about how Disney treats Marvel, it’s the fact that they keep holding back on the true violence of these characters. And it sucks to see it happen that we don’t witness the true nature of it.
Them not showing Jake's fights was us not seeing Marc's fights at episode 1. I think that's okay because with this they can either end it at Marc and Steven being "at peace" or they can expand and explore Jake and i tegrate him to the other two
@@Felhek bro it’s jakes introduction chill, they’re not censoring all
It also gives it a mystery on what Jake is like. And I feel like that could be explored with another season of future mcu movie projects?
Our real superpower was the dissociative identities we made along the way.
i find it awesome that we blackout like he does in the series and were given a feeling how it might be. and we drop in as the story goes on and don't know what happend between. they played us here too ^^
Yeah, it's not only a tactic to keep the rating down...it's also just how DID works, IRL, when you have high dissociative/amnesia barriers with an alter in a system. None of the systems I've seen watch this show ever feel cheated by the blackout scenes...they are just like "yup, that's accurate. That's a thing that happens." minus the waking up with blood and violence around you, obviously.
8:47
Adam’s mind: “Do you get a cool suit?! Do you get powers?!”
Jay’s mind:
“Do you get a beautiful hippo suit?”
You two's expressions were how I was expressing. This episode was AWESOME, but I needed more, thank you! There seriously needed more episodes in this series.
This was awesome and there's so much more they can do with the world now. From more with Scarlet Scarab and Moon Knight, to doing Hathor/Sekhmet as the Bard version of Banner/Hulk, to teaming him up with Blade and Black Knight to fight werewolves, to... infinite potential.
So the song that's been playing since episode 1 is Jake's song (or at least his genre if not the exact song it was kind of hard to tell) thus implying that Jake's been in the background all along. Maybe he's been watching. Pretty sure that accent showed up at least twice in the pysch ward and given how seamlessly he transitioned it's possible there was some bleed-through, which might explain how Mark knew about the drugs, etc. Ol' Jakie's not an alter to be trifled with and I am hype for it.
Jake has been the most successful at hiding his identity from the other two. He's been able to keep that wall up & therefore is the most powerful one of the bunch. Not to mention he's ruthless.
Marc: “you want them dead? Do it yourself”
Khonshu: bet
I love the reaction that both Marc and Steven are both a little afraid of whoever the 3rd alter is given how they react to the violence they snap in to
"The treasure was the hammocks we made along the way." Haha, I liked this video just for that line alone.
Tho the ending felt a bit rushed and wish they added another scene with mark and layla i did love this finale, i hope we get a second season maybe see Layla face off against Jake or something, unless idk there is a way for mark and steven to fight jake cuz it does sound complicated fighting yourself (unless your Oscar Isaac) I hope more will be revealed soon i do love this show and id love marvel to explore and expand more on the world of Marvel Egyptian Gods and culture
at the very least I hope he becomes an important side character or like co star in one of the future movies
I don't see why they'd "fight" Jake... he's not a villain. He's just a version of them that doesn't have as many qualms about getting his hands dirty.
yeah it rush if jake take the job
no unnecessary action just straight killing
I wish it had been about 15 minutes longer. The last 10 minutes felt really rushed. But overall I enjoyed it all, and am very happy that Moon Knight seems to be sticking around.
1000% rushed
@@RookCustoms whatever clown, lmao, Jesus hypervbole much? They weren't gonna slow down with this much tension building and the setup to Jack's reveal was masterful.
That is how you payoff foreshadowing throughout an entire season, while not spoiling the main twist.
According to Marvel, Layla is the "Scarlet Scarab" from the comics
I don’t feel cheated out on the fight just because it shows how dangerous Jake really is compared to Marc which is already a mercenary and showing how they were about to die but Jake killed everyone with ease makes him scary
If I recall correctly, Layla is based off of the Scarlet Scarab from the comics. In the comics the Scarlet Scarab is Dr. Abdul Faoul, protector of Egypt. Abdul Faoul might be a family member to Layla El-Faouly? Or maybe she's just the TV adaptation of Abdul Faoul. Either way, she's a fucking badass.
In the show, Abdul is her father's name. Taweret's comment about her father being happy with her decision felt like a nod to him being the original in the comics
She’s a MCU original character who is standing in for Marlene (?), Moon Knight’s love interest in the comics. She has the same history as Marlene.
The only difference is her relation to Abdul Faoul which Marlene didn’t have. This way, Marvel could make her MCU Scarlet Scarab.
Think of MJ in the Tom Holland Spider-Man films. She’s a MCU original character, but she’s clearly meant to also be a version of a comics character (in her case Mary Jane).
I've been thinking about it and when it cuts to black then to Marc almost killing Harrow. The audience feels EXACTLY how Steven and Marc felt. Waking up not knowing what happened, and where they were
Yeah, it's just another accurate depiction of a DID blackout. Without all the blood and violence, obviously. Marc and Steven have very high dissociative/amnesic barriers between them and Jake...so they will ALWAYS blackout when he fronts until they can start communicating with him and slowly lowering those barriers.
Your reactions at the end of the episode versus the end of the post-credits scene… pure gold. Disappointment to astonishment in an instant. That’s how you do a post credits scene.
"Well Marc and Steven aren't Moon Knight anymore, but Jake sure the hell is." xD
That episode was such a roller coaster. Amazing reaction
Layla is made up for this series. She’s a mixture of Marlene Alraune and Scarlett Scarab.
Oscar should receive the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor award... and judging by the post-credits scene... they should come up with a third award category so he can get that too.
While hiding the Jake fight scene in the end serves Khonshu's long con, I also think it helped do justice to the DID community as well. Entertainment media has been using the "secretly a murderer" trope for them that it's given them a lot of crap to deal with. So while I personally love Jake and would've loved to see his unhinged, mercenary shenanigans, I can't fault the show for doing him the way they did.
That full ten seconds of silence post post-credit was epic.
I love how Marc and Steven were switching in and out, like Pyra and Mythra in Smash Ultimate! Gods, the fights in this were so good!
Lol it really is like Pyra/Mythra.
Is it bad that I want Layla to summon Mark/Steven as a Moon Sword?
We had hints of Jake way back in episode two or three. When they were fighting on that roof in Cairo and all of a sudden all the men were laying on the ground dead and Mark and Steven were arguing with one another about who did it.
The treasue was the hammocks we built along the way… I laughed snorted too 😂
An amusing thought I had, though I don't think they'll run with it: There's Marc, Steven, and now Jake. And Konshu even points out "How truly troubled he is"...How many personalities does Marc have? How many phases of the moon are there? How many variants of the Moon Knight?
I doubt they'll ever give us the Inner Child, but I would love to see Oscar Isaac's take on her!
I was expecting a Power Rangers reference from Jay. Was not disappointed 👌
I have to say that this series has had the best offscreen fights I ever haven't seen. Also, I love the goldfish metaphor. When the series started there was one fish in the tank and one alter being kept in the dark away from the Moon Knight stuff. Now there are two fish in the tank...
"What a spicy hot chocolate this show was." I'm dead, LMAO
Im proud of the fact that i'm half Egyptian and know Arabic, Hieroglyphics and can understand what's written on the walls before any breakdown
Best marvel Disney + show and finale yet hope we get a season 2
I take Stevens "Laters Gators" as a promise for a second season 😅
And honestly, Marc rejecting paradise and choosing hell together with Steven is one of the best if not the best love stories I've ever seen in the MCU. Period.
Even though the finale was a little underwhelming, I LOVED the crap out of this show.
Also, hello, Jake Lockely!
Again, I'd like to reiterate that this show deserves ALL the Emmys, especially Oscar Isaac.
However, I also think that Ethan Hawke needs some love. He delivered a phenomenal performance throughout the show.
Also also, to see Layla as a hero, possessed by Taweret, warmed my soul.
Ammit and Khonshu? Whoa.
I sincerely hope that this show gets renewed for Season 2. I think it deserves it.
To the people who will complain about the ending, I say it worked out for what the whole concept of Moon Knight is.
In my personal opinion, I think what I saw was real (but who knows?).
Overall, this show is in my top 3 all-time favorite MCU Disney Plus shows so far. I enjoyed watching it.
I hope they will show Jake’s fight scenes in a rated R movie or series.
I like that they didn't show Jake fighting Harrowe, mainly because just like the start of the series, we never actually saw Mark's perspective of things until after Mark was fully introduced, so it just keeps things consistent in that way.
Since this episode was shorter then most and seems to not completely end yet still end I wonder if they cut out the finalized ending at the last minute because it was decided a SE2 is going to happen after all.
EP1 - 47m
EP2 - 50m
EP3 - 50m
EP4 - 51m
EP5 - 47m
EP6 - 42m
Think like this, Marc & Layla with their combined efforts were not able to handle Harrow and his goons but there is Jake who single handedly took all of them down. This gives the difference in the power level between them.
Now think of it in episode 1 cupcake scene it was not Marc but Jake because hr can easily handle few goons with guns and uses violence.
The hospital thing might be the story from comic that Khonshu trying to take over Marc/Steven body for real and lock him off in the other dimension that look like a mental hospital. I figure when the hospital scene happened, Jake is in control.
when i saw amit consuming souls and growing i already knew the "make my monster grow" bit was gonna happen in this video, love it!
If I take anything away with me from this review it's 8000 hammocks!🤣 Moon Knight is just brilliant and your reviews are awesome too. Loving you both from across the pond!
I can already tell this is gonna be one of those videos I can rewatch over and over again. You guys are the best. LAYLA IS AMAZING and I GASPED when the wings came out. So fire 🔥🔥
I haven't read any moon knight but from what I've seen Layla is an original MCU character based on a few people. From this it seems like she's going to be the MCU's Scarlet Scarab which is very cool.
Adam flailing around like an injured Kermit the Frog is classic. Jay look of sheer joy when MK flys was also fun!
Adam’s not having it face before the post credit scene sums everyone’s feelings 😝
Great reaction! I think that's my favourite post-credit scene since "Patience." 😆
I hadn't quite copped that point that Marc & Steven have now just ended up in exactly the position Steven was in at the beginning, that's so good. God I hope there is more of this show. 🤞🤞
I love that you could see Jay's opinion change in real time. 🤣
Just so we're all clear here. We believe that Steven and Marc both think they are free of Konshu. Meanwhile Konshu made a deal with Jake and now has him as his avatar without the other two realizing it.
22:02
"Meet my friend, Jake Lockley"
THis thumbnail reaction momentshould exist in eternity... Mind blown!
Been waiting for you guys to react to this. The whole fight sequence was tasty AF, especially Layla's badass wings. And the plot twist at the end was *chef's kiss*. There can't not be a Season 2 for this show! :D
I love your bits. Your "MooooOOOOOOoooon Knight" this time sounded more like a tornado siren than cookie crisp. 😆
Love that “Mephistoing” it has become a verb lol
Yeaaah. I’m a little in love with Layla and the gold winggy costume right now.
It's super fly
I was super looking forward to Moon Knight and I wasn't disappointed! It was a OKAY ending for me before the credit scene but became so much better after it!
I believe Layla is inspired by a number of different Marvel/Moon Knight characters. However, I don't think it would be wrong to say that she is the MCU's first original superhero as there is no one-to-one equivalent in the comics that I'm aware of.
Marvel and Starwars in the same day? Happy May the 4th day everyone!!
I'm still not 100% sure that the scene with Harrow at the end is real. The license plate on the back of the car read SPKTR. Probably symbolizing Jake and Khonshu using Marc's body as a vehicle.
Also, Layla is awesome and even though she doesn't appear to directly exist in the comics, she's inspired by other characters and Wikipedia has her secondarily listed on the Moon Knight TV Series page as "the Scarlet Scarab, the avatar of the Egyptian goddess Taweret." She appears to be a gender-swap of this hero from the comics, but the Scarlet Scarab is the defender of Egypt. That is awesome. And Layla is an amazing character.
Lastly, there is a ton more here. We need more of all of this. Way more of Layla too. They should have dropped a season 2 announcement at the end of the credits like they did for Loki.
Pretty confident Layla -- daughter of Abdallah El-Faouly -- is a direct reference to/reinterpretation of Abdul Faoul, the Scarlet Scarab, an Egyptian superhero. Particularly given the repeat scarab references.
Right when Marc was turning to stone, I could have sworn he was going to say, “you complete me.”
I think the reason the previous cuts of Jake's scenes felt natural was because they were in episodes that were being told from a perspective of Mark and/or Stephen, so it felt natural to not experience those moments. If anything, this episode was more from Layla's perspective than anyone else, and since she's present, it just didn't feel as natural to cut that scene since she's there to see exactly what happened.
Layla's avatar form is a reinterpretation of the Scarlet Scarab
This one tops all of the Marvel series and I truly did not think it would! I already rewatched it prior to the last episode airing and now that its finished I just want to watch it again. Honestly Steven/Marc as a dynamic has made its way up to my top favorite superheroes/characters and I can't wait to see what they do next/if he'll make his way to the cinematic universe.
I adored this ending, though I do feel it was rushed and would’ve benefited from being spread out over two episodes. Especially would’ve loved another scene between Layla and Marc, and Layla and Marc and Steven. That relationship was so great but it didn’t have a chance to really be resolved. Hopefully if these characters come back, we’ll get more of that. I really need this show, or at the very least, these characters to come back. Easily the best Marvel Disney+ show in my opinion.
my dude is wearing a Cardinals hat.... my guy knows what's good
As far as I understood from a person with DID, who shared their opinion about the DID depiction on this show, DID systems (the group of identities) sometimes have an inner world that can be anything (dr. Harrow talked about it in episode 5 and said it can even look like a mental hospital) where the identities can communicate (not everyone has it though).
But beyond that, they have an inner safe space that they can escape to and which sometimes gaslights them and alters their memories to help them avoid the truth/reality they can't handle. Here that safe space is dr. Harrow and his office. At least this is kind of the way they explained it...
Both Marc and Steven ended up there when they got triggered/freaked out and couldn't handle the truth and Harrow tried to help them by first covering it all up and later by making them face what they need to face. In this last episode Harrow tried to shield them from the truth again, to offer them a happier simpler life (like Marc tried to do with Steven in the beginning) but this time they were finally strong enough to not need it.
So it's not really a "did this all happen or not" situation as much as it's them getting rid of their self doubt and giving up another mental crutch that helped them cope.
Not me waking up all my neighbors screaming JAKE! JAKE! JAKE! at 4am lol
I need more MoonKnight Episodes ASAP!!!!!!!!!
