Yay!!! I'm so super excited for Codi to get going on a New Mount! I could always kind of see the disconnect between her and Shady and I too personally know that feeling when you're just not totally meshing with your horse 100%. It can be SO SO SOOO STINKIN' HARD to try to continue on riding everyday as if there's no issues. I've literally been in her very same spot. Well, from what I can tell anyways, it appears as if much like you said yourself, Miss Shady is ALOT of horsepower coming out of one little lady and if you are still building up your confidence then she probably isn't quite the best fit for some riders. Codi seems to be at that stage of her learning process that Shady is perhaps a tad intimidating BC of all of her spunk and big bursts of energy and power, she doesn't mean any harm by it but it can definitely come across as kind of a scary thing to be stuck having to constantly deal with when you're the type of rider who would like to just get on their horse whenever they choose to and feel 100% comfortable that they're safe and not going to spend the majority of their time fighting to hold their horse back and being a nervous wreck the entire time which in turn just continues the nervous circle and cycle that their horse is already pushing itself. They just weren't the right match. You can tell Codi is relieved to see her go and to be able to experience and bond with a new baby. She deserves it too. She works so hard, she's awesome! Def one of my top favey squad babies 😉 I can't wait too see what she ends up on next! And I can't wait for Miss Shady Boots to get herself a new owner aswell! I'm excited to hopefully still be able to see her progress from time to time, and to see what she's capable of when paired with a rider who's more her speed. She's a great little horse, just needs someone who's ready for some high strung fast paced action is all! Heck, I'm not that person either. My first horse I had gotten when I finally returned back into riding, after losing my one in a million horse to a hit and run accident, was the same exact way. It didn't help that I made the mistake of not spending enough time bonding with her on the ground before taking her out to open arena ride nights and barrel races etc. But she was a high energy horse who had to be lunged before every ride or else it would have been even more constant checking and fighting to hold her back. Before her I had always had super awesome low key chill easy going push style horses that I could trust with my life and full out gallop bareback next to my friends without either of my horses trying to go faster then my friends horse all on their own and when I would try to slow them back down they would listen to me rather then make my arms sore from trying to hold them back so hard. She was the first horse I ever thought I needed a tie down for and typically I wouldn't ever even consider using one. But she def liked to really hold her head up there pretty high and neck bent and she had big fast gaits and would get going when you were running FAST. She always wanted to race if you dare to run her next to other horses. It wasn't fun though, I had lost my confidence and was struggling to find it again and it shocked me that I was struggling as much as I was. But it certainly didn't help that I had now gotten myself a horse that was in a different place in her life then where I was. I too made the decision after a few years when I had to move out from my dad's house to sell her to a really cool family who gets plenty of use out of her and gives her a purpose once again. She was too young to already become a retired pasture pet, she's an awesome horse, a really fun competitor, totally finished pattern horse, carried flags in parades, hunted camped packed out and trail rode off of her she even enjoyed pushing cattle around too. She was seriously awesome. Her grand sire was Impressive QH amongst some other impressive names in the mix. She was a nice looking black and white blanket butt appaloosa and her confirmation was on point too. Nice big ole Quarter horse butt and the bulldog muscley chest and croupe muscles she was gorgeous I loved her as much then as I do right now. I miss having my horses in my life, they were therapeutic for me and I think missing out on having them around has helped do some real damage in my life. Someday I will have my gentle loving babies back in my life. I know that for a fact. But until then it's definitely a difficult time to deal with without any of them around. Anyways, sort of off topic I know, lol my bad. But Codi congrats on making that very hard but mature decision for both You and Shady to each continue on with y'alls journey in life and competing. I Can't wait to see what the future holds for both y'all and I really think you made the best decision and will see a whole other side to horses and to yourself and your own riding ability. Keep up all of your hardwork you're really looking awesome while practicing your pattern! And as always I'm obsessed with all of your artwork, fashion, design, shoot even all of your pretty pretty hair and makeup looks you put together on a daily basis! You're a bad babe! 😍😗😗😗

I think i should try to use a treeless on my big boy, he's so tall it's hard for me to take off the saddle without hurting him because they're so heavy. But, every time I've ridden in a treeless i feel like it's pulling my feet back no matter how deep i try to sit and it pinches my pelvis between the pommel and cantle as they horse walks. I might need to try a bigger seat.
Fallon I love the way your leapord saddle is made! Its absolutely stunning and I feel you with rawhide horns, they pick and chip WAY too much like I got my barrel saddle a long time ago and it has a rawhide horn and its so chipped I hate it lol. My barrel saddle isn't that deep and I've been looking for a new saddle but I don't want to order them online because I can't see if they truly fit my barrel horse. Any suggestions?

I unfortunately am not in it at the moment, I was but couldn't afford it anymore with other stuff going on in my life (adulting really sucks y'all), and I miss it like fury. So yeah, if you aren't in it, you really should be, and hopefully I can be back in it again soon 😁😁
Ok my best friend keeps bragging about how she's better at barrel racing and horse riding than me which were both equal and on the same level and she entered a rodeo with a girl who she talks crap about and is acting like her and that girl are bffs and she's acting like I don't know anything about barrel racing and she keeps shoving it in my face and it really hurts. Any advice..? ❤
Kalee Ebbers the funny thing is I am a barrel racer and none of my friends ride horses. I go to many barrel races and I have not made a friend that goes to the same ones, so I guess what I am trying to say is you can find other people that have many things in common with you.😋
